  1. Meh...I never rode the Crypt and I won't ride a 4D, so net change of zero for me.
  2. I read that article too. The trick is what KBrylczyk said: those that are similarly priced have hotels, and are doing so to keep the amount of non-hotel guests to a minimum, since their bread and butter are the overnight stays. Those that do not have hotels are almost universally substantially cheaper that the one at the AD, which, also does not have a hotel.
  3. It's possible. NJ does have the greatest ratio of lawyers to residents in the US, after all.
  4. I swear you can't make this stuff up. Edit: These tickets are also subject to a "if we increase the price later you pay more" nonsense that NU is doing.
  5. You know you're in the SFDL thread when someone posts about them building a freezer LOL.
  6. You take your sacrilegious shit right on outta here LOL. Next thing you'll be asking for Beast to be RMC'd.
  7. Personally I'm shocked. Shocked, I say! You'd think with the "retail component" supposedly opening in a few weeks, there'd be some more press about it...but nope, nothing, not even from the AD's paid apologists over at NJ.com. And what about that waterpark? This tragedy of errors cannot get worse.
  8. Technically, it was Premier Parks before they bought Six Flags, and they promptly spent as little as possible on the park and offloaded it a short 12 years later.
  9. Respectfully disagree. Dragon Coaster is quite good and a landmark, their Derby Racer is awesome and one of two left in the US, they've got a log flume and a whip, a bunch of other classic rides, not to mention the dark rides. Let's not forget that it's $30 for an unlimited-rides wristband. The only thing NU has on it is the Takashiba clone, and MAYBE their drop tower. Sorry, but in my book, two rides are not worth $60-70.
  10. No it's not worth it. If you're there in the summer, Coney Island and Rye will be infinitely better options.
  11. So what were people saying about this place being run by intelligent businessmen? LOL.
  12. Kennywood does in fact offer a skip-the-line pass; it's called "VIP Tours." Despite the name, it's not a guided tour through the park, but instead a set of time-specifc exit passes for each coaster. It also used to be stupidly cheap (I think it was $20 back when I was there in 2017). I can't comment on crowds since my one time there was an overcast weekday in July and it was a ghost town.
  13. DL fans don't care, they just want something new so we can have a 50 page discussion about it.
  14. Or it's just one company trying to get out of the theme park business. Indiana Beach, Fantasy Island, and Clementon were/are all owned by the same company.
  15. 100 people a day maybe? So basically they'd double DL's attendance then.
  16. Well, there is nothing to spend money on when you're there (unless you want a 7-11 grade sandwich from a push cart), so even if we wanted to, there's nothing to buy. And I'm sorry if expecting a reasonable return on investment is being a "cheap ass coaster enthusiast." The place has 3-5 solid adult rides and another few that might be enjoyable by some adults, no shows, no nothing else, not even proper food stands. Sorry if that's not worth $60 or $70 to us.
  17. In all seriousness, as much as I joke about SF's ride opening time tables, yes it should be open by September. However, DoinIt is right....take a look a WCR for how to colossally ruin a ride opening.
  18. LOL at the concept of NASCAR fans expecting anything other than complete tragedy. Or doing anything other than chugging Coors Light. NASCAR has bigger problems than worrying about a failing half-amusement park, like the fact that their viewership has plummeted in the past few years, that their mechanics are going to have to learn how to work on post-1950s technology, and that their drivers are going to have to learn to shift more than 4 gears.
  19. In about a year it'll be $0, since the place will be closed LOL.
  20. Yeah, I guess it's kinda like old-school Simpsons in that regard, where the really adult jokes the kids just won't know they're missing something. I don't have any to provide that "kid's perspective" LOL.
  21. Nice TR. As for Aggretsuko, it's a definitely-not-for-kids show, is totally hilarious, and both seasons are on US Netflix (both dubbed and sub-titled). I highly recommend it.
  22. If you ever find yourself in or around Asbury Park, NJ, check out the Silverball Pinball Museum. It's a good time, and Asbury Park is a much nicer town than it generally gets a rap for (so long as you stay on the ocean-side of the rail line that runs through town LOL). They apparently have one in Delray Beach, FL as well.
  23. My bad then for misinterpreting that update. Still kinda unacceptable when Orion is completely assembled and Candymonium isn't far behind. If it's just "me and my coaster nerd buddies," why does every other theme park chain in the US, possibly the world, target opening their "New for Year X" rides towards the beginning of that season? Six Flags caught plenty of flack from the "GP" on Facebook for WCR, so it's not just us. Also, check your tone, newbie. We're not entitled to anything more than what they advertise. Had they come out and said "WCR won't open until the very, very, end of 2019," this wouldn't be an issue. You clearly are a Six Flags fanboy if you're defending this practice, which, again, no one else in the industry does. You might try to write off SFMM since they're a year-round park, but you don't announce something in 2018 as a "New for 2019" ride and then open it at the end of December regardless of your operating calendar. This guy gets it.
