  1. ^Exactly, and if you go to RCDB, you'll see that there are very few major coasters built this year. If a 300ft tall traditional coaster is built, then I'm guessing it will be in Europe, but for the most part, I think we will not see any coaster like Millennium Force for a long time. This is perfectly alright with me, as parks are starting to build smaller better rides.
  2. Since Parks America couldn't buy WWW, maybe they'll try to buy these parks. Unless a new company is formed, the only other possible buyers are those who own Magic Springs or Alabama Adventure. Maybe the new owners will be able to invest a lot in the parks as from what I've read on the site, the parks are not that good.
  3. Best: Going to SFGADV one night and having the longest wait be 15 minutes for El Toro Worst: kids on heelies
  4. Wow, very interesting, and the zip line sounds like something you would see in a European park and not one in America. This might just be me, but the rest sounds like the Golden Kingdom at SFGADV though, but since this is a Busch park, it will probably be even better. The rides the plan to place in this area sound like they will be fun, and to put everything they want to in the area, everything will be really close.
  5. So is White Canyon still sponsored by California? Great photos and updates so far, and it is amazing to see how different the parks are in Japan than they are in America. Bandit looks like one of the better larger coasters in Japan as most seem to do nothing.
  6. It really depends on the design of the coaster, but I like the ones with a pre-drop then a twisted drop slightly more than those with a straight drop. Now coasters like Nitro and Raging Bull have better drops due to their heights, but twisted drops are just more intense enjoyable. Did that make sense? Airtime-if a hyper had a twisted first drop, then it would be really good.-&Gravity
  7. One of the main differences is that due to European's more mature attitude, the parks can have all sorts of trampolines, crazy slides, obstacle courses, self-operated rides, and more never in America attractions. Most European Parks cater to families and focus on quality not family, and they usually put a lot of effort and capital into theming rides and building some really great rides.
  8. This is still a heavily biased award as the list almost never changes through the years. Now, Maverick is probably the years best coaster, BGE is a beautiful park, S:RoS is great, but every other category has something way better. Even BGE lose to parks like Europa of Disney Sea if given the chance.
  9. I'm really starting to like this ride more as time goes on, and as long as it is not over trimmed, then it should be a great ride. It seems as though they took Nitro and Goliath, and threw them together. Since this is for Canada, it is even better, and now there is a true thriller in that country. My only complaint is that the new trains are being tested at North America's most popular seasonal park. It seems like it would have better to test on Goliath.(SFOG or La Ronde)
  10. Looks like it was a great trip, and the photos were great. Kings Island seems to be one of those parks that can never get a great coaster despite a good collection. Sounds like service has improved over the past few years, and hopefully it continues to grow and get better.

  12. If it has to be 75 feet, the Cyclops, but at 80 feet tall, Cyclone(Lakeside) offers slightly more airtime and a better ride.
  13. Viper was running very rough(as rough as American Eagle) last time I rode it, and it seems to have a 50/50 chance of delivering a great ride or a rough one.
  14. Emenius Sleepus - Green Day
  15. ^that's it, but aren't most out-and-back coasters like that? Nice tr and photos, and it was nice to see two of Canada's relatively unknown parks. Upper Clements looks like a nice little park, and it looks like a park that any town could benefit from. While a small park,(well not for the area it is in) there seems to be enough to do to spend a few hours having fun.
  16. How did they manage to get a train moving in the first place? Sounds like the local community really cares about this park, and all these little events sound like a small victory in saving the park. I know the park is struggling, but if it was run like Lakeside in Denver, then maybe it would do better. At lakeside the kiddie and family rides open at noon with the thrill rides opening at sis, and while it doesn't make much sense, it was a nice system. If the park can get some money and continue with these events, then maybe it can reopen without the chance of closure at the end of the season.
