  1. Ferris wheels, they scare the crap out of me...
  2. The track work have been complete for some time now. Let's all put the Premier talk to rest now, both of these coaster are made by Intamin, and that's final! Any new photo updates from this one?
  3. I was playing around with Gimp on the image that Matteo posted (of the lift hill start), and came to the conclusion that it's about 60° So with the teaser video everything points towards a lift-hill that is steeper then MF but not vertical.
  4. Thanks for that, looks more like about 60° then 90° to me
  5. Does anyone have a head on picture of the piece that connects to the lift, then we could get a definitive angle of the lift?
  6. This track system is a lot easier to manufacture (more standardized parts and less welding) which cuts the manufacturing cost compared to the Tri/Quad track. So we have: Less raw materials = savings Easier to make = savings Less parts to ship to the parks = savings Lower number of foundations = savings etc... And all these small savings will add up to a big saving in the end, making the whole thing cheaper, or in a better way of seeing it getting a larger coaster for the same kind of money.
  7. ^^ I'm with you, but I still think that the lift won't be entirely vertical, but more like 70-80°. But the rest feels pretty much spot on.
  8. andyuk200523 got it all right, and the vertical force wouldn't be as bad as the shearing force that a vertical footer would endure, especially as the other lift hill supports would share the vertical load, but none of the other ones share the horizontal load.
  9. ^ I was just going to post that... But I also claim that this is going to be an about 45° lift hill, since going any steeper then they have to reduce the length of the trains so that they would be able to hoist them up the lift. Steeper lift = more strain on the lifting device... It's more likely that the foundation at the bottom will have a 45° plane that the bottom piece will attach to. The reason why there is so little support connectors is that the truss sections are incredible strong, which would mean that they might only have a total of 3 supports on the whole lift, instead of the massive towers that MF have. But a vertical/Beyond vertical drop would be awesome
  10. I wouldn't say first, since it have the exactly same colour scheme as Montaña Infinitum at La Feria Chapultepec Magico (the old Magnum Force): http://www.rcdb.com/m/ig3605.htm Which also looks fantastic!!
  11. T-Express!! That nice -1.5 g spike in the middle of the drop is awesome!!
  12. Easily the ops we had on Goliath at our last visit to Walibi World. They were unbelievable, great fun to watch Not to forget some parks in Japan, where the ride-ops are insane
  13. ^ But even if this launch is "weaker" then Dodonpa, it's still 40 % longer in comparison which will probably make it pretty similar in intensity as Dodonpa. Too bad that they hadn't got it running when we passed by it...
  14. I'm pretty sure that I have read somewhere that S&S were forced to reduce the intensity of the launch, due to German safety regulations. So instead of a 2.67 g's (calculated) acceleration force on Dodonpa, then this will "only" have a maximum force of 2.5 g's. I have no problem with this ride launching into brakes, if they are trying to simulate an F1 ride, no F1 car will ever go into a tight turn at full speed, so breaking is part of the experience Between the Station and the launch there are some tight slow speed turns that should simulate the tire warming before the start...
  15. It depends on to what Airport you are arriving at if you can get of at Korsvägen or not. If you go to Gothenburg Landvetter Airport then the bus will stop there. But if you fly with RyanAir then you end up at Gothernburg City Airport and you have to change to a tram at Gothenburg Central Station to get to Korsvägen, it's tram no 4 (Green) towards "Mölndal", it's an 8 minute ride and costs 25 SEK in each direction... Even if I live pretty close to Gothenburg then I don't have any ideas on what to do, since I really haven't done any of the tourist stuff... But have fun at Liseberg
  16. I really love your images, they bring something else then just normal digital ones... Anyway, it was really nice to talk to you during these days, and hopefully we can meet in the future.
  17. Looks like I have to visit the TPR store soon... Ace T-shirt!!
  18. ^^ Yes 2 chains solves the problem, but it makes the whole thing twice as likely to break down. The Intamin cable lift works very well for these large coasters.
  19. WOW, that looks awesome, wonder if it rides as good as the original
  20. ^ That's why Intamin have redesigned the track/support system, just so that they are able to build bigger rides with less material. So this could really mean that we might see some other large rides in the future
  21. I really hope that this coaster don't have any inversions since that would probably mean that they are forced to use horrible OSTR restraints, which would kill the open air experience you get from the U/T- bar restraints. ^^ BTW the rumors I have heard about the "Jersey Devil"all points towards wood, so there might be another really big wooden coaster heading in that direction...
  22. Hello miss Title Fairy I was wondering if you would be so kind to give me an awesome title of your choice Thanks a lot in advance from Loefet!
  23. A Giga WOW, can't wait to see it go up, I had mu suspicions as I saw the pictures of the giant foundations that were about to go down, that this is going to be big. This would probably mean that SD2K will loose one of it's records...
  24. So far I have visited (in order of visit): Liseberg BonBon-land De Waarbeek Walibi World Drievliet Family Park Duinrell De Efteling Bobbejaanland Tover Land Mondo Verde (Nürburgring, coaster not opened yet ) Wild- und Freizeitpark Klotten Europa Park Erlebnispark Tripsdrill Holiday Park Erlebnispark Forellenhof Plohn Belantis Hansa Park Tivoli Gardens Dyrehavsbakken Tusenfryd Skara Sommarland Gröna Lund Kolmårdens Djurpark It's unlikely that there will be any more parks to this list this year, but I have a few ideas on some other ones...
