  1. It's no different than CP having Wicked Twister, Iron Dragon, and Raptor or how about Kings Dominion having 4 coasters that launch. some parks have multiple wooden coasters too!
  2. yeah at SFSTL it broke down 2 times yesterday... first time was down about 15 minutes or so, and the second time was about 25 min.
  3. Ok so Six Flags St. Louis has been open now for 3 weeks, and I have been out there 3 weeks in a row. every weekend, THBS has been broken down several times during the course of the day. Last week it broke down while we were on it. I know there is another THBS, what I was wanting to know is if THAT ONE has been breaking down a bunch as well?
  4. here in Mo, Six Flags St. Louis sells coaster shirts this past weekend I saw coaster shirts for the boss Screamin Eagle Tony hawks big spin Batman last year at Six Flags Great America, I bought a new V2 shirt, so the parks are still selling them
  5. hey I was out there today too! the lines didnt seem too bad, I got right on the Boss, the second time I had to wait for 2 circuits of the train-- had to wait for 1 circuit of the Screamin Eagle on the second time as well...Batman was the longest for us, 3 circuits of trains before we got on. I feel sorry for those people who had to stand in line for the Season Pass processing, they were waiting for ever, when we left, they had closed off that little section, because there were so many people in line. We got to the park before it opened, when it did open we got on tony hawk and as soon as we hit the brakes at the end, the coaster broke down. apparently when the loading gates were closing, someone leaned on it and it shut down the system,, we had to wait like 15 min for the maitinence guys to come reset it. but that coaster was broken down like 4 times today, from what we saw..it was doing the same last weekend too. I NEVER have had a problem with the Boss-- its all about where you sit.. the front is rough, and the back is the roughest place to sit. I always sit in the 3rd car, first seat left side. and still love every ride on the Boss! the Screamin Eagle has been riding great this year so far, I sure wish they would finish painting it though--my guess is they arent going to because you dont' see the rest of the track in the park. but they still need to finish painting it though! and they need to return the Screamin Eagle sign to the side of the third hill. either way, I had a great day out there today, no complaints
  6. I've never heard of the place, so this was a very interesting post..
  7. we were planning on that weekend but had to change it to this weekend, opening weekend! I decided to get my pass last year during Frightfest, so Im ready to go... I know the coaster is all built and everything, so I hope they are planning on opening it this weekend.. a friend of mine sent me this shot... It's going to be fun...
  8. I worked at six flags St. Louis in 81, the year that the Jetscream opened, we got to ride the coaster before the general public did! I worked at the First Cone ice cream parlor at the front of the park...
  9. The First time I went to SFGA when I was driving down the entrance to the parking lot, the first thing I saw was this huge blue coaster, and for that visit and a few more after that, it was an awesome ride.. when I had gone out there 2 years before it was dismantled, i was all excited and pumped, little did I know it was going to be one of the roughest rides on a coaster, I banged my head so many times, jerked this way and that way, man it sucked..however I was still actually upset when I heard they were taking it down. I didn't hate the coaster, it just wasnt in my top 10 anymore. but it was a fun ride none the less, I loved that first drop!! AD video for Shockwave--- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bgm_OaaIAMM
  10. I went out to Magic Mountain and Riddlers Revenge had just opened, I rode it and loved it, it was soooooo smooth! A few years later I went back out there, and when I rode Riddlers Revenge, it was a rough ride, just didn't seem as smooth as it was a few years earlier..
  11. I was out there a couple of weeks ago, and looked around for markers but didnt see anything... as far as the themeing for Fright Fest, it does seem like SFSTL was a little skimpy this year as compared to a few years ago.
  12. do you know where this was at? I have no memory of this anywhere in the park, and I have been going since 75....
  13. The hoodie is worth it, especially on cold fall days like today, why here I am wearing mine at work!
  14. they have seemed very low to me too, but I also have a had a few friends go out there this year, and said the crowds were horrible, too many people..guess we were lucky enough to go on quiet days!
  15. Rode it today, it's only running with one train, and it was about a 45 min. wait. but had to ride it since this was my last visit for the season. it did seem very smooth too..oh I did notice that the right side of the cars, had a raised side, that when you looked right, you saw the side of the car.
  16. Well I got a group of friends together for one last fling at Six Flags for the season, and the days visit was just awesome! The crowds were small, the weather was incredible, Mr. Freeze was running, and I got my next years season pass for 54.99! the last visit of 2006 was great, hope next year is even better! then it was off to the headbanger- oops I mean the Ninja, for another slamming ride, hated it as usual. after Ninja, we headed over to Batman, where we encountered an empty station, again! then it was off to---oh great Superman is closed again! The eagle, was performing well today, we rode the blue train, and had loads of airtime! and just like The Boss, the Eagle was just as empty! Next it was my ride, The Screamin' Eagle!- we actually rode this 3 times today, the last time was in the dark! next is was over to The Boss! not a soul in line, got right up to the station, and right on..there were even empt cars! as we were heading over to the boss, I was shocked to hear the familiar starting siren of yes can you believe it...Mr. Freeze!!--with only one train running and a 45 min. wait.. got to the main gate, there was one small line, and that was it! the decorations were very minimal, kind of dissapointing...
  17. the only thing that burns me out now is the park itself. I will always love coasters, but as I get older, the time I spend in the park seems to grow shorter and shorter. my view was ever since I was a teen that-- when you go to Six Flags, you get there when it opened, and you didnt leave till the park announced that it was closing for the night. that way you got your moneys worth and you had tons-o-fun! now it seems like I get out there still when the park opens, but I am ready to go home like 3 oclock. I try to do at least 2 circuts on the coaters, and maybe a ride or 2 on something other than a coaster. and that is my day. my legs don't walk as fast as they used too! lol... Im heading out to Six Flags STL today, for the last visit of the season, have my camera all ready to go, going to do a big trip report! be sure to check for it tonight!
  18. I grew up going to SFSTL, and every year I still get my season pass. as long as the Eagle stands, that is reason enough for me to keep returning. let alone the Boss, Mr. Freeze -well maybe next year on that one-- so your stuck between WOF and SFSTL, well do what I do and drive that extra mileage and go to Six Flags Great America up in Gurnee, that park will scratch that coaster itch of yours!
  19. if you havent gotten one, do it! its a great way to promote such a great site, and they are really soft and comfortable! I got mine last year, and its all soft and ready to wear this year, they hold up great!
  20. But at least we got a made for TV movie from this one, "The Death of Oceanview Park"--
  21. Im going out to the park on the 8th of October, it will be my last visit for the season. It's a shame to have gone all season and not been able to ride Mr. Freeze, hopefully next year it will be running. but we will also have the new spinning coaster next year as well. as far as the Boss goes, yeah its a rough ride, but you just have to know how and when you brace yourself for the ultimate riding pleasure, I love riding the Boss, especially when there are first timers on it.. watching their faces as they go down the first hill, and once the train hits the second drop down and it takes off, they are always taken by suprise!
  22. Jetscream- SFSTL Orient Express Runaway mine train track 1- SFSTL Shockwave-SFGAM Python-BG Zambezi Zinger High Roller Out of all of these coasters, I miss Shockwave the most! I loved that ride, roughness and all, that first drop was awesome!!
