  1. Wow...over 3 hours wait for a haunted walk-through. I sure as hell hope they sell skip-the-line passes like Cedar Fair's Fight Lane.
  2. American Eagle was perfectly fine when I rode it back in 2017. I have a hard time believing that it's deteriorated to an "unrideable" status in just two years. You're over thinking it. Besides, this is Six Flags. Great America just got Maxx Force. You won't be seeing another multi-million dollar investment for quite a while. Take your giant frisbee and enjoy it. EDIT: We all said the same thing I just said the last two times you brought this up.
  3. (Off topic) I had no idea what the Banana Splits were, but upon some research this movie thing sounds awesome:
  4. I can't speak to crowds or strategy, but Flash Pass at SF parks differs greatly from Fast Lane at CF parks. At SF parks: 1. You are issued an electronic key fob/watch (depending on park) for your group. 2. You choose which ride you want to ride that's on the plan. 3. The device gives you a return time, which will be your time to ride.* 4. At the designated time, you go through the Flash Pass entrance and meet an employee who scans you device and "checks you in." 5. You then proceed to the station, or in the case of some rides like X-Flight, a merge point before going up the stairs to the station. *The return time given varies based on what level of Flash Pass you have. Regular = your return time will be approximately the wait of the standby queue. Gold = your return time will be approximately 50% of the standby queue length. Platinum = your return time will be approximately 10% of the standby queue length. Yes, I think it's stupid and overly complicated compared to CF's system too, but what're you gonna do?
  5. You may be right, and I honestly wish nothing but the best for you amusement park deprived western NYers, just trying to keep people from getting their hopes up too much.
  6. Owned Outright: 1. America 2. Discovery Kingdom 3. Fiesta Texas 4. Great Adventure 5. Great America 6. Great Escape Lodge 7. Magic Mountain 8. Mexico 9. New England 10. St. Louis Management and Operating Agreements: 1. Over Georgia 2. Over Texas (Six Flags also has 53% ownership here) Operating Agreements: 1. Darien Lake 2. La Ronde 3. Frontier City
  7. Once again, Six Flags is the leased operator for the park. They own nothing.
  8. And what makes you think they'll do any better of a job timing the dispatches on this one?
  9. They're closing it since the contract with the vendor expired, just like every other CF park has done/is doing.
  10. I can't speak to Fridays, but Saturdays will be generally packed. That said, most of the crowd will be packed into the Haunt lines, so coaster lines (aside from Wild Mouse) should be totally reasonable.
  11. At risk of being stupider for making a serious reply, no, no one except you cares about Grid or even knows who he is. Joker is the arch-nemesis of one of the biggest names in comic books. Joker has been portrayed in numerous TV shows and movies, too many to list. Grid is the enemy of a 5-rate, also-ran, superhero who has appeared in one TV show and 2 movies, ever. Grid himself has been in zero movies, ever. Be happy Grid got the mention he did on the Cyborg-themed rides that exist. Rides that only exist with that theme, mind you, because they've run out of real DC superheros to theme rides after.
  12. According to a Forbes article on this very announcement, the country doesn't even offer tourist visas. Article
  13. American Dream hasn't opened yet...the jury's still out as to when/if it will ever open, and then how long before it closes down. But yeah, on topic this seems awesome (though not enough to get me to travel to and spend tourism dollars in a country that criminalizes LGBT-ism to the point of execution) if it ever happens. That rendering was so unrealistic (seriously no banking on 99% of turns) it makes me think someone hacked the Six Flags website to post the entire announcement.
  14. Wouldn't be the first time. Chiller at SFGAdv originally opened for like a week in '97, then closed for the rest of the year, and they advertised it again as their "New for '98!" attraction.
  15. Nah, it's twelve near-misses with the other "train" on interlocking superloops.
  16. Not sure about an activation deadline, but I can say that it doesn't matter which park you buy the Platinum pass through, you can activate it at any CF park.
  17. Yikes! If other people enjoying this announcement and expressing themselves in a fun and humorous way makes you feel that way about your life... 'Twas just a joke to express my dislike of the term, that's all. I don't actually hate my life because of people using it.
  18. Having experienced Grand Carnivale at KD this past summer, I can say that sadly it is not.
  19. I swear I heard the crowd chanting "Kiga." I hate my life.
  20. Can't tell if serious or not... Aside from Dollywood, their parks don't seem to have been doing much in the past 15 years. Dollywood -Added a bunch of flats and a kiddie coaster in 2019. -Added a flat and kiddie coaster in 2017 -Added a coaster in 2016 -Added a flat in 2011 -Added a bunch of flats in 2005 Silver Dollar City -Added coasters in 2018, 2013, 2006, and 2001 -Renovated rapids ride in 2020 -Added flats sporadically over the past 15 years Wild Adventures (owned since 2007) -Removed two kiddie coasters -Added and removed a traveling fair roller coaster -Removed Mystery Mine -Added 2 flats in 2010 -Added 2 flat in 2013 -Added 1 flat in 2015 -Nothing since
  21. I'm calling dueling interlocking super loops. Six Flags considers them coasters, remember.
  22. Phantom's Revenge at Kennywood says hi.
  23. At least this/last year's. We don't know pricing for the CP 2020 all-season FL+ do we?
