  1. Yea I hate school cause I got chicken pox from there we have the Acela trains in the northeast (D.C. to Boston) they reach 150mph in spots but usually go 120mph-130mph but IMO they are not as comfortable as the regular Amtrak coaches JEFF
  2. Well I had to work this train a few times last year and decided to take pics figured some of you train buffs would enjoy these. Sorry about them taken at night but thats when we moved the train. Pics were taken around 2:30am while everyone is sleeping. Also some nice pics over the James River for more info and pics http://www.americanorientexpress.com/ JEFF Train 89 Easily the prettiest view to Florence SC Crossing the James River in Richmond Train I rode back home on Me Chillin' in the dome car Back of Train Dome Car Dining Car Piano/Bar Car
  3. I liked King Kong alot.....first hour kind of dragged on for too long with "character development" But it was soooo worth it for the T-Rex fight scene. probably one of my favorite scenes of all time. Now the bug crawling scene afterwards I could have done without...made my skin crawl. JEFF
  4. Well I do not think anything is going to change....plain and simple.....money talks. I do have to give them credit though giving it one more year so people can go one more time. Many owners would have leveled the place this past winter. I have many fond memories of always driving by when we were on vacation when I was a kid and the Corkscrew looked sooooo cool and all the lights shining in the salty air. While it is not the best park by any means.... it is a fun place and has a good atmosphere and I have many good memories and I plan to go back this year for a few more. JEFF
  5. OK you asked for it alot of "rare" shots and note the pic of what wild one's turnaround used to look like. JEFF suck! awesome Python
  6. Have you ever seen how massive Shivering Timbers is? It has to have at least 3X the materials of Ozark. http://www.angelfire.com/mn/RunawayMT/1/100pt2.html Just to get an idea. That is why I stated "But still that is alot more wood"..................... and yes I have seen it, ridden it, bored me to tears but thats another thread JEFF
  7. Tetris DS....finally beat the marathon! level 20/200 lines JEFF
  8. Me and a friend were discussing this once and I imagine a straight out and back is cheaper due to using ALL of the board of wood for the track. (But still thats alot more wood) Also I think you pay for what you get...Most CCI's did not impress me too much and it seems like they were built to be great rides for one season, They all seem like maintenance nightmares. IMO I think a GCI is a far more quality product. JEFF
  9. So they did alright finacially?...the Divorce was the ONLY reason? JEFF
  10. I have heard a couple different stories but just wondering if anybody knew the real truth. JEFF
  11. No they do not...they have some things for season passholders on wed's during the summer but that is it.....I can not commit to anything at this time cause I am on call 24/7 except fridays...are you driving down on friday? If I can make it I can PM SES and let her know if ya'll are meeting up and I can meet you guys somewhere....but like I said...my schedule is too crazy to commit to till usually the night before or the day of JEFF
  12. I Agree, I thought The Village was a great movie.....bout soiled myself at the "woods" scene. I was kinda disapointed that certain things were not what I expected. but it was a very good movie. JEFF
  13. Richmond Riverdogs VS Adirondack Frostbite -April 7, 2006 Me and Chris (Mforce79) met up and headed out and scored a free parking spot a block away from the Richmond Coliseum. Well it was a pretty good game Final score was 3-1 Frostbite over the Riverdogs (Frostbite's final goal was an empty netter with 1 second left) Riverdogs were clinging to a 1-0 lead for 2 periods but let it slip away in the 3rd . Here are the photos from our Dude's night out. JEFF Our last gasp.......came up empty Following faceoff Taken seconds before the Frostbite tied it up please go in pileup The Ice Smoothers Eat Ice pansie THE Biggest Mouths EVER!!!! (The Frostbite did not like these rabid fans) Please go in! Oh NO here they come! Hockey As you can see we are a serious and popular team Yummy & Sticky! I think this guy was in the battle of the bulge Food Court..we spent about an hour chillin' out here before the game Note the well maintained sidewalk and beautiful landscaping! Ever wonder how those toilets in the upper deck work? The new Phillip Morris research Center across the street (to figure out why our customers keep dying) The Richmond Coliseum-Ugly ain't it?
  14. Smash by: The Offspring probably best describes me It basically says that I do not give a crap what you think of me and I am not a conformist. JEFF
  15. My wife loves Heathers...I think it is alright...its pretty funny JEFF
  16. It amazes me all that crap they do to mount plain old Home video cameras.... Discovery channel and Robb got the right idea..Duct tape and a lipstick cam. Thanks for the pics Johnny.....ride looks great JEFF
  17. I still would rather have the B&M from the 90's....I hate to see trims every 500ft on coasters. Sheikra looks fun...but Dive Machines do not look too impressive to me...I do not like the whole idea of the holding brake....just seems like this "anticipation" card they play is B.S. to me....I would rather just whip right over the drop. It just seems like a 90 degree drop is not as OMG as it was back in 1998 (or maybe it is just cause I have a 90 degree drop coaster at my home park.) B&M's just are not as intense as they were......... JEFF
  18. Curious to see what pro sports you guys like. I Love Football...I follow everything about it Hockey and Baseball I only find interesting during the playoff push and postseason. I like certain races in Nascar and follow occasionally I also enjoy watching Tennis I hate Basketball, Soccer and Golf JEFF
  19. In the 90's you would ALWAYS see Viper constantly in every show, movie, commercial whatever....80's it was always collosus...I remember thinking they had to be the best coasters in the world since they were always on TV and the movies in the 21st century so far It is really hard to pick one coaster in california that is famous still (I think most people on the east coast do not even know there is a Disney park in California)....I am just going by what people would actually see in the media. JEFF
  20. pretty cool...I think it will be rare in the states.....What kind of launch is it??...anyone know? JEFF
  21. Busch Gardens Europe!!!!!! for the 5th time!!!! in the last 6 years....pathetic new shows do not count as far as I am concerned (oh yea..and they lost 2 coasters in that time frame as well) JEFF
  22. Well My Wife won that battle Just found out she is pregnant with our 2nd Child!!!!.. Probably due in December sometime. Oh boy another Hellian! JEFF
  23. Well these are 2 of my favorite parks but I have to go with CP cause I could spend a week there and not be bored....where as I could maybe spend about 2 days at IOA and be satisfied. Coasters have much more Re-rideability appeal than stuff like Spiderman or Jurrasic park. JEFF
