  2. I tried videotaping Ninja at SFMM and all was well until it the train released from the lift hill, thought for sure I would lose that camera..nope for me TPR is my supplier of POV Videos! let the profesional do it!

  6. Oh man thanks everyone for all the responses! I knew that the Revolution was great in its day!
  7. Back in 1977 when the Movie "Rollercoaster" came out, I was instantly hooked on the "Revolution".... I wanted so bad to ride that coaster, the drops looked cool, the general layout of the track was wild, and I was just crazy over it.. kept saying one day I will get out to Magic Mountain and ride that.. Unfortunatly, I didn't get to ride The Revolution till around 99, and although I still was happy to be riding the coaster, the ride itself was really rough.. and a little of a let down..the biggest reason being they installed shoulder harnesses on cars that didn't originally have them. I watched "Rollercoaster" again today, and I was so mad, because the Revolution was going so much faster back then, and there weren't any shoulder harnesses. it seems like now they feel the need to use the trim brakes, and even add breaks where there were no brakes originally, (coming out of the tunnel and right before the last big turn) Why in the world do they do that to rollercoasters? Now I know I'm not the oldest person on this board, and I hope that there is someone out there that can tell me what a ride on the Revolution was like back then. full arial view of Revolution The "Revolution" 1977
  8. I was out at my local Six Flags (st. louis) for Fright Fest last weekend, and I thought I saw something but I'm not sure.. while I was in line for the Boss, I looked through the trees and noticed my favorite coaster the Screamin Eagle, hiding there, but there was something different about it.. it appeared to have been retracked, and had all new woodwork! is there anyone out there that can confirm this for me.. I had heard rumors that they were planning to retrack the coaster, but I thought that it was in fact that, just a rumor.. any help would be greatly apppreciated a thousand times over!!
  9. this is the best place to go for coaster / park information.. about the only other coaster sites I visit are coaster crazy for no limits files, and the roller coaster database.
  10. thats an easy question--"Its a Small World" has got to be THE worst ride!! hated it as a kid, and when I rode it as an adult, I hated it even more! the non-stop song over and over and over...AAAARRRRGGGHHH ok glad i got that out of my system...
  11. Ive seen photos of this coaster, and Im sure it would be very intense, and yes I would have loved to have ridden it!
  12. Six Flags Over Mid America (hometown park) Six Flags Great America (visit Annually) Six Flags Magic Mountain Worlds of Fun (kansas city) Kings Island Cedar Point Bush Gardens (florida) - hated it sooo much!! Islands of Adventure Silver Dollar City (hoosierville) las Vegas Disneyland Disney world Epcot Center Disney MGM studios
  13. It was 1973, I was 9 years old and my first coaster was the "River king Mine train" at Six Flags over Mid America, then in 1976 they opened the Screamin Eagle, went the day it opened with my sister, waited 3 1/2 hours to ride it, and it was awesome! I was hooked on coasters from that point on...
  14. Hey Robb, was wondering if you have a video of Hercules that was at Dorney park.. I never got a chance to ride it, and would love to see it in action. Thanks!
  15. The Raging bull at SFGA last year in August... from the top of the hill
  16. in 78' my friend and myself were at Six Flags here, as we were going up the lift hill on the Eagle, it stopped at the top, we sat there for about 45 min, then 3 employees walked up the hill to us and informed us we had to climb back down to the station! it was great!
  17. Goliath is in my top 10 list as well! gotta love that first drop super coaster!
  18. of course I also love Raging Bull at SFGA too what a coaster!
  19. Screamin Eagle all time favorite woodie! screamin eagle coming down the first hill
  20. ok im missing something here, I've ridden S-te several times, and never have felt airtime on any of the rides. for some good air time in my opinion, go ride Viper at SFGA its one of my favorite woodies! The Screamin Eagle used to provide alot of airtime back in the day, but its been changed so much and its gotten tamed over the years, why they even took out one of the best airtime hills on the whole ride! put a straight section of track down in it's place..
  21. by far one of the worst coasters ever is the dreaded Ninja here at Six Flags over Mid America, it has NEVER been a good ride! also Gwazi was a BIG waste of time, and bringing up third place would be that awefull thing people like to call the Manhattan Express!!
  22. years ago, a woman was thrown from a stand up roller coaster here at SFOMA and the following week when it re-opened, I was on the first train out of the station.. seemed the ride got more popular after it killed someone!
  23. I remember like it was yesterday, it was the summer of 1978 and Andy Gibb was playing live at Six Flags over Mid America and while everyone was there watching the show, I was riding the grand old Screamin Eagle! and I rode it and rode it for a total of 48 times! and would do it again today, you gotta love the Screamin Eagle, it may not have giant hills, but it's got something!!
