Show us some of your favourite picture you have taken
Scaparri replied to Cllins's topic in Random, Random, Random
Some of my favorites can be found in this thread: http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=532&highlight=pictures+taken Maybe coaster related pictures should be put in that thread in order to avoid this one getting closed. -
Would you rather go to a smaller park?
Scaparri replied to coasterdude5's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I generally prefer larger parks. I don't have a problem with small parks, but I too often get bored. I don't usually find it a problem to ride what I want at large parks. At smaller parks I can ride everything, but I don't care so much about some of them. Large parks give me plenty of selection so that I never get bored. The only downfall is you sacrifice the character that is sometimes found in smaller parks. I still go to small parks and enjoy myself, but I just usually end up spending 3-6 hours at a small park while I may spend all day at a larger one. -
Yeah, best of luck with that Kip. Hope everything turns out alright. That's some good advice though. I think I recieved more peer pressure in my first year of college than I ever did all through high school.

I'm up for it! Also, for any interested, I'm going to SFKK that night for Fright Fest if anybody wants to meet up. -
A Day In The Life Of YOUR TPR Visit!
Scaparri replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I usually hit the Donkeys or Random board first. I don't really visit the other boards much. I'm not a big fan of RCT3 (I'm an RCT2 kind of guy) and I never really have enough time to do much with No Limits so I don't really visit that one much. I visit Ask Alvey every once in a while. Usually after I've checked everything on Donkeys and Random or if I'm curious about something.. I visit usually at least a few times a day and I most generally just go through the first page or two on each of the previously mentioned boards to see whats new. Every once in a while I will hop in the chat room if I see there are a couple of people in there. I don't really check out the main site photos much anymore unless there is a new batch or I'm interested in a particular park 'cause I've seen most of the pics. Maybe I need to go back through some of them though. Some of those trips are freakin' hilarious! That's my typical TPR Visit/Day -

Class of '04.

I worked on Friday night at Cold Stone, then on Saturday, me, my brother, and his girlfriend got up early and went over to St. Louis for a Blues game. We spent most of the day hanging out around town and then went to the game. It was a blast though they lost. They were playing my bro's favorite team, the Nashville Predators. We headed home and ended up missing an exit and not realizing it for over an hour. Needless to say, it was a late night. It was fun though. Sunday, I watched the last Indycar race of the year and then went to work. It was a pretty good weekend overall.

Count me in Robb. I'll be there. -
What is the best flat ride/ rides to you?
Scaparri replied to Supermilk's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Vekoma Waikiki Wave- It was really disappointing for me to see SFKK take out the last flat ride of its kind in the U.S. to put in a dull waterslide that is being installed everywhere. The Waikiki Wave is an incredible flat that is now only found outside the U.S. Huss Giant Frisbee- This thing is just a monster. I love being spun nearly upside-down 140ft above the ground. Intamin Freefalls- These things never fail to scare the living crap out of me. -
Best and Worst Organised Queues
Scaparri replied to downunder's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Best: I'll say Superman Ultimate Flight at SFOG. Nice and simple. Nice views of the ride and parts of the park. Worst: Raptor. One giant rectangle of queues. On top of that, the blocks of queues within the giant rectangle are random and go various directions. -
if you could live in any movie. . .

American Pie 2. Livin' each summer on the beach with my best buds. -
I definately prefer manual, but I drive an automatic. I don't really intend on getting a manual until the day comes that I can afford to buy a brand new car, otherwise it's just too much of a risk. You never can tell what kind of condition the clutch is in when you buy used. Manual is just so much more fun though. It takes some of the bore away when driving.

Boomerang Or Giant Inverted Boomerang?
Scaparri replied to pgathriller's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Easily the Giant Inverted Boomerang. The speed and especially the vertical towers do it for me. Also, because I'm not used the crossover, I always get a bit disoriented when the train hits the cobra roll. -
If you could change a coaster.
Scaparri replied to Supermilk's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I would also return Zonga to its original Thrill/Texas Tornado glory and rid Raging Bull of all of it's trims and midcourse brakes. -
Theme Park Personality Quiz
Scaparri replied to jobber73's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'm Six Flags Great America: 52% Theme, 89% Rides, 44% Atmosphere, 24% Value. Interesting seeing how it is one of my favorite parks. -
Elitch Gardens Discussion Thread
Scaparri replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Yeah, but keep in mind, they aren't going to say anything to anybody about it. It doesn't matter how nice you are, they aren't just going to necessarily say, "Well, we're putting in a new coaster", or "We're adding a state of the art thrill ride" or anything like that, ya know? If they wanted people to know would just say "Look for our new coaster in 2006." I wouldn't think too much about it. That just their way of trying to be nice but at the same time saying "We're not telling." -
you are the owner of cedar point
Scaparri replied to Supermilk's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^LMAO. Just the thought of combining 100 kiddie rides with daily Slayer performances is hilarious enough. I had plenty of time to think about this this summer during my tenure in Sandusky so I'm ready for this question. This could get a wee bit lengthy and crazy. Keep in mind that my changes would be over time, not instant. -Call me a bastard, but I would take out Wildcat and add a Gerstlauer Bobsled or Spinning coaster in it's place. Wildcat is such a pain to operate. -Give Cedar Creek Mine Ride the axe and throw in a B&M Flyer. -Burn down Mean Streak in the greatest light show the state of Ohio has seen since the Cuyahoga River Burning and add a massive B&M Floorless. -Add various flats around the park, particularly in the Frontier area of the park. -Theme everything. -Take out Demon Drop and put in a Intamin Stand-Up Gyro Drop. -Rework and retrack Blue Streak. -Add a tall waterslide complex to Soak City. -Take out Mantis , and put in an Intamin Woodie. -Begin building Parking Garages at the back of the parking lot, take out the employee parking lot and start moving the front of the park towards the causeway to expand the park. I guess that's about it for now. -

I haven't been this excited about a local coaster probably since SOB. I can't wait for spring to roll around. This thing is going to be incredible. TPR meet next spring anybody? -
I never post rumors unless I believe there is some reliability in them, which is never, so the fact that I am going to mention this, means I feel it is at least worthy to be said. I don't necessarily think this is what's going to happen, but just thought I'd pass along for discussion. I heard from one of the head maintenance guys at CP (I worked there) that CP is actually putting in two flats in '06 where WWL is and may add a coaster, but is likely for '07. Just a thought. Not saying this is what is going to happen. I am not a fan of rumors but thought I would pass this along.

If you could change a coaster.
Scaparri replied to Supermilk's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
-Make MF's hill before the final tunnel turn a double down to get rid of the straight track before the picture and I would throw in a small bunny hop before the final turn to once again get rid of straight track. -Turn off the brakes on the Beast. -Retrack the Texas Giant. -Shoot Wicked Twister to the top. -

What??!? LOL! It's already one of the steepest drops in the world on ANY coaster! --Robb ^Exactly!!! I'm not complaining about anything! I'm just terribly excited that what it is quite possibly going to be one of the best roller coasters ever is being built an hour and a half from me.
