  2. ^Sorry, but I doubt you'll see a mile long dive machine for some time. They just are not the design you build long coasters with, and Sheikra/Griffin are long enough. I'm just expecting a small to medium size coaster that the entire family can ride. One of those crazy bobsled coasters or a euro-fighter would be great in my opinion.
  3. No guesses? The coaster was Whirlwind at Seabreeze. Photo taken by Derek Oh well, someone else can go now.
  4. The drop looks amazing, and at 85*, it should be one of the best drops on any coaster. Now, if riders are stapled in, then it might not be so great, but even if riders are, it should still be one great drop. Now that more time has passed, I like the ride more. I still don't think it is B&M's best, but it looks like their second or third best hyper.

  6. Way back in 2004, I was really excited that CF was buying the park, but CF just seems to be killing the park slowly. I can see them not wanting competition near their flagship park, but Cedar Fair should at least care about the park. No mechanical rides have been added since Six Flags ran it, and if the current SF management ran it back in 2004, there is no way in hell it would have been sold. Granted, when Six Flags took the animals, the park was screwed, but Cedar Fair could at the very least have turned it into a SFSTL/SFKK park,(I happen to really like these parks) but they think building a large water park and adding corn hole is suitable for the park. If Cedar Fair is only killing the park because attendance is declining, then they should remove their focus from building a huge water park and adding corn hole. When I read more about the park(I knew little about it), I wanted to go to it, but now I would skip it even if I had time. It is just depressing to see how such a great park has gone downhill in three years. Six Flags had a great park, and they sold one of their better ones when they could have sold Darien Lake for probably around the same price. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I remember reading something on this site about the park pulling in something like 2+ million when it was under SF ownership, and now it can't even bring in 1 million despite its location.
  7. Nice tr, good photos, great video, and over all looks like a fun day.(aside from the horrible CF operations) Maverick looks like a really fun coaster, and while not as good as everyone says, the other coasters look pretty fun too. The weather didn't agree with you, but it looks like you had fun waiting for the park to reopen. Airtime-Chicago traffic is bad, but New York's is worse-&Gravity
  8. While I'm not a huge fan of the layout, it seems too big, it looks like a lot of fun. I've wanted to go to this park for a while, and if I have the time next time I'm up by Toronto, I'm definitely going to make a stop. However, since Cedar Fair owns the park, it will probably be trimmed to hell, but it still looks like a lot of fun nonetheless.
  9. Batman & Robin: The Chiller-decided to ride Kingda Ka and El Toro again Mind Eraser-wanted to leave Darien Lake as soon as possible Opa-wanted to leave Mt. Olympus as soon as possible and any coaster larger than Gemini at Cedar Point since...well, I didn't want to ride them at the time even though with the exception of MF and TTD, there was no wait.
  10. ^I'm guessing that that means a disk-o. I doubt the new Six Flags would build two coasters at the same park in consecutive years.
  11. Very nice, but it kind of seems like a rushed design. All of the elements are really large, and I think it would have been better with some more turns and smaller hills. It still looks fun though, and this should easily be the parks best coaster.
  12. While I would like to see a floorless coaster, I have been disappointed with B&M's newer looping coasters, and as a result, I would prefer a true hyper. Canada needs a standout coaster (Canada's Wonderland just needs a good coaster), and a hyper would give me a reason to go to the park. However, if Cedar Fair decided to seriously re-track the wooden coasters/other major coaster improvements, then I would have a reason to go too. I just hope it isn't a very simple out-and-back coaster like Canada's other "hyper" coaster.
  13. ^Maybe I have just been able to hit it on a dead day each time I visit. It just seems that all of the smaller seem to have more mature guests, but SFGADV wasn't bad either, so maybe I just notice it more at Great America. Now, most groups I see do behave well, but it just seems like a few groups who decide to break the rules ruin it for the entire age group. Where the group comes from makes a difference too, because chances are, a church or small town group are not going to behave as bad as those from a more heavily urban/inner city area. Don't take this the wrong way, but those who seem to behave poorly come from the latter group.
  14. Intamin easily makes the best wooden coasters, and from what I've seen, GCI seems to be in second place. Gravity Group still needs a few years in my opinion, but they are quickly showing their maturity as a major company.(do you understand what I mean?)
  15. Now, not all groups are bad, but all too often I see a group of teenagers try to use the bandage on the ankle so all of us don't have to wait in line, constant cursing/acting gangster, attitude like they own the park, and act like it is their right to do whatever the hell they want to. Now not all groups are bad(most are good, and this one group I've seen my past couple of visits behave great), but there are those groups who make the day unpleasant. I think it is great that teenagers go to the park as they are a big part of the yearly attendance, but if Six Flags is trying to make the parks more family friendly, they have to monitor the large groups. One final thing is that location might be a part too, as I have never seen a group of teenagers at Six Flags St. Louis behave like they do at Great America.
  16. I doubt it will be a ball coaster/zac spin because, why the hell would Cedar Point leave blueprints out on their next attraction when a camera crew was present?

  18. ^Just a Zamperla cage of death I'm guessing that the image is just to promote the ride, and I think that the ride will be a standard sit down hyper as the park has nearly every other coaster type.
