  1. It was two years ago in 2017, except for the Safari I think. EDIT: I should clarify. Yes, the entirety of the park was open to walk around. Many food stands were closed, as well as some ride closures, due to staffing if I had to guess.
  2. Probably has something to do with their vastly HS/college age workforce having classes on Monday thus being more hesitant to work Sunday nights.
  3. Cedar Fair's is 15 minutes, and I guess I'm just the type to read the fine print, but I always knew that was the deal when I bought the drink plan.
  4. Awesome report Bill. I definitely need to make it down to Texas one of these days.
  5. Opening: Dec 30 2019. "See, we told you it was new for 2019!"
  6. Its possible that the train was already traveling less fast already heading into it, thus you wouldn't see as much slowdown. The magnetic brakes the ride has installed now slow the train to speed X, not reduce speed by a set amount, so if it's already traveling at or below X, they don't do anything.
  7. Unless you rode the Beast the first few weeks it was open, you did not get a trimless ride. There were always skid brake trims that didn't turn off which were replaced with magnetic brakes that do not turn off a few years back. Just sayin'.
  8. I think you underestimate the market and how many people there are in the area that would be willing to pay that price. I wouldn't be surprised if it ends up being even more than that once they transition out of previews. But what's their competition? Coney Island? $42 for an all-day wristband. Great Adventure? $58 for a day, $72 for the year. Sorry, I just don't see the draw other than "open in the winter."
  9. LOL $40-50 dollars for 4 hour blocks. Man, I know I keep digging on this project, but they just make it too easy. Closed within a year, if it ever opens.
  10. Sounds like an employee that didn't know what they were doing, and supervisors that also didn't. I'm not sure if it's changed since 2017, or if the fact that it's a non-US pass that matters, but I can say for 100% certainty that I bought my pass through CPs website and processed it into a card at MiA back then. Since, I've renewed it twice at Kings Dominion, and still have my MiA card.
  11. I second Bill's comments; Dorney's Haunt is better than the Halloween events at SFGAdv or Hershey, and the low crowds will generally mean a decent time. Haunt maze lines shouldn't get beyond the 30-45 minute mark, and of course ride lines will be super minimal. That said, if all you're looking for is haunted houses, the region has some of the country's best. Check out the following: Terror Behind the Walls at Eastern State Penitentiary Field of Screams Pennhurst Asylum Bates Motel Fright Factory Note that these are mostly, if not all, much more extreme than what you'd find at an amusement park. Namely, that you might have to sign a wavier and the scareactors will most likely be touching you.
  12. Yeah, lines weren't terrible, but walking around the park was pretty damn crowded at times.
  13. It sure as hell felt like a record last week. Place was packed both Friday and Saturday nights.
  14. Where are they going? What's your source, Little Miss 9 posts?
  15. Probably because that whole section of the park isn't open?
  16. In the shop page, it lists the attractions that its valid on.
  17. Be warned, from 6 years of working at the park, the Orthodox Jewish days were some of the busiest at the park. Not sure if that has anything to do with Yom Kippur but if it does...yeah have fun. I'll reserve my comments about the behavior of those attendees as to not offend.
  18. I don't believe that's chain-wide, just some parks (like Great Adventure). I could be wrong though. But yeah, it's a little nuts.
  19. For only $35 I'd say it's totally worth it. You'll be able to skip all of the other lines too. Honestly Twisted Timbers will possibly be towards the shorter length lines out of the 8 rides that are on the Winterfest FL. Can't be sure since it wasn't open last year.
  20. Wow. I've never had that happen to me in any of the flashlight mazes I've been through at CF parks despite shining the light every which way.
  21. I'm pretty sure the actor was messing with you when they told you to only shine the light on the ground.
  22. For the record, I had two rides on Vortex this morning; first one was front-row with the entire train to myself. The second was in the very back row with maybe 10 other people in the train. There is nothing wrong with this coaster. Yes, it's not glass smooth like a brand-new RMC, but its still less brutal than Racer is. Using the "Arrow trick" of keeping your head in front of the restraint to avoid headbanging helps.
  23. Yeah, young teenagers was the kinda riff-raff I was referring to.
  24. Most High Schools in Central Jersey go through mid-June, so you should be good on crowds in that regard. That said, you'll be good on crowds, meaning the park will be pretty dead, meaning if there's a slight drizzle they'll close early. As for Flash Pass, I frequently go to parks by myself, and almost always splurge for the skip-the-line pass. Standing in any kind of line by yourself is still kinda weird to me, and there's only so much surfing the internet on your phone that you can do. Boldikus will surely reply with more details.
