  1. I love Appliance Direct!! Right now, I truly cannot stand this commercial for some reason... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PGGrQix9VsY
  2. I haven't been keeping up to date with the HP construction at all and am just catching up now. I'm really bummed that Enchanted Oak is gone! And no more Flying Unicorn either? At least that's still standing and will likely just be re-themed. I always thought that was a fun kiddie coaster. I'm looking forward to the Harry Potter stuff, though. While I'm not a huge fan of the books, I've still read them all. It should be interesting to see them brought to life. And now, my tribute to the Enchanted Oak... The seating area in the back was a great place to chill, with a nice view across the park. Little did I know that this was my last happy hour at the Alchemy Bar. No more cool Enchanted Oak ceiling.
  3. Ok, I counted 10 duckies. Good job on the Fahrenheit race! Too bad I didn't notice the single rider line when I was there.
  4. It's hard for me to choose a favorite. The atmosphere at each resort is so unique. I love the pool and all around theming at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. The Boardwalk is also amazing, and being walking distance from Epcot and MGM is a huge plus. There's something that I love about the Port Orleans resorts - Riverside, because my family and I used to stay there all the time when it was Dixie Landings. And French Quarter, because it's smaller in size and has such a cool, relaxed feel to it. My favorite resort that I've never stayed at is the Polynesian. Not only is it a monorail resort, but they have Dole Whips in their food court. I'm staying at the Beach Club for the first time next year, which looks like it has a pretty sweet pool.
  5. Epcot all the way. It's not only my favorite Orlando park, but probably my favorite theme park overall.
  6. Yeah, it's only being done in schools and community theatres in the US these days. I saw an excellent production of it in Philadelphia a few weeks ago. And omg, Lego Les Mis is awesome - thanks, Erik!!
  7. Heh...I wondered if anyone would get that reference! --Robb "Les Mis Fanboy!" Alvey Nice! I'm a huge theatre geek, and Les Mis is my absolute favorite. You can't go wrong with quoting musicals in a trip report.
  8. Hey Big Mike, what did you think of Grease? I haven't gotten around to seeing this production yet. Looks like the kids had a fun time in the city.
  9. I'm enjoying your TR so far! And Cabaret is one of my favorite shows so that was a nice surprise to see on here. Though I don't remember there being much, if any, nudity in the Broadway production I saw a few years ago! I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of the photos.
  10. Cool TR! I go to Central Park all the time, but I'm usually there to run and forget those rides are there. Nice to see them, and I'll have to get around to getting that credit one of these days.
  11. Ghostrider at Knott's immediately comes to mind as the roughest coaster for me.
  12. Awesome TR! Your captions are cracking me up. I'm looking forward to seeing the rest!
  13. I've definitely visited WDW the most. And out of those theme parks, I've probably spent the most time at Epcot.
  14. Nice photos, especially of Disneyland Paris. And the KT photos are adorable too! The Crush Coaster looks like a lot of fun. I'd love to see that added to one of the Disney parks here. Glad to see that you had a safe and fun trip!
  15. I'm not a Star Trek fan, but my dad is, and we went to this a few years ago. I was really impressed and enjoyed it so much more than I thought I would! It's a shame that they're closing it.
  16. The NJ Transit bus is a super easy way to get to GAdv. You'll catch the bus at Port Authority on 8th Avenue between 40th-42nd St. There are several buses that leave around 9:30am. They even have separate ticket windows to purchase the tickets (you'll see signs that say Great Adventure), which are $27 round trip for just the bus ticket, or $53 for the bus and theme park. Once you buy the tickets, you follow the signs upstairs to Gate 324. The bus drops you off right at the park, so there's no need for a cab. The times for the buses returning to the city vary. Last time I went, they told us they were leaving at 6:30pm and 8:30pm, but I'm not sure if there's a set schedule. I know the website says 9:30pm but there are definitely earlier ones. I haven't used the Flash Pass this year but the park will be packed, so if you want to get everything done, it will be worth getting. Have fun!
  17. Parks visited this year so far: Epcot Magic Kingdom Disney's Animal Kingdom Disney-MGM Studios Universal Studios Orlando Islands of Adventure Disneyland Resort Disney's California Adventure Nascar Cafe Sahara Las Vegas Busch Gardens Africa Old Town Orlando Six Flags Great Adventure Sea World Orlando Aquatica Six Flags New England Lake Compounce Dorney Park Hersheypark Great Escape Jiminy Peak Jeepers Albany And I plan to visit: Epcot Magic Kingdom Disney's Animal Kingdom Disney-MGM Studios Universal Studios Orlando Islands of Adventure Disneyland Resort Disney's California Adventure Six Flags Magic Mountain Six Flags Great Adventure
  18. Pleasure Island used to be kind of a cool place, but it's been in pretty sad shape recently, so I'm not too upset by this. I only really went there when I had free tickets anyway. I hope Disney makes good use of that space for the future.
  19. I can see how she might be annoying to some people, but I think she's hilarious! My Life on the D-List is one of my favorite shows, and I've seen her comedy act live twice. I love her stories about the encounters she's had with various celebrities.
  20. I've only recently begun keeping track of the coasters I've ridden, and I know that Great Bear at Hersheypark was #100. If I had to guess, I would say that my first coaster was Big Thunder Mountain at WDW.
  21. It looks like you guys are having a blast in Europe! Paris looks especially cool and is definitely on my list of places that I need to visit one day.
  22. Yup, we did indeed complete the ride and got the credit. I guess an added lap would have just been a bonus, but breaking the ride was even better. Though I don't think we were the ones that actually broke the ride - I blame the kid towards the front, who was bigger than any of us!
  23. A few years back, I did probably around 15 back to back rides on California Screamin' at DCA. And once during Extra Magic Hours at DAK, I rode Expedition Everest for about an hour and a half until the park closed.
  24. Yeah, I'll admit that I've been on my share of kiddie coasters, but I haven't had the pleasure of going to a Jeepers until now. It was a sad day. But it had to happen at some point. What happened after the ride was what made it completely worth it. Yes, we had to evacuate the Python Pit coaster. After the third lap, instead of normally stopping, the train went up the lift hill again. Only it didn't make it over. So the ride op told us to stay there while she ran off to get help. The guy she returned with got a ladder that was off to the side. Larry and I were close to the ground so we just kind of hopped out. Luckily Rich and Melanie got to use the ladder. Though they're not the best photos, I managed to get a few of this memorable experience. I think that any Jeepers credits after this one are going to be a huge disappointment for me. Renee Rich made it out of there alive too. Melanie managed to escape unharmed. Our rescue team has arrived. Jeepers: Coaster whoring at its finest.
  25. I'm around 5' 6".
