  1. Geez that got a little crazy......I like airtime but I like other things better...I love MAINTAINED speed and high banks and that is why MF is my Fav but if I loved airtime MF would not be my Fav. I mean I could see how somebody would like a Boomerang better than MF....If somebody loves going backwards and inversions...then a Boomerang would be their choice of ride...right. I think it is weird that alot of people say "I love MF cause of the airtime"...yes the first drop is amazing and has alot...but that is really it... the 3 other hills have floater air at best.....MF was not built for airtime...it was built for height and speed IMO As for CP, the atmosphere of the park gets me everytime (rides and coasters everywhere, beach setting, happy park guests, hot chicks) and I prefer the classic midway and lit up midway at night to any "theme park" including IOA (not saying I do not like IOA BTW) JEFF
  2. Glad to see you guys had a good time even in the monsoon...well my train (Amtrak) suffered big time cause of the storm and the storm wiped out our signals so we had to go from Fredericksburg to Richmond at 15mph...and by the time I got off work it was POURING and thundering at 7:30 so..... sorry I missed you guys but glad to see you had fun. looking forward to the pics JEFF
  3. I just picked this up at waldenbooks for $13 the other day The NEW and Revised edition with great new pics of Kingda Ka,Hades and Sheikra and other new for 2005 coasters GREAT photos and reading....the perfect coffe table book. JEFF
  4. Well...remember the pavilion is NOT the only thing on the Grand Strand You have the small but good woodie Swamp fox bout 4 blocks away also and you have the beach and some of the best putt putt in the world...But I say go for it...since it will not be there again and you will probably regret it after the place is leveled....the owners gave us a year for a reason JEFF
  5. come on Elissa...there is only one helix on Goliath JEFF
  6. Sorry........ did a search but did not see that ..last post was 13 months ago and you know how many results came up with favorite pics/photos? JEFF
  7. Please only post pictures you have taken YOURSELF and a little insight as to why you think it is your best pic. Remember not a pic of the best coaster but the best Picture (It could even be of Manhattan Express ) Here is mine...Mantis in 1996....the structure and Sky was so vivid with color, the trains were spotless...you can see people's faces and did I mention the Sky? JEFF
  8. FAR and away the best for me is Married With Children...cracks me up everytime. other favs: Southpark Simpsons TAXI Home Improvement Roseanne Night Court Family Guy Sex and the city...(grew on me cause it is my wifes FAV) Favorites as a Kid (that I still watch on DVD occasionally) Transformers TMNT Ren & Stimpy Fraggle Rock JEFF
  9. yes it is free to vote JEFF
  10. I think they are getting really weird about this crap now....I get the impression though that they are going to sing "popular" songs with him as another "coach" (like they mentioned that dude did with Celine and others) Did anybody else get the feeling that Rod's singing sucks now.....I liked some of his songs in the 70's but he just sounds BAD...like he smokes way too much or something. (But obviously not bad enough that he couldn't get and knock up a hot chick 1/3 his age!) I seriously believe the bottom 3 thing is a sham now.......no way could kelly get more votes than chris and paris (who was actually good the other night) I think they pick popular people to be in the bottom 3 just to make the show "interesting".......its all about the "shock value" of Reality TV. JEFF
  11. It was not songs by Rod Stewart...he was the "guest coach" this week...he has done a series of albums lately about the great american songbook and the shows theme was that...Classic songs from the golden age 20's & 30's I believe...and it was actually a really good show.....results tonight I am thinking kelly or Ace are gone tonight. JEFF
  12. Fanatic...when you say Wheel assemblys move all around did you mean the Chasis joint moves around?...Cause I still do not understand that quote...the wheel assemblys seem pretty rigid to me looking at those scream pics. JEFF
  13. Yea I kind of got out of being "involved in the coaster community" for those very reasons....Most Enthusiasts act like critics and spend way too much time analyizing every little thing a park does and I started to get that way and it just was not fun anymore. I used to read RRC alot and posted there a long time ago but it got really bad with all the personal crap that went on and he does this and he does that (Robb knows). Now I go to have fun and going with my son and nephew to PKD last summer really opened my eyes and made me think about how Awesome parks were when it was a BIG deal to go and you had such a great time. And last time I went to PKD I didn't really want to wait for any of the rides so I grabbed my camcorder and went all around the park filming the rides and peoples reactions to them and even something as "tame" as the log flume brings out the biggest happiest smiles from most people and I get some strange satisfaction in watching that. JEFF
  14. Maybe you guys are right but I am just not getting a good visual picture of this.... I know they are "trailored" in that they are attched to the one in front and so on...but the wheel assembly moving in all directions?????? (I know they flex foward and backward a little bit) That makes no sense to me at all....what I am really trying to say is if you had just one inverted car on the track it would stay on the track not like an arrow car where one half is not supported...one set of B&M wheels can support the whole car...where as one set of Arrow wheels cannot.....right? Also on your first comment Fanatic....wouldnt that mean the first 2 rows would be rough......since the assemblys do not "move in all directions" If you could find some kind of picture to better explain this it would be a big help. Edit: thank you V2 dude...that is the point I was trying to make about them just staying upright......I think we are all confusing each other with the "trailering" definition ---I am thinking cannot support itself and NEEDS the car infront to stay upright. JEFF
  15. I am usually all for it is his/her opinion but anybody that does not pick the 1st Jaws is WRONG! JEFF
  16. if that was the case you would need a set of wheels on the back of the train like on an arrow train, A B&M invert could still run without the different setup in the front. the entire Weight of the car is supported directly under (or over) the running wheels...you could still run theroetically (sp) ONE car around the track and nothing would drag. BTW each B&M inverted car has 2 axles/Technically 4 axles (4 wheels) JEFF
  17. I never understood why some of you guys say that about TR but nobody says anything about Acrophobia...Worst ride ever....maybe TR doesnt bother me cause I already lost my nuts on Acrophobia JEFF A CHICK designed this ride!!!!!!!
  18. Go to Myrtle Beach.....Mini Golf Heaven....I could spend a month there playing putt putt and still not play all the awesome courses. JEFF
  19. I will add my opinion on the subject and I am sure alot of people will disagree...but I have been going to BGW since 1987 and the park has seen much better days....to me the park is VERY boring aside from the 4 coasters without the coasters it is a Old person park...very boring and average rides that EVERY other park has...If you just LOVE seeing flowers in person than BGW is the place for you. Dark Castle is alright but just confusing and not that impressive to me. If you like more rides than choose PKD but Like I said the (only) 4 Coasters at BGW are great but that is really all that is there in terms of rides. I would probably think BGW is a great park if I had only been once or twice but the park is very boring when it is so close and the operations of the coasters used to be top notch (trains running, speed of ops)...now it just sucks But look at pictures and videos and see for yourself...what rides would interest you the most. and if possible do both they are both good parks. JEFF
  20. B&M inverts are not trailored...every other on ehas no need for it. JEFF
  21. If you do not think your HW pics are High quality then maybe you need a good pair of glasses JEFF
