  1. Great photos! I stayed with my friend's family a few nights last year at the Orange Lake Resort and loved it. We got lost there all the time, though - that place is huge! It was crazy how cold it was in FL that week. Looking forward to seeing the rest of the photos.
  2. I finally saw this when WoL was open for the last time in December 2006. I dragged my brother to see it too, and we both thought it was lame, but had fun riding Body Wars several times. All the times we stopped in there that trip, the place was practically deserted! I hope WoL can be used again someday for something other than the various Epcot festivals.
  3. Thanks to those who have donated so far - I truly appreciate it!! I made my "goal" fairly low, because I know the economy still isn't great, and there are other causes to contribute to, such as to those in need in Haiti. But if you could contribute just a small amount, that would be amazing. And I might even wear a TPR t-shirt for the event.
  4. Mmm, chocolate cake shots... that looks better than the vile shots made by Elissa and Piers! I've never been on a cruise but this is definitely something I would want to do in the future. Hope you're all enjoying the rest of your vacation!
  5. I'm participating in a fundraiser for MS with an event next month at Rockefeller Center in NYC. I always feel so awkward asking people for money, but if you could make a donation, I would greatly appreciate it!! Thanks in advance for your support. Here are the details with the formal donation request info: On Sunday, February 28, 2010, I will be climbing 66 flights of stairs to the top of Rockefeller Center to raise money for the National MS Society at Climb to the Top. This year's goal is to raise $250,000 and I want to do my part to reach that goal. To make a donation on my behalf, you can simply visit my personal page (main.nationalmssociety.org/goto/Renee.Girard) or mail a check (made payable to "Climb to the Top") to: National MS Society Climb to the Top P.O. Box 10123 Uniondale, NY 11555 Please make sure to put my name (Renee Girard) in the memo section of your check. The National MS Society believes that moving is not just something you can or can't do but, rather, is who you are. Climb to the Top raises funds for critical research, as well as comprehensive programs and services for people with MS, moving closer toward a world free of MS. When you donate, you become a part of the powerful movement that is doing something about MS Now.
  6. I was in WDW last week and had the chance to take advantage of this offer. It was awesome! You basically just go to the speedway, sign a form, put on an unflattering suit, get fitted for a helmet, jump in the car and they take you around the track for 3 laps. I'm not into race car stuff, but I had a blast and I can imagine that the full experience for someone who really likes this is incredible. I never had any plans to do this, but I'm really glad that I got to try it! Here I am all suited up for a few laps around the WDW Speedway.
  7. Ugh, I can't stand Leno. I've loved Conan for years and this just sucks. He's handling the situation with such class and I love him even more for it.
  8. Great photos! It was fun meeting up with you guys for a few hours at DHS on Sat. It seems like the weather is finally starting to warm up slightly. I'm sure it will get back to normal FL temps once I leave tomorrow!!
  9. ^I saw Memphis a few months ago, and I really wanted to like it, but I couldn't get into it. It wasn't anything special. The music and story just didn't grab me like other shows have. I do appreciate having an original musical on Broadway like that, though. There was actually a talk back with some of the cast and creative team of Ragtime, and unfortunately, they don't have the money to make a new cast recording.
  10. I just saw Ragtime again for the last time, which is closing on Sunday. It really saddens me that this show couldn't run longer. It seems that in order to have a successful run on Broadway these days, you need to have a celebrity in the show or a jukebox musical, so the audience is familiar with the music. There will be 2 new musicals featuring the music of Frank Sinatra and Green Day coming up soon. I'm actually looking forward to both. Twyla Tharp is the choreographer for the Frank Sinatra one, and I thought what she did with Movin' Out was great. And Green Day is one of my favorite bands - American Idiot is an awesome album and I can see it working well on stage.
  11. I'll have a check in the mail tomorrow. Really looking forward to attending my first WCB!!
  12. Haha, nice to see that they fixed that. Great photos - I just love WDW around the holidays.
  13. I almost always stay on Disney property when I go to Orlando, and I definitely recommend doing so if you plan on spending time at the WDW parks. Pop Century is my favorite of the resorts in the value price category. It's not as fancy as the moderate and deluxe resorts, but the theming is fun, it's clean and easy to get around. A few years back, a bunch of us stayed at the Buena Vista Suites, pretty close to Disney, and it was decent. I would stay there again if I couldn't stay at WDW.
  14. 1. What are your initial thoughts? I think it's a good idea and I would definitely join. You guys always put so much effort into making TPR a great community. I'm sure that an addition like this to the site is something that you've put a lot of thought into. 2. Can you think of anything else we could be offering? It looks like you've got it all covered! 3. Is this something that interests you? Yes. 4. Why would you NOT be interested in this? N/A 5. Any additional feedback you can give us based on the information you see here. I don't think that a newsletter is necessary. Updates through the message boards and emails like they are now seems good to me as it is.
  15. Great TR! I especially enjoyed the Bill Paxton reference. I went to Ice last year and loved it. And even though I'm used to cold winters, I was absolutely freezing by the end of the exhibit!
  16. "Speechless" - Lady Gaga
  17. That is awesome! Even though it's the off-season here, I tend to travel to places that have parks open all year. WDW in 2 weeks!
  18. I noticed the Avenue Q book among your gifts. A great book for an awesome show! I got money for the Europe trip, Disneyland AP renewal, Lady Gaga's Fame Monster CD, beer, candy, random crap from Bath & Body Works, and an iPhone travel battery. Hope everyone had a nice holiday! Oh, and this.
  19. I've been enjoying these videos all month and these last two are definitely my favorites. What an absolutely amazing wedding that must have been! A little off-topic but what did you guys think of the surfing lessons at Typhoon Lagoon? That's something I've always wanted to try. I know they didn't offer it for a while but I'm pretty sure it's back now.
  20. Southwest Airlines just launched a free app. Looks pretty good so far, and hopefully it's easy to use to check in for flights through that rather than Safari. You can also set it up to get the "Ding" fares sent to you through the iPhone. And for the holidays, I've been enjoying playing Santa's Rollercoaster Rush.
  21. I still have to finish decorating my "real" Christmas tree, but I put up my fake mini-tree yesterday. I felt that Zero was an appropriate topper for the tree.
  22. I'm actually kind of excited about this. I don't remember if I ever saw Captain EO at Epcot. I'm not a huge Michael fan either, but anything replacing HISTA is ok by me. In fact, I don't think I've even seen HISTA at Disneyland!
  23. The banner looks decent - way better than the old one! I'm glad that it was still open last week when I was there. Even though it's flawed, it really is a fun ride.
  24. Other random iPhone apps I use frequently: Kayak - A helpful travel search. AppBox Pro - Lots of basic useful things all in one app. MazeFinger - A quick and fun game. iheartradio - Listen to a wide variety of radio stations. Dunkin Donuts locator - It's always good to know where the nearest DD is. Bejeweled 2 - Quite possibly the most addicting game ever.
  25. Thing does make a brief appearance in The Addams Family, as does Cousin It! The show has a lot of potential. I hope they work out all of the issues in the out-of-town tryout,
