  1. It was forty years ago today that guests left Riverview for the last time.
  2. It just amazes me at how large the whole Ski Dubai building is. In America we would never have anything of that size, and it is amazing at what they managed to put in there. Airtime-so that's what gas prices pay for-&Gravity
  3. What's My Age Again? - Blink-182
  4. You have to love New York City's horrible overpriced rail system. Good tr and photos, and Playland looks like a nice classic park. With the exception of Super Flight it sounds like there is a decent ride collection. Whenever I see photos of Dragon Coaster, it just amazes me at how large it is despite its' age.
  5. Batman: The Ride The ride seemed to shake a lot, but overall it was still great.
  6. Wow, very sad, my condolences go out to his family. Sad to hear about the accident, and it will be strange not to have him on the site anymore.
  7. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Ride Tek the replacement to Zamperla or Pinfari? This is a great starter coaster, and hopefully this new company is a success. Let's just hope this company makes smooth coasters and doesn't turn into the new Vekoma.(since Vekoma seems to make good rides now)
  8. I was searching rcdb, and I ran across this. This Tivoli is not the famous Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen, but instead a smaller park in Århus, Denmark. The coaster will be called Cobra, and it will be a compact inverted coaster. Ride Tek's Compact Invert Page RCDB Coaster Page RCDB Park Page
  9. About forty years ago on Labor Day weekend, a great park closed. Riverview 1904-1967 Airtime-well, it looks like a Cedar Fair park now all paved over-&Gravity
  10. Wait, are you serious? 1. Let's say 500 people donate/invest. For a small park, let's say Timber Falls size, it would require an average donation of at least $20000. After construction costs, you still have to pay bills and wages.(people won't work for free you know) 2. Why? 3. Why? 4. Why? 5. Why? 6. Are you serious? 7. Why? 8. Where would it go?(I didn't put the price of land into the donation/investment.) 9. Why? 10. Why? Sorry if I sound like a jerk, but why? Okay, maybe I was a little harsh, and if there was a responsibly person managing it, then it might work. I just don't think ordinary people would want to invest in a risky business. Sorry about being rude, but it just makes no sense. Airtime-Let's build a wild west theme park in Kansas-&Gravity
  11. ^Exactly, and maybe when Kinzel retires, the new CEO will realize that if you trim a coaster to hell, then it will not be very fun. If Mean Streak was re-tracked and not trimmed, then it could be a decent coaster.(I'm sure it was re-profiled over the years, so that would need to be fixed too.) It looks like an amazing coaster with its' size and location, plus it is long so the GP will wait for it. As for Six Flags, 2008 seems to be a big year as the new owners have had enough time to plan where to take the company besides signing a business deal with every major corporation. If it is true that eight "new" coasters will be added(the SLC, B:TR and Ultra Twister aren't new), then it seems that they are confident with what they are doing.(although, did Six Flags ever open eight coaster in a year before 2006?) I just hope they don't overuse the same coaster like B:TR and place a wild mouse at every park.
  12. It is basically a high tech water coaster produced by Intamin, and the only one built is like a highly themed LIM/LSM launched coaster in South Korea. There isn't really anything that sets it apart from other coasters, and it was just a joke on the site when everyone was guessing what Maverick would be.
  13. Nice photos, and that looks like a nice unknown park. I haven't heard much about the park(Tremors I'd heard about), and it looks like a nice family owned park. This might just be me, but the park seems to be missing the one ride to make it more known.(seems like a park that could have a SLC)
  14. 4/10, but I've never seen Rollercoaster, and I don't know names unless they have/had a major role in the industry.
  15. Star Song-Bowling for Soup
  16. If Great America does decide to build a coaster, then what could it be? The area taken up by Splash Water Falls and Great American Raceway is not that big of an area, and SF has three family coasters(Sprocket Rockets, Ragin Cajun and Whizzer), so I don't see another one being added. The only coaster that comes to mind that could possibly fit in a spot that small would be a euro-fighter the size of Rage or possibly Typhoon. However, as much as I'd like a euro-fighter at Great America, I doubt it will happen.
  17. Wow, you're in Japan already? I thought there were still a few weeks until the trip. Your Japan trips always have great trip reports, and it is amazing how crazy it is over there.
  18. "I haven't lost my mind, it's backed up on a disk somewhere."
