The park closes at 8 and that day isn't on their Haunt calendar, so I'd assume no Haunt that day. -

Good catch. The Mambo Burger food truck was near the rear of Candy Apple Grove, next to the Taco truck and smoking zone, and across from the Beer truck, near Racer 75/Windseeker/Twist&Shop. -

Quick TR from this weekend. Pictures minimal. So I arrived for opening on Friday night, a little bit after opening at 7. Decent enough crowds... Made my way into Old Virginia and came across one of their roving troupes of musicians. I then Tollway Terror, their driving haunt, as it is known for huge lines and is not available on the Fright Lane program. Not too bad. This is often the best of their haunts, since it allows some space between cars/groups. I have to admit a few of the actors actually got me good. Hopped on Grizzly with a station wait... And didn't get beat up too bad, so 7/10. I then hit up Blood on the Bayou, which was actually grouping people to leave some gaps. This was the only house I experienced this on all weekend, much to my disappointment; all of the others (and this one one Saturday night) were just sending continuous streams of people trough. Given that the lines were reaching 2-3 hours on Saturday night, I guess this is necessary, but kinda ruins the experience. I then went to Anaconda for a decent wait, and found it a lot smoother than I remember. Never go away. 6/10. Backlot Stunt Coaster and Intimidator's line was full siwtchbacks, so I passed. The Lockdown house had a line out into the midway. Saw Volcano had a fence erected by its entrance/FL queue...hope this doesn't bode poorly for this rides future. I saw Avalance had a substantial line, so I just headed back to the hotel, as I had the entire day at the park the next day ahead. Day 2, I arrived right at 10:00 for opening and quickly hopped on Dominator (definitely has that B&M rattle, 6/10) and Berserker, which I haven't been on an inverting ship in probably a decade. Classic ride. Tried to go towards Avalanche with Platinum Pass early entry, but apparently they weren't doing it today, so just hung out for a while until the rest of the park opened. Hit Woodstock Express for the first public train of the day, then it was onward to Intimidator 305, which had a decent line but didn't take more than 20 mintues. 10/10 as always. The hopped on front row of Backlot after a brief 2 train wait. 7/10. Wandered back towards Twisted Timbers and found a substantial line and one-train operations, so decided to grab some breakfast (a double cheeseburger) at the Juke Box Diner. I was the only customer, and had to order via a screen, and then wait about 15 minutes for a super-dry burger. Not impressed. I then went for Bad Apple, Racer 75, and Drop Tower, all with minimal waits, and decided to head back to the hotel for a nap and to get ready for the night's festivities. Got back to the park at around 5:45, and bought both Fright Lane and Fastlane Plus passes after seeing the security lines. This would turn out to be a great purchase, especially the Fight Lane. So from here I get a bit fuzzy on the order (forgot to take pictures as I went through), but I did all of the other mazes (except Blackout) and found them par for the course for Cedar Fair haunts - decent artistry but no real scares. No Vacancy: Condemed was nearly black inside but they gave flashlights to just about everyone which eliminated the point. Notably all of the mazes had 2-3 hour lines, extending well beyond their setup queue lines, often backing up to nearby maze lines and getting mixed together. As for rides, I hit Avalanche (please never remove this, 8/10), Twisted Timbers (10/10), and the swings. I also got a burger from the food truck Mambo Burger, which took much longer than it should have for a only halfway decent burger. Day 3, I swung back into the park just for a front row ride on Twisted Timbers, and then made by way back to Delaware. Next Trip: KD for Winterfest. -

See, I was thinking more like the attached map (red areas are closed, green circled rides are open). Just bumping my own prediction from last year when this was announced...wasn't that far off, aside from the whole Safari Village theory LOL. -

Yes, you don't have to pay separately for mazes at KD, or any CF Park for that matter. -

So I stopped by the "Farewell Flitzer" event today. They had a band, were giving out free bottled water/pretzels/snacks, and of course the ride...which had a line that was (by my estimation) an hour and a half long. Sorry, but no thanks. Anyway, here are some pictures. -

What other flyers has CF removed? That's right, none. Don't make more out of this than it is. -
1. There is no harm to me. There could be harm to the credibility of the project, when city council is getting all these calls/emails/letters from people who are not their constituents and have no stake or say in anything that happens in their city. 2. No one was "bashing" the project as a whole. There was skepticism, from me and others, and some legitimate criticism of the website, but no "bashing." In fact there even was some positive response on page one. The fact is that, as you presented this project, it's nothing more than someone's pipe dream. No statement of investors, no real plan other than "rebuild the coaster." The key phrase there is as presented. There may be more to it than you've led on, but with what was shown, you can't blame people for being skeptical of something like that. And again, I have to stress how little a city council is going to care about input from those outside their jurisdiction. They don't serve us, they serve the voters in that city.
-
You're the one who posted asking people who are largely not residents of the jurisdiction in question to contact some city council and support this project, and then now you ask for those who have no stake to keep out of it. Which is it? You post something on the internet, you open it up to all kinds of commentary - positive, negative, off-topic, in-between. Sorry you didn't get what you were looking for.

It is not banned. "Banned" means it is specifically prohibited. It is not. No one wanting to take the chance operating one does not make it banned.

As was posted a few pages back, Vortex's ridership vastly outperforms Firehawk's. Firehawk always has a line because of its horrid capacity, nothing more. -
It's not that we're all "cynical haters" (though I'd probably not disagree with the cynical part), it just that we've seen these kinds of massive expense projects come and go. They're either way over budget, reliant on government assistance (tax breaks, etc.), massively delayed, only open an extremely small portion of the original plan, and/or never open at all. Or, some combination of the above. See the Orlando Skyplex, American Dream, Atlantic City anything, that wonky Noah's Ark-themed park, etc.
-
It's separate admission because they make more money that way, and with it way out there there's no obstacle to it. They used to run a tram to the waterpark (and Safari tour bus back before the days of Off-Road Adventure). With all of the barricades they put up for the Preferred/Diamond whatever parking lot, there's no way for the tram to get to the main gate, so they stopped it. That, and they disbanded the parking lot department...Fun fact: I used to drive and spiel on the that very tram in my youth.

Someone mentioned not staffing kids rides and having those employees work food stands or clean bathrooms. It doesn't work that way. Employees are trained in one area (for examples, rides, games, foods, grounds, etc.) for the most part, and that's it. You can't even take a random employee from one kiddie ride and put them to work on a coaster; each ride has its own training and certification process. Even for things like foods or grounds, that may not require much training, if I'm a 16 year old kid working rides and they tell me I have to go clean bathrooms or slave over a fryer, especially this close to the end of the season, I'm telling them to pound sand and walking out.
