Green Vekoma track
Airtime&Gravity replied to aviadigit's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^I know it isn't mine train track, but the track could still be going to the park for a coaster that hasn't been announced yet. Alton Towers is a possibility, but I'm sticking with Intamin for SW6. Of course, I think it is most likely that this is just for a kiddie/family coaster that will just go to some local European park. -
Green Vekoma track
Airtime&Gravity replied to aviadigit's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
According to RCDB, there is a park being built in Italy called WondeRome. It is confirmed to have a Vekoma mine train, and RCDB lists a website that shows a launched Intamin and a Gerstlauer spinning coaster. However, the website listed won't take you to the correct page anymore. So this could be another park that could receive this coaster. WondeRome on RCDB -
Yeah, if this will be a serious marathon where you will be riding continuously for hours, see a doctor before attempting it. There shouldn't be any problems, but better safe than sorry. Also, if you do end up doing it, you should probably take breaks every X number of rides so that you don't get sick and get a chance to rest.

The blue side of American Eagle has been open some of the days that I've gone this year. However, I think one of the trains is in rehab, so it only races 50% of the time when the ride ops are willing to let it. Some of the times, there might be something like a 30 second difference between the times the trains leave the station, but the trains will race again a few trips later. The time difference between when the trains leave the station seems to arise when there are problems with people getting on (trying to bring prizes on), getting off(restraints get stuck every time), and most often both.

Carowinds Discussion Thread
Airtime&Gravity replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^So you only like Raging Bull? If that is the design, then this could be another really good ride. It won't be an Expedition GeForce or Bizarro, but it will still be a good ride that most people who visit the park will have probably have never ridden. The only thing is that I hope the final design has a few more airtime hills after the mid-course. -
Name That Park!!
Airtime&Gravity replied to CoasterExpert13's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^Yeah, your turn Wow, I really need to pick more difficult pictures. -
They could fit a coaster above Iron Wolf where the Wilderness Theater and picnic grove are. I don't think the Wilderness Theater is used much, and the events held there could easily be held in the Southwest Amphitheater. The picnic grove is also really really big, so taking a small part of it out probably wouldn't affect it much. So has anyone been in the new Cyber Cafe yet? The crepes are probably the best food value in the park. They are $5, and pretty big. I've had them twice, but the most recent time, they didn't have/put in any jelly, so I was able to actually finish it. The cookies are also a good value. The only thing is, the place is pretty small, so it is going to be packed when the crowds pick up.

Since someone took my turn a few pages back: -
Ummm, do you read the signs outside the entrance to a coaster? You know the one that says not to ride if you have back problems. A ride on Raging Bull might make a back problem worse, it might not. Use your judgment to decide whether or not you can ride. If you do ride though, don't be an @$$ and sue the park for making the injury worse.

Name That Park!!
Airtime&Gravity replied to CoasterExpert13's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Belantis I remember reading on RCDB, just checked again, that the park is built on an old industrial site. -
While I liked the old sign more, I don't have a problem with the new sign. Six Flags should just stain the lighter wood so that it matches the old supports. While it might belong in the rumor thread, are there still a lot of orange markers spray painted in the area by Sky Treak Tower, the old Space Shuttle America site, and go-karts?

Guests Stuck on RCT2
Airtime&Gravity replied to andre8's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
Is this in a park you created or downloaded? When I first created a park, I remember I had the same problem, and it is because of the guest entry point. Go back to scenario editor, and replace the spawn point. If it is a park you downloaded, I don't know what to do, as I've had the same problem. -
The Legacy of Summers/Dinn
Airtime&Gravity replied to Movieguy's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Weren't a lot of the Dinn coasters considered some of the best when they opened? While some blame might go to them, I think a lot of the blame goes to maintenance. The rides are/were some of the largest around, so park's probably aren't/weren't wiling to pay the high maintenance costs if they would just have to do it again next year. The only thing I could see blaming Dinn for would be if he used lower quality materials for the track and/or train. Even there though, a park with a good maintenance department would be able to fix the problems with better quality parts when the time came. -
Cowabunga Bay waterpark
Airtime&Gravity replied to montezooma's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Sorry the weather was bad, but then as has been said before, all opening days have their problems. At least you sold a lot of season passes, which should mean a lot of non-season pass holders visiting. So your park should be really popular, and it looks great. -
Your park looks amazing, and the flyer looks really good. The scenery is really good and the coasters look realistic, but there doesn't seem to be much besides the coasters. Maybe you could try to add some more non-coaster rides so that the park won't seem so overwhelmed by the coasters. Edit: Just went through some previous pages, and there are more flat rides than I thought. There still seems to be a lack of them though, but even with that, this park is still better than anything I can come up with.

V2's line on Memorial Day was pretty bad. The wait time was at least an hour, but that was expected as the park was busy. What made the wait bad though was the weather. It was cloudy that day, but while I'm waiting, it begins to rain. It isn't pouring, but it is an annoyance. On top of that it was chilly, and me being stupid, forgot to bring a sweatshirt. I figured it would be relatively nice during the day with it being colder at night like the previous day. So I'm cold, wet, and in an hour-plus long wait, but the one good part was that after I get into the station, it begins to rain harder. I'm surprised the coaster stayed open actually, since, even though it wasn't pouring, it would probably still hurt to ride during the shower. Also, was V2's queue expanded? It now goes along the boardwalk type area behind some shops and restaurants. I hadn't ridden V2 since 2007, and I had been using flashpasses every time since 2005.

PTR : Blast Across the Midwest
Airtime&Gravity replied to davidmorton's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
When you were at Timber Falls, did you see a sign that said an unlimited ride pass only allowed six rides on Hellcat/Avalanche? Nice photos and trip report though, and it looks like you had a good time. As for the buses at Great America, there are always a lot of buses there during the summer, but at least the queue lines still moved quickly. -
Flamingoland Mumbo Jumbo TR
Airtime&Gravity replied to RedSpecial's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Nice trip report, and Flamingo Land looks to be a lot nicer than I remember. Corkscrew stands out, not in a good way, and hopefully the park owners fix up the ride so that it doesn't look so bad. Either that, or they could scrap it which wouldn't be a bad thing considering that it is an old Vekoma corkscrew. Nice photos though, and Mumbo Jumbo looks like it should be a decent ride. Even though it isn't very big, it still looks fairly intimidating because of the drop and other unique elements. -
