The Best Woodie under 75 feet Tall
pkdcoaster replied to MagnumForce's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I thought The Outlaw at Advendureland was Awesome (in 1998) given its small size (a mere 67 ft) with great changes of direction, airtime and speed. An awesome small coaster and really the first GCI! (even though he was with CCI at the time) JEFF -

Very sad reading this one again, You could tell he really loved coasters. Such a shame he did not get to reach his goal before the end of the year. RIP JEFF -
Canada's Wonderland Discussion Thread
pkdcoaster replied to BDG's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Well I am happy for Wonderland, they were in dire need of a big new coaster IMO 1991-2008 is an awful long drought for a Big thrilling GOOD coaster. I have mixed feelings about the trains Pro- Trains are ALOT longer, so you will get much better airtime in the front and back Con- I do agree that the seating arangement sucks big time and it is like having 16 "single" seats is bad, I never heard anyone complain about 4 abreast seating before but I think alot of groups of 3 or 4 will think the train design sucks. Layout has alot of potential depending on MCBR and trims. Hopefully CF will see that big coasters bring in big crowds from the toronto area and they will keep building Big coasters for Paramounts red headed stepchild. JEFF -
Amusement today is still around but you will never find it in any stores. http://www.amusementtoday.com/ It is just a thing of the internet being a much better source and coaster lovin is not mainstream enough to be on newsstands. nobody wants to read about that, they wanna know who knocked up this celebrity who is cheating on their husband while back in rehab. pkdcoaster replied to Wes's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Rumor has it around Richmond is that Dominator (AKA Batman Knight Flight) is coming to KD and will be built in the Bus parking lot. I would love to have this ride at my home park, It is a great ride. but rumors are going around that this ride will be moved to almost every CF park. -
Transformers: The Movie Trailer Released!
pkdcoaster replied to robbalvey's topic in Random, Random, Random
Well I had a layover in Newport News today so I went and saw it and it was REALLY good. I was surprised how funny it was on top of all the action. A couple things bothered me at first like bumblebee not being a VW bug. (seemed like something they could easily incorporate) But it was a great movie and made me feel like a kid all over again. Can't wait for the inevitable sequel. Not a bad 5 day opening, estimate at over $152 mil. Since I know you are a big fan Robb, I would like to hear your opinion on it after you see it. JEFF -

They have done this for a while now. every 4 hours (2pm and 6pm) Maint. checks each bag of every train to make sure no bolts or wheels are in there. (not kidding) The bags are right under each wheel assembly and are there to catch any debris that could fall and hit a rider. I have never seen this done on any other suspended. JEFF

Some New pics I snapped yesterday. They have extended the que area all the way back along the new Bistro patio (Still No Shade!!! ) She has broken in nicely in the last week and a half. I can really feel stronger air and the antirollbacks pop now on the bunny hop before the splash so it has definitely picked up a little speed. I finished a music video which can be found here http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=36027 Enjoy, JEFF -

Awesome Pics as usual! Did I spot a reverse pov video system on Raptor? Was it working? Congrats you guys! JEFF -
They are both equally & Uniquely (sp?) Awesome in my eyes. (although they do have their faults) Almost All of the Major Busch Coasters have changed so much over the last 10 years, it is hard to judge them. I just don't understand why all the other Busch parks have kiddie coasters except THE coaster parks My son always says he wants to ride a coaster at BGE. you would think they would have one by now since they are so "Family Friendly". Yes BGE has said this is preview week and it will be open from now on. One of the trains I was riding in the back far right and right when we hit the water i got a blast of water up my back. and on the left side of the train you get alot of "drip" action heading into the brake run JEFF -

pkdcoaster replied to pkdcoaster's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Hi Everybody, Thanks for the compliments. I will try to answer everybody's questions BGE has many signs up now about no cameras on rides now, so no POV. But I plan to take my camcorder there within the week to shoot footage for a music video so look for that in the next couple of weeks. Yes that was a black Snake that just wandered onto the sidewalk (stairs and hill right by the Rhine River Cruise) This kid got right in his face and his dad screamed at him. he was not poisinous but he can still bite. No water bottles but they do have a water fountain in the que for Griffon and after a 45 minute downtime the line ended up being for a drink of water! I only rode twice on Sunday (luckily I was assigned the front both times) I got 15 rides on Thursday night at the VIP party Yes they do Assign rows so good luck on getting the front!! I did write my review of the ride in the official Griffon thread if you want to read it. If anybody wants the high quality full size pic for a wallpaper or whatever just shoot me a PM with your E-mail and what pic you would like. JEFF -

More pics of the new Beast at BGE (and some other good pics from today) Enjoy, JEFF This guy slithers right in front of me! awesome timing!! -
Well, I Went to BGE today just to ride Griffon with the GP and I got to the gate at 9:50 and power walked back to Griffon and to my surprise there was already a 40min wait for Griffon (Wow!). Now MANY people were VERY pissed with the new bag policy and security at the ride and they had every right to be! Imagine getting in line by the Skyride entrance, waiting in line for 15-20min. till you get to the front entrance to be told you must put that in a locker, fine, These people would go pay $1 (outrageous and this tells me this is just a $$ making scam, rant for another day) They would accept the fact that they lost about 15 places in line and go back to the front entrance "sorry you have to go to the end of the line" WTF!! So you just waited a half an hour to put your crap in a locker. There was almost a fight between this guy and the security guy and even the people in line were behind the guest and yelling at the guard. needless to say within the hour they were at the front of the line letting people know. I will give the Griffon crew this, They were SMOKIN FAST! in the morning but kinda cooled off in the afternoon. I got in line for my 2nd ride of the day at about 2 and it was down but they just started cycling empty trains. They cycled empty trains for over 30 mins!!!!! and there is NO shade in the overflow que and there is no "solid" roof on the covered Que houses which is so stupid, So I got a tan. The ride is great and a big crowd pleaser but I hope all this mess will be fixed after the hoopla dies down. Can't wait for the new coaster in 2015! Enjoy the pics, JEFF also added a video of the floor retrating since it is nothing like the other floorless coasters. See I got very lucky on this skyride trip Can you blame them, its been over 8 years since there was a new coaster

My Ride Review: I was lucky enough to go to the VIP party for Griffon last night and what a party it was! Free Dinner, Desert, Beer and walk on rides on Griffon. I got 15 rides (6 in the front) in just under 3 hours. I didnt bring my camera cause the forecast was for some rain (it held off) and it was at night but they had really cool Ice sculptures out of the rides logo and of the beast diving. I hope somebody got pictures of them. Well the ride is very fun and Glass smooth. On My first ride I was not too impressed but it got alot better as the night rolled on. My favorite seat is front far left. It is an awesome feeling hanging out so far from the track. The left side has more forces through the Immelmans and airtime coming onto the MCBR. There is some airtime on the bunny hill before the splash pool and a slight pop coming into the final brakes. I wish the action was more constant on the ride (MCBR brings you to an almost stop) But the Big drop on the outer seats in the front is an experience not to be missed. Thats another thing there was a sign in the que house saying that "due to high demand for the front, riders may be assigned rows" The que for the ride is very small, it is easily gonna be spilling out into the midway in no time this year. It is a great addition to the park and Very different from the other coasters there. and it will be a big hit. I still like the other B&M's there better but this one is still great. Other notes: On the left side of the train you do get wet from water dripping from the track above after the splash and if you catch it right it hurts . I was on the far right seat in the back a couple times and once I had a huge blast of water go up my back in the splash pool. Any other questions and I will try to answer them. It is definitely worth the trip to BGE JEFF
