  1. And yet, just a few days ago, another delay was announced...
  2. It's Six Flags. If there's an opportunity for paid product placement, there will be paid product placement.
  3. Dorney still has an octopus that runs.
  4. No, but it is safe to assume they'll never RMC Predator because it's at Darien Lake.
  5. Really? According to Wikipedia they're all defunct. Not talking about the Skywheel type, but the tilting type as pictured above.
  6. Kings Dominion is the only one I have tried it at, and they do NOT offer FL+ at the regular FL price with the Platinum pass.
  7. I distinctly remember waiting 4 hours to ride Skull Mountain at SFGAdv its debut year. I was like 14 though, so my memory may be foggy. I positively remember waiting 3 hours with breakdowns to ride Maverick at CP in 2008.
  8. It's not the most unfriendly driving city I've been in. There's usually a garage or surface lot every other block or so. I typically park in one place and then Uber/Lyft/Taxi where-ever else I'm going, but that's typically due to intoxication rather than annoyance at driving/parking.
  9. Note that Philadelphia International Airport is a good 15-20 minute drive from the city itself. Uber/Lyft or a taxi will be at least $25 either way. With all the driving you're doing, it might make fiscal sense to get the car at the airport and return it there at the end of the trip. Depending on when you can fly in on Day 1, you can probably knock out some of your Philly culture stuff that first night. Don't forget to go grab a cheesesteak at either Geno's (if you like sliced steak) or Pat's (if you like chopped) when you're near the Mummer's Museum. Some may call them tourist traps and direct you to some crap like Tony Luke's (if you like a ton of pepper) or Jim's on South (if you like more bread than meat and cheese), but Geno's is my go-to. If you need bar recommendations I can help you out there too.
  10. I think you'll be waiting a long, long time for that call...
  11. Surprisingly Wildwood was quite dead this weekend. I understand it's still the off season but between the car show (which was very sparsely populated) and gymnastics competition I expected it to be busier. Guess the forecast played a part. Anyway, updates from Surfside Pier. Still a lot of work to do for Runaway Tram Car. Doo Wopper's new station under construction in the New location.
  12. So... I'm down in Wildwood for car Show weekend. Only Mariner's was open tonight (PigDog was not yet open for the year so no review there). Some notable changes pictured below. More updates tomorrow. Malestrom is gone. As are the Go-Karts.
  13. For the record, both Dorney and Kings Dominion (and possibly other CF parks) announced the removal of Dinos Alive well in advance of the end of the season. The part I've bolded is exactly the reason. Judging by social media commentary, Dinos is a huge hit with families with small children, so a random "Hey this is closing next week" pisses them off. If notice is given that it's leaving in 4-5 months, that gives them time to still get to the park to experience it. It's just good will building...don't read too much into it.
  14. I wonder if all of the cars will have roofs. I'll be down there this weekend and will try to take some pictures of any construction that may be happening on the pier.
  15. OMG B&M INVERT??? RMC RAPTOR???? PLEASE LOL. Hope for a bathroom, food stand, or smoking area.
  16. I can't tell if the poster analysis is being sarcastic or not. I mean, it should be, but you never know.
  17. You can't find the news on other sites because it's some BS started by one person on Facebook. There is no legitimacy to this.
  18. Nope, it doesn't matter. Two years ago I bought online through Cedar Point's website but ended up hitting Michigan's Adventure first and processed my pass there. Now two years later, I've renewed twice through Kings Dominion's website but still have the Michigan's Adventure logo on the back of my card.
  19. Over Texas was the inaugural park and is the entire reason for the name of the chain. I know that the current "Six Flags" has absolutely zero left of the founders, but I would be very surprised if they sell off the park.
  20. Nope, Real ID is only for domestic (within US and its territories) flights. Fun fact: Despite being passed in 2005, it still isn't required. Many states haven't even implemented issuing compliant licenses.
  21. I'm calling it to be an entirely new kids/family area right now. Cedar Point has 3, Dollywood just put one in...this is the way of the future. 98% sarcastic, but this would piss the enthusiasts off something fierce.
  22. That reminds me of the bar car on the High Roller ferris wheel in Vegas, where I made it my goal to try to have as many drinks as possible during the rotation. My record: 7 Jack-n-Cokes.
