Kings Dominion (KD) Discussion Thread

The fact that with RMCs restraints, unless your legs are twigs, there is no way to manipulate the zipper on the pouch once you've been secured in. -

You would be right, depending on what month it opened; according to RCDB, the following all opened in 1977: No Month Given - Black Widow at SFNE (Arrow winch launch) July 8th - Greased Lightnin' at CGA (Schwarzkopf weight-drop) No Month Given - White Lightnin' at Carowinds (Schwarzkopf weight drop) No Month Given - King Cobra (Schwarzkopf weight drop) -

Agreed. The "new generation" B&M OSTRs have vests. -

Again, can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not, but cranes are not that precise. For robotics that would be precise enough, you're talking a lot of money. -

"Re-tracking" a steel coaster is rebuilding it virtually from scratch. When Morey's re-did Great Nor'easter, it cost over $4 million. -

The same thing happens with Six Flags, SEAS, or any other skip-the-line system. They're all designed to put the premium customers on the ride before the non-premium customers. Six Flags system doesn't require the same wait time (see the upper tiers of Flash Pass) or limit the rides on other than brand-new rides (which CF also does at some parks, see Volcano at KD until last year), and some skip the line systems put people up the exit ramp, which is inherently more "unfair" than the Cedar Fair system, which sometime has the merge points far back in the queue (see Millennium Force). I get it that you have gripes about the "unfariness" of skip-the-line systems (I used to think the same way but nowadays can't be bothered with lines and bought the season Fast Lane at Kings Dominion), but don't see why CFs is any worse in your mind than any others. -

Looks like it'll be at Kings Dominion and Dorney too. Wonder if it'll be a super-tame course with no actual jumps or wheelies like the monster truck ride along in Wildwood. -
First off, the Turnpike and the Parkway are different things. And yes, unless you live in the northwest mountain region (where both highways don't run), you most likely have one exit that provides the most direct route to your house. For example, my parents house is 7A off the Turnpike or 98 off the Parkway, but you could easily take 90/91 and get there.

Tried and disappeared after 25 years. Too close to Orlando, no room to develop, and the wrong culture. Seatte has one, two if you count the Washington State Fair. Phoenix has one. Too bad, it is. They've also got Michigan's Adventure. We'll see how long it lasts. Astroworld closed for a reason. And your opinion is factually wrong.

Looking through their Facebook posts, they're obviously religious fanatics. Of course they'd try to censor their "message" so that no truth is revealed. -

Proofread before you hit submit, please. Also, there is no way that SFMM's Zacspin is going anywhere other than the scrapyard. -
Except that American Dream is not "down the block" from SFGA. Seriously do I have to go dig up the multiple pages in either this thread or the American Dream one where this has been covered ad nauseum? Edit: Here we go. Start there and read down. Hey, what do you know, it was you that was making the same nonsense point.

If you can delay the trip a week, Kings Dominion (they open on the 30th). Intimidator (enough said), Twisted Timbers (enough said), Avalanche (only remaining of its kind in the US), Dominator (regarded by some -not me - to be the best B&M floorless) and a bunch of other great coasters and flats.
