  1. Hey all, I was just out at Six Flags St. Louis last weekend, and I was riding on the Screamin Eagle. We were riding in the last car, and I was noticing down some of the hills, that I felt a pull, like trim brakes were added to the hills. Does anyone know if they did in fact install trim breaks, or am I just going crazy.
  2. my first coaster with inversions was right here at Six Flags St louis, back in the 80s.. we had a looping coaster here, called The Jetscream, it occupied the site where batman stands now. it was later sold to Astroworld and renamed Viper- and they also added a tunnel.
  3. don't know what it is, but everytime I see this picture, I lose it!!! I guess its the fact that I can't stand Fabio,, and well the bird in the face thing was pretty appropriate for him!! I think the blond in the pic is saying--"Don't worry, nobody will notice"
  4. Im not only wondering about the future of Magic Mountain, but as Six Flags as a whole. I like the directions that Shapiro is taking, adding the superheros, parades, adding new kids areas.. The teenagers do bring the money into the park, and they always have and will--and they come for the Coasters and all the thrill rides.. But them kiddies need to be able to have some fun too, since they aren't big enough to ride the Coasters, and the new attractions/themed areas are a wonderful start. I think Six Flags in general will always be on top, and trust me, as much as Shapiro is wanting to add these "family attractions" the coasters will still come, they will always be built! I don't think you have anything to worry about at all, Magic Mountain will always be top for rollercoasters!
  5. We talking about the same Boss? some real slow parts? bout the only slow part on that ride, is right befor the big drop on the break run.. Yes its true, The Boss IS a rough ride, but that depends on where you sit, I find that sitting in the middle, gets you 1. some air, 2 less tossing around, pure fun!! The Boss is one of the BEST investments our park has had since the Screamin Eagle was built back in 76, and in my opinion, The Boss, lives up to it's name in a BIG way! Ride it again and see what I mean..
  6. wow you amaze easily--what was this directed at? if your refering to me talking about the Superman Tower of Power, I am aware of the fact that the ride isnt open till may, but you know what, they can at least show the right ride, and not something completly different.. look at the pics below--"One of these things is not like the other" The one on the left is what they show on the TV, the one on the right is what we have at the park-- BIG difference...
  7. Ok so I am watching television tonight, and the commercial advertising the birthday celebration/changes at Six Flags St. Louis, and just like every other year, they show attractions from OTHER parks, but not ours.. I think one year they showed the Screamin Eagle, but that was it-- I mean they don't even show the right Superman Tower of Power, they show someone elses ride. Now when I have been in California I have seen ads for Magic Mountain, and actually saw magic mountain attractions, and the same went for Six Flags Great America in Gurnee, it shows their attractions.. what is up with that? is it just here in St. Louis or do other people experience this, or does the advertisement for YOUR Six Flags show your parks attractions or the ones for your park
  8. So this is a really silly question, but whenever I make a coaster in No limits, and then I place the scenery, the trees come out really tiny.. what do I need to do to get the trees to scale?
  9. I'm going to have to go with Cedar Point for the skyline..
  10. I eat whenever I am hungry, Never had a problem with eating a meal then going back for more rides on the coasters. I remember doing the same thing when I was a kid at my school picnics, ride the rides like crazy, go home and pig out then go pack to the picnic and ride ride ride!
  11. Oh it's not that bad, the couple of times I went to MM I rode Flashback and didnt bang my head, guess I got lucky both times..
  12. Speaking of blacking out, I used to black out after the second loop of good ol' Shockwave at SF Great America, before they replaced it with Superman. It was still an interesting ride, but the on ride photos always looked funny because I would 'regain my senses,' right before the photo during the pretzel loop. Probably wasn't good for me to ride the dam thing, but still. thats funny you mentioned that...I thought that it was only me, everytime I hit that second loop .......black out.....then back right at the break run.. guess I should say that for years and years after seeing Roller Coaster, I always swore I was going to ride on the Revolution, and when I finally got to MM it was the first thing I rode! although it was sooo tamed down, and there were OTSR's I still enjoyed my first ride. Now there really isnt a coster that I dream about riding, now it's just if I get to ride a new one, Woo Hoo!
  13. just mentioned this in another thread, thought I would mention it here as well. back in the day (70's) on the roller coasters, we used to try and get everyone on the coaster train to clap going up the first hill, we called it a "train boogie" sounds really stupid I know, but when you get 30 people clapping at the same time, in unison, its alot of fun!
  14. OMG what a mess! and I can't believe those people who would put those children over the fence like that. its crazy!
  15. I searched for a while but didn't come across anything other than press releases for Mr. Six
  16. amusement park memorabillia is really collectable... anyone know what the tickets were used for? were they admission tickets
  17. We have many "Gum Walls" at SFSTL, its a real problem on a couple of rides
  18. Coasters are "Thrill Rides" weather that thrill is fun or fear or whatever, screaming is a way of dealing with your fear, it adds to the ride to hear screamers! I had a niece that was a screamer, it was great to coaster ride with her.
  19. well my guess would be that if you want to be surprised at what the ride has in store for you, then just don't click on any links that say anything about Expedition Everest, because you know it's going to have reviews, pics, vids. I don't know if I will get around to ever riding it, so seeing the video is great.
