  1. As others have said, they really need to update their water park instead of adding a new ride. Look at Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom's water park, in 2006 it looked like Soak City, and now it looks really nice. As for anything else Cedar Point needs: a giant top spin, a water flume ride (a Mack Super Splash would be great, but Cedar Point and all the fan boys would call it a coaster), or a dark ride. I highly doubt it will be a coaster like many fan boys say since, "well Wicked Twister opened in 2002 and Top Thrill Dragster in 2003, so they will do it again", and they same people thought an Aquatrax was being built because the Dippin Dots worker said so.
  2. I feel sorry for the ride ops who will go insane having to hear the song over and over again. Well, at least Disney is adding more classics to the park, but they probably should have done it back when it opened instead of now.
  3. Disaster Transport was really strange, but I had no idea as to what the themed areas were themed to. There was no time to think about what was going on, and before I knew it, the ride was over. However, El Toro holds the record as the "most messed up" ride I've ridden. Everything about it from the fast lift to the insane airtime to the final turns was completely insane.
  4. Help! I'm locked inside my car, and my keys are outside.
  5. This is a really nice looking coaster, like an all wood Avalanche, and it has that quality that many coasters at corporate parks seem to lack. The owners seem to be putting a lot of care in to this, and it should show in the end. The updates on this are great, and they give a manageable scope on the construction of this unlike others(more of the parks fault) where a lot or nothin happens between updates. This coaster looks amazing, and for the coaster deprived Huston area, this is a great addition.
  6. Aquatrax! Considering it said 18 months of planning and construction and that it is the parks largest coaster, it is highly unlikely that that is the case. Plus Canada's Wonderland seems to have a good selection of coasters for the family anyway. This park desperately needs a good coaster, and building a large hyper is going in a good direction. This park has a lot of potential, and if CF actually invests in it, unlike Paramount, it can only get better.
  7. Do you suffer from phobophobia? If so, read other side for cure.
  8. ^Okay, my mistake I'm just happy that a new traditional mega looper is being built(is it the first one since Viper?), and hopefully more parks build some. If this works out, maybe the trend will move away from speed and back to loops and twists like the 80s/early 90s. Like I previously said, I hope they have a good selection of inversions, and hopefully they can make the inversions intense since companies seems hesitant when it comes to that.. I just hope it is built by Intamin since B&M doesn't build many super intense rides anymore, but instead build giant inversions. This will be an interesting project, and it will probably be one of the most anticipated projects of 08.
  9. Im guessing it's an out and back, so something along the lines of Nitro or Goliath(SFoG) would be great for the park. However, since it will probably be a B&M at a CF park, hopefully it is not over trimmed, and with some luck, it will have airtime. I just hope this is a sign of things to come since Canada's Wonderland, being North America's most visited seasonal amusement park, has a very mediocre coaster selection.
  10. What if they got a Screamin Squirrel? I remember they wanted to build the frequent faller back in 05, but it got canceled after Interactive Rides wanted X amount million more. As much as I'd like to see a new mega looper, I think they will use a bunch of barrel rolls to boost the count. If that is the case, then I'd rather see a euro-fighter or one of those crazy bobsled coasters. Of course since it is like a CF park in terms of theming/lack of trees(to my knowledge), maybe they could work on that and add some of S&S's new rides. Airtime-as long as it is not another damn wooden coaster-&Gravity
  11. Well the "record" for inversions is 14 with the 4d in Japan, but the park uses the Blackpool Beech approach with records. Even if it doesn't hold the record, I hope they come up with an interesting design and not just five barrel rolls to boost the count. While I would rather see a coaster like Dragon's Fury, a large multi-looper would be a nice change as few have been built since the 90s. While I'm not a big fan of this park, I have been pleased with their latest coaster creations, and hopefully they can create another decent coaster.
  12. This is one one really compact coaster, and like someone above said, it is amazing how a little parking lot turned into such a large coaster. However, it looks like it is more turns than hills, like a GCI, but it should still be a great coaster nonetheless. While there will probably be plenty of airtime, it just doesn't seem to have as many hills as I'd like. Now there are probably many hills inside the structure,(so don't get upset and think I'm stupid) but from the outside, it seems to have a few too many turns. Granted, since it is a compact space, there will be a lot of turns, but Balder and Viper are also compact, yet they have plenty of airtime and turns when needed. Edit: I just looked at the rendering again, and there are more hills than I thought, and there appears to be more airtime than I previously thought there would be.
  13. So will this be able to have a legitimate claim as Canada's largest coaster or will it have a lot of pointless filler? -cough Marineland cough- If this is a hyper, I assume it will just be, but it would be great if they build a world class coaster as Canada has only a few.(only Mindbender) Of course, since the park is run by Cedar Fair, it will be trimmed to hell, but this should easily be the parks best coaster. As far as the ride goes, I would guess no more than 225ft tall, a top speed of 70-80mph, and a mile in length max.
  14. According to screamscape, Deja vu at Great America will be removed at the end of the season. I know that it is still iffy at operation, but it is a big crowd pleaser. I don't ride it that often, but it would be a big blow to the park as everyone tall enough wants to ride it. If they want to remove a coaster, then Iron Wolf would be a better choice as no one rides that piece of crap. If it is removed, then hopefully they replace it with a Screamin' Swing and not a spin-n-puke. http://www.screamscape.com/html/six_flags_great_america.htm
  15. Yeah, many of the smaller Six Flags suck because it is easy to tell they were once great parks, but since coming under Six Flags control, quality has declined. I'm not saying this about all Six Flags parks(Great Adventure, Great America, and St. Louis are great), but the smaller ones would be better off if they were family owned. Granted, if a park is struggling, then Six Flags coming in to "fix" it is a good thing, as in the general publics' eyes, if it's run by Six Flags, then it is better than before. Nice little tr, and the video was really good.
  16. Because he knew people would buy a crappy computer system...wait, that's not random, that's fact. Why does Elissa like Balder more than rodents?
  17. Great tr Erik, and the opinions seem pretty accurate for the coasters. Although their were a few surprises(Meteor), they seem pretty standard for a non-fanboy.. The photos were great, and the captions were also good.
