  1. ^^Personally I dont think theyre gonna do that... The Caprio had the WORST captivity of any coaster in the park...Not that it should stay anyways, I already got my credit on it ^^. As far as my insite, Im curious to what the freefall, flying, and coaster will be. Everything else is beyond me, since I dont care for it...I'm already IMing my friends, confirming that next year we'll probabbly just get a CF pass instead of our usual PKI one...I'll still go there for the credits though, and to pay hominage to VorteX (which looks like it's not getting torn down ) Jared"Yet another year without a GOOD coaster*"Becker *unconformed untill I see the Avatar ride. Actually Avatar is a cool show, considering who made it, so I'm hoping for the best. Same for Danny Phantom...Everything else on Nick isnt worth watching, since they took away Zim...
  2. I have nothing against taking away credits, but I voted for killing the park and giving money to the rest of the chain. Lets face it...Paramount needs some improvement. Even though its nice for them to be making theyre chain into family parks, in the world of today, peeps need thrills. So what have they done? (atleast in PKI) *Removed KC (one of the best coasters I've ever ridden) *Removed some flyers that could have stayed, as theyre space is unoccupied... Im sure I could think of more, but not right now....But seriously, PKI NEEDS something good, especially if the rumors for VorteX's destruction are true. If thats the case, I'd just say put PKI into the same catagory I voted for on this pole...
  3. Airtime-giving wood twisters Also, accelorator coasters seem to be "it" right now, and new-school mice have been on the rise lately (Euro-fighters, spinning coasters, etc)
  4. I live in Cincinnati, OH...Thats pretty close to the whole Tristate deal, so I think I count. (Then again, I've yet to visit Beech Bend, or, unfortunately Holiday World). Closest I ever got was SFKK last year...
  5. All TOGO standups (KC-style): King Cobra has and always will be one of my favorite coasters...I dont care if it's a deathmachine... Any Flyer: Never rode one... Any floorless: See above comment EGF:... do I REALLY need to say why? Goliath (Walibi): ...Reon luffs the Intamin goodness... Superman (new one in Ausie), SpeedMonster, KK: Reon also luffs the rocket coasters(coincidentially made by Intamin).... Legend: I want to see if it lives up to what I've heard about it.... Raven: ditto Balder: ...see my comment for EGF Sheikra: looks like a nice ride, and Ive yet to brave a dive machine... Nemisis: Yay for themed terrain invert that is so...uber? Project Wildcat: Well, gotta ride my own coaster, now dont I? Of course I need to build it first more to add as I think of them...
  6. I rode it back in it's glory days at SFFT. It was a nice ride (first loops I did backwards...) I liked the theming for the queu (it was going through Joker's funhouse and such) I miss it....
  7. Once again, a great idea that I may clone (turns into SF employee) The only problem I see is lack of propoltion to the top of the first tower...is there some sort of lift system?
  8. You know, I really hate this...Possibly the one chance I get to be a star, and I'm in school Oh well, maybe when I go to college...
  9. Im not asking how much Thunder Wagon costs, I'm inquiring about how smooth it rides, for incase I chose to adopt your construction style... Jared "New for '05/6: Project Wildcat" Becker
  10. ^As I said, I'm constantly making revisions and taking suggestions...I might end up doing something like that freefall thing, since it's a good idea (minus the back spike since upsidedown airtime isnt the smartest idea...) As for current building cost, how'd you get $2 million? I didnt think I'd really have to spend much on supports, since the ride never really leaves the ground other than the lift hill, bu thats only so the cross over has enough clearance space....For the sake of track, I might end up doing it the way "Thunder Wagon" was made (if its smooth). It looks like a more economic solution to using all those layers of plywood (or whatever kind of wood I need. I just say plywood because its bendable, and, when layered, can be quite sturdy.) I know this because I once built a Halfpipe out of the stuff...
  11. Voyage for a few reasons: 1) More reasons to go to Holiday World....(still needs to ride Legend and Raven) 2) Adding to the reason of visiting Holiday World, it's a park that's relatively nearby, so I should make it one of my most anticipated trips for next year. 3) One of the only projects that's announced for the USA so far... 4) I loves me some airtime-filled coasters. (Note that my fave coasters include: Cyclops (Great air throughout entire ride), Vortex (quite a few good pops in it), and good old King Cobra, which was also filled up with some sweet little pops of air, along with many other great elements...) Also, the new Ausie Superman is looking better and better each update. I pity that its in Austrailia and not the US (especially since I fell in love with rocket coasters this year)
  12. *DP* Current pics of Project: Wildcat (construction markers) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v467/Reon_Skyridge/Rollercoasters/backyard%20coaster/IMG_0218.jpg This is the first part of the ride. You start at the top of the hill, then snake down it.. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v467/Reon_Skyridge/Rollercoasters/backyard%20coaster/IMG_0221.jpg At the bottom of the hill, you go into this "tunnel" for a curve... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v467/Reon_Skyridge/Rollercoasters/backyard%20coaster/IMG_0222.jpg Dip between the tunnel and lift hill sections... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v467/Reon_Skyridge/Rollercoasters/backyard%20coaster/IMG_0223.jpg Lift hill area. My room's in the corner http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v467/Reon_Skyridge/Rollercoasters/backyard%20coaster/IMG_0225.jpg Double dip section. The first half will be a steep twisting drop off the lift, and the second half will hug the ground... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v467/Reon_Skyridge/Rollercoasters/backyard%20coaster/IMG_0226.jpg At the bottom of the double drop, the track will turn around and go back up the hill, crossing under the lift... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v467/Reon_Skyridge/Rollercoasters/backyard%20coaster/IMG_0227.jpg Another view of the double dip section... After the crossover, its just a straightaway back to the start...
  13. My friend, you have just given me a great revision for an alternative layout...(if I can get it to work that is...) I'm not saying I currently lack ideas...I'm currently plotting it as a terrain figure-8 coaster with a lift in the middle of the ride (it starts on top of a hill...) But given the space, a freefall with a airtime hill works out quite nicely. As for the other guy who actually made one, how smooth does that run? I noticed that you didnt really curve the track all that much.... Jared"still revising plans for Project: Wildcat"Becker Yes, Project: Wildcat is currently the working name of my coaster. The alternative would be something with Cobra in it...
  14. ^I actually still have that book... I have a coaster for my backyard, or rather I would if I got off my lazy arse and started construction. In the mean time, Ive used one of those fisher price coasters from my neighbors, and rode it for a credit
  15. In order: Mt. Olympus (best woodies of the year) PKI (Vortex=Best air on a multilooper) Hershey Park (Wildcat comes in a close second for best woodie, and StormRunner my fave steel) PKI...again Coney Island(Ohio)-(best opporated rides) PKI...yet again (well, I have a season pass so...) CP (Best park of the year. M-Force replaces StormRunner for best steel, and TTD ties SR for second (Vortex is 3rd)) PKI...a few more times....
  16. SoB. You can hear the lift from the highway if you listen carefully...
  17. it isnt a high speed turnaround, but vortex's first drop. I can never express how much sweet floater air you get on that thing enough! On a similar note, Cyclops' first and final drops both produce legendary airtime while going down a curving slope so I think they apply... Also, KC just because its packed with so much airtime (and usually going into/out of a turn when doing so)
  18. best: *Beast for the helix of doom *Cyclops for uber-floater air hill #2 (#1 was going down the lift hill) *StormRunner for the insane uphill trick-trackish element *M-force for the overbank (and flying into the breaks at such a high speed) worst: *AE..need I say it? *Vortex because the helix doesnt do the ride justice *Great Bear for the lame s-bend...
  19. Where do the bears come from? The product of giftshops, boredome, and collecting amusement park perpheranelia (bleh, long word) As for your trip, consider yourself lucky. Delerium, while fun, is an abomination that should never have existed! King Cobra was 10 times the ride that Delerium will ever be. As for SoB, it's one of those rides where you only ride it for a credit (unless you have a deathwish...) IMO, the only GOOD things in Action Zone are Congo Falls (nice way to cool down with ejector air in the back), and Top Gun (though I'm rooting for it's removal for a B&M invert, as previously mentioned.) The only other things worth going for are: Vortex (best ride in the park, no contest), Beast, IJST, Shake Rattle 'n' Roll (Troika), and Monster....Oh, and Drop Zone ofcourse...
  20. How was Excalliber? It looks like a great ride, but you never really hear about it unless someone like you goes there...
  21. Before I start, I cant upload my photos directly because both my scanner and my digital photo cf thing are on my dad's computer...you'll have to deal with hyperlinks... I basically went for 2 reasons...or more. First of all, I wanted to see what PKI was like when it actually had a crowd. [/burn on PKI] Secondly, I borrowed my dad's digital camera so I could take some photos and such...Since I already went to PKI about 10 times this year, I just went at a casual pace. I wont go into much detail (since you probabbly just want to see the pics), but heres the day in a nutshell... When I arrived at the park I went strait for Vortex. This entire year, I made it my warmup coaster so I could be sure to ride it atleast once per visit. On this trip I took out dragster monkey (souveneir plushie from CP) and had him ride with me...2 pops of air from near the front. I was actually HAPPY that there was a line for it...(and more than there was for Beast.) Speaking of the legend, after a visit to a giftshop to get some souveniers (A "The Beast" bear, and an orange Vortex shirt), I went over to the Beast. I thought it would be appropriate for beast bear to ride it since it was, well..a Beast bear. The ride was fun, but a bit uneventual... After Beast, I strolled around a bit, looking for my next ride. After about half an hour, I wound up on Son of Beast. I tried to avoid it but beast bear made me . Most painful ride on it I've ever had...(and I was in a double ride lane). Next I went next door onto Top Gun. It felt like it was running fast and the ride ops were acting like they were from CP. Never-the-less, I still think they should replace it with a B&M invert that occupies that area (I already have the layout plotted in my mind.) It was getting hot, so I nabbed a quick ride on Congo Falls. I think thats my all time fave water ride, since you get huge ejector air going down the 2nd half of the double drop. Adventure Express came next, since I was still trieing to cool down from my injuries on SoB. Apparently this ride is much better than I thought. For a little ride it gives you 2 pops of air in the back car. Next was the not-racing-racer. Nuff sed. After riding backwards racer (Beast bear didnt like it because he didnt ride on the red train), I decided to take a break from coasting. I went to my favorite in-park resturaunt (Skyline), and got my usual meal (cheese coney and a 3-way.) As I walked away munching, I heard that the School of Rock show would start in 15 minutes, so I decided to check it out. It was mostly a bunch of rock songs performed by a random group of people...kindof lame, but the back up singer/dancer girls were hawt. As I exited the theater, I took another lap on Congo Falls. Then I went on Viking Fury, and went to the Eiffle Tower, to take some shots. I came down and went to IJST, since Dragster monkey wanted to compare it to TTD. I was making good time through the line (about 15 minutes) and IJST broke down. I waited 15 more minutes and it started back up just before I was gonna get out of line. The ride was moderately fun, but not worth that wait (atleast the effects were all on). After IJST, I rerode Vortex, Beast, Adventure Express (twice), and Congo Falls before leaving the park...The End. now, photos! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v467/Reon_Skyridge/Rollercoasters/c45295c3.jpg -IJST tricktrack/s bend http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v467/Reon_Skyridge/Rollercoasters/IMG_0004.jpg -I tried going for a unique angle on this shot http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v467/Reon_Skyridge/Rollercoasters/b771d7a4.jpg -Dragster monkey approves of this ride! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v467/Reon_Skyridge/Rollercoasters/IMG_0006.jpg -the wrath of the beast (the cute lil black and red teddy bear) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v467/Reon_Skyridge/Rollercoasters/34049a56.jpg -Beast bear approves of this ride! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v467/Reon_Skyridge/Rollercoasters/f060a137.jpg -Yay for overbanks... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v467/Reon_Skyridge/Rollercoasters/08335029.jpg -Dragster monkey: Hey..whats MaxAir doing here? http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v467/Reon_Skyridge/Rollercoasters/IMG_0011.jpg -BB: Beast? Also, take note that I'm including Top Gun in the area, so B&M can make the new version... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v467/Reon_Skyridge/Rollercoasters/c3942acb.jpg -Overview of IJST for all you re-creaters http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v467/Reon_Skyridge/Rollercoasters/37cbd586.jpg -Mmmm. Vortex^^ Can you find all 3 smiles in this picture? (And you though EGF was happy)
  22. Anywhere with credits likely walabi world, cuz of goliath, or europa park for egf^^(unless i got the names wrong  ) As for what I plan to hit next year, Im basically making $100 a week (off 12 hours a week), so Im covered for admission( I hope). I plan to DEFINATELY hit HW, since Ive never been there. Also, our steel band is gonna make another trip, but the location is currently under discussion. If we make another eastcoast tour, were gonna hit DP and SFGA. I hope we do that, cuz it means my first floorless and flyer credits, another juicy rocket (I dont care if its Kingda Klunk, or if its a dragster mod), and some other great(?) stuff.
  23. How bout...wooden-rocket-terra-standup-suspended-floorless-4d-spinning mouse with 314 inversions? Unlike you guys, I just think of realistic concepts. My latest is a cross between a wood twister and an out and back. Basically, it feels like an outie, but the turns keep on stearing you right into the supports. I have a track based off this idea made in RCT3, and it might be the greatest thing I have ever ridden. Its just a shame I'm unable to upload it...
  24. Most air the whole ride: Cyclops Most ejector, wood: Cyclops, final hill Most ejector, steel: Millie Most floater, wood: Cyclops, first drop (the famouse drop where i get enough floater air to switch seats...) Most floater, steel: Vortex (PKI), first drop Unexpected: Hades, underground section
