An Upgraded TPR Forum Coming Soon!
Moose replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Seeing my birthday in the wrong month in the screencap above, i decided to look at the birthday input in the new forum. Sure enough, I switched the month and the day. In the current forum, the months are listed (ie Jan Feb...) rather than the number. Is this possible with the new forum? -
Hey TPR! Merlin Entertainment recently announced that they are building Legoland Florida on the site of the former Cypress Gardens. Give us an idea of some wild and crazy Lego rethemes of stuff. Use your imagination and try to make us laugh! A couple of rules: 1. Only one entry per person. You can upload as many attempts as you like, but in the description of your one entry, you must write "Official Entry". 2. Keep it PG 13. 3. I will close the contest to new entries on the February 5th, voting will open up shortly afterwards! The winner will get a **HUGE** honkin' bag of TPR CRAP! That's all the rules! Have fun!!

Jizzman Tours the Gravity Group! IN DEPTH!
Moose replied to PKI Jizzman's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
I am not going to say these trains are awesome till they have actually taken a few spins around a coaster with riders in them. They look great, I just hope they ride as well as has been promised. I'm also glad the restraint is getting and Oh Shizza! handle. -

Jizzman Tours the Gravity Group! IN DEPTH!

^I am guessing its for the people in the row behnd to hold onto when getting in or during the ride. The seats appear to have a lot less shoulder room than I expected. -

I've tested teh chat a bit, but not with anyone else. You and I keep just missing each other in there, like two ships passing in the night. I noticed something. with the emoticons, all the standard nonTaiko emoticons are shown as able to be used, but when you use them, MOST of the time, the taiko emoticon show up with extra text around them, i.e. : : Is there a way to shut off showing the extra emoticon? If you go into chat you can see me testing almost all of the emoticons. -
I so need to go to Munich. The city looks absolutely gorgeous. The Munich Olympic Stadium is one of my favorite buildings in the world, did you guys get a chance to go to it?

Rooftop Tokyo Halfpipe coaster
Moose replied to The Doctor's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^ Not quite a "wheel". It's a shame it was removed, it was such a unique ride. I think it was the only non-round Ferris wheel ever built. -
Rooftop Tokyo Halfpipe coaster
Moose replied to The Doctor's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Does anyone know if the coaster was built at the same time as the building or if it was added on afterwards? I am sure Japan is very stringent on the permits on the building of it (as well as the removal). If the building was not originally designed for the coaster I cannot imagine what sort of forces the building would have to handle as a result of putting this on top. -
Erik & Misty's Smoky Mountain Adventures
Moose replied to Electerik's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
I call shenanigans. Either Misty is like Cher and does numerous outfit changes, or this update has pictures from several different outings. The trees make me think it the latter, but I'm not convinced. -
Tivoli Gardens Discussion Thread
Moose replied to verticalzero's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I believe this is a playground area across the lake from all of the thrill rides. After seeing everything the park has done, I have no doubt this addition will be great and only add to great park. I just hope it doesnt spoil the beauty of that side too much. -
A Credit that may just not be worth it..

That second coaster looks like it could easily chop off a limb. -
Rail Runner (Miniature)
Moose replied to FallingStar's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
It looks like a cute little coaster. One minor nitpick: There are two trains on the course with no block break between them, this should never occur. Still, a great looking itty bitty coaster. -
Just like Indiana Jones, Snakes.

This has been a great thread and it will be missed. In case I forget to say it later, good luck with the move! -
Club TPR Membership Card - VOTING!!!
Moose replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I voted for Jcrouse, Jds, and RCrider. I wanted a card that looked professional, yet still had an aspect of fun to it and I think all three succeed at that. I really loved the first version of Jcrouse's logo. -
Cedar Points "Space Spiral" Question
Moose replied to Retro_Gaga's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The Intamin drop towers at both Heide Park and Grona Lund were converted from observation towers. I am sure that the one at Cedar Point could be converted as well. It seems unlikely that the foundation could be a factor since all of the governing loads would be from wind on the tower. I for one would welcome the changeover since I love these drop rides, and it would also be much more marketable than it currently is. -
Jimmy Kimmel was awesome on Leno's now cancelled 10pm show. Here's the 10 at 10 segment. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=axwO6BkCtIo

Mitch Hawker's Coaster Poll 2009!
Moose replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Wood: 119 (most of my travels are non-us) Steel: 217 Looking at the wood list again, I cannot believe Tonnerre de Zeus fared so badly. It's no number 1, but I loved that ride. It is worlds away from its neighbor across the lake. -
Robb's Fantastic 40th Birthday Cruise!
Moose replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Love the updates, still wish I was there. This is why I would get sick. Me and my paper mache stomach would forget this and I would get violently ill. The one and only time I went on a cruise, I lost weight even though I spent half the time eating because the other half of the time... -
Wow, his joke went right over your head.
