  1. Wow, the ride looks incredible. I'm really impressed by thag POV!
  2. There are a lot of possibilities with that layout. I'm just going to kick it and watch everything play out.
  3. The website refers to it as a "One of a Kind Experience" and uses an excessive amount of exclamation points in their description. lol If thee plans for the 150th anniversary include exactly what I described, a bunch of dollar days, some fireworks and a lot of passholder ERT events they'll play it off as a huge deal. It'll be like a year long Cedar Point-gasm extravaganza! I'm not saying it won't be a big deal but the fact that they're pretending it is one means nothing. Agreed. Kings Island hyped up the 40th Anniversary of the park and they ended up just re-theming the water park. Anniversaries don't = massive new attractions.
  4. To avoid being asked to sit in a different row, I wouldn't get in line a closing. Get in line (depending on the wait) at 915 or 930.
  5. That's not detailed or IN DEPTH enough to satisfy the nicman.
  6. Need instant gratification much? Here's another thread on launch coasters. Lawd, the quality of OP's here lately are
  7. Rode Hades in summer of 2014 and thought it was fantastic. A little jerky in the portion before the lift hill, but nothing to complain about as far as roughness. Go Carts are worth the stop! And Cyclops. Hercules was one of the worst coasters I've ever been on in my life. THAT coaster beat me to death.
  8. Great update, Andy! Thanks for the NY tour. Cheers to Saurez staying healthy on the Reds
  9. Thanks for posting! I almost missed this threat - it's a shame the views have gone down dramatically; this is an exceptional trip report! Can't wait to read your other threads. -Zach
  10. Am I getting a ride named after me yet
  11. Your comment about Wild Eagle's vests symbolizing the talons gripping against you is so true, haha. Also agreed about the surprising pop of air over the drop. I prefer it to the wing over element. Damn, I miss Afterburn. And I'm currently sitting at the Charlotte airport just 15 minutes away. That corkscrew is facemelting intense and the zero go, like Raptor's, is brilliantly paced. You really like the inline twists on the Vekoma Flyers better than the corkscrew? That odd laying on your back to flipping over your feet was so disorienting! I loved it. Great report, I'll probabaly re-read it again later! -Zach
  12. I have actually been to all the parks on your list! I won't touch on SDC because you have already been given sterling advice. Holiday World - I'll echo what the others have said and do not skip Wildebeest or Mammoth. I haven't been on Mammoth yet but damn, Wildebeest is better than 90% of other coasters out there. This is a park where you can be cheap at - free drinks can help you stay full/hydrated all day and you can get a snack during the day, then eat on your drives. Enjoy Voyage! Kings Island on a Tuesday shouldn't be bad. Ride the low capacity rides first - Invertigo -> a little bit of a walk to Firehawk, Flight of Fear, Stunt Track, then kiddie coasters of you want. Make sure to ride Diamondback in row 2 and row 15. I worked the ride and rode it a million times and I believe row 2 is the best! I'd get in line and time it to ride Beast around 9 or 930 so you're not leaving the park at 113 or 1130 like if you would be the last in line at 10. And they do pause operations for fireworks at 10-1015. One thing cool about KI is the food - they offer many Cincinnati favorites: Skyline Chili Cheese coneys, Larosas pizza, Greaters ice cream, and Montgomery Inn BBQ. Don't eat cheap shittty theme park food and try one of the locals! Also, ride Banshee in the front. Do it! Cedar Point - if you have FL+ one day, no worries. Go over to the CP thread for more suggestions on the day to day schedule. There's tons of info in there.
  13. I wish we could see reports on unique visitors. I bet SF Great America has the most repeat/pass holder visitors.
  14. As has been stated, assigned seating for rides at Dollywood is not common, Pretty sure EVERY train that leaves Mystery Mine is assigned seating. Maybe all Dollywood host don't know what they're talking about as proven again here. Mystery Mine assigns a row, not a seat and Mountain Slidewinder has to assign seating to properly distribute weight in each boat. These have been the only rides to assign placement in the park before LRod. Barnstormer assigns you a side of a swing but not a seat. THANKS Well if we are going to go this route, your post was still incorrect. LR does not assign "seats" either. They tell you what "row" to go to and you pick your own seat. Really, you're going to correct someone on the whole "seats" vs "rows" comment? Dude, take a break and walk away from the computer for a bit. No one wants to read posts like these.
  15. How did I miss this report? Grest photos and cheers for the stories that go along with them. Orlando looks like a fantastic time, although I keep struggling between planning a trip there vs the North East for all the fun up there. After riding Afterburn, I'm dying to get on Montu. Zero g's are probably my favorite element and Banshee's does not compare to Raptor, Batman, Afterburn, or other older B&Ms..but it was nice to have at a home park for a year! Bleh and those vest restraints. I like some space between my legs and the OTSR on B&Ms! It's amazing to think that they actually used to throw you around.
  16. It's pointless to rebuttal the guy. He's just going to continue to quote things he agrees with and post his opinion with little logic behind it. Confirmation bias Seriously, who knows what the ride will be. And I'm taking any social media posts (especially Snapchat) with a grain of salt because KI likes to troll enthusiasts and their snapchat is the most cringy social account ever. All they do is post #goals, it's lit fam, yoloswaggybae, and other terms that are so late to the game on being relevant with any demographic.
  17. Thanks for the review, Eric! Glad to hear this ride will be killer at all hours of the day and appreciate the comparison to Outlaw Run. Nooo, please don't feed the trolls.
  18. +1, which is why we always eat outside of the park. 1st meal: healthy prepared cooler lunch. 2nd meal: usually chicken wings and beer somewhere within 20 minutes of the park. In the case of KI, it's always Roosters (knockoff hooters). Knockoff name, same great wings, same fake tits.
  19. If your arms are long enough and you're dumb enough, you can touch the (left side) tunnel's walls in the Beast's final helix.
  20. Chicago's music scene is outstanding. There's at least 5 artists I know coming through each week. The best of 2016 so far I've seen: -RJD2 with live instrumentals + Philly rapper STS + Philly singer Jordan Brown -deadmau5 -Everything Everything -Purity Ring -Joywave Tix for June...Spring Awakening (EDM fest) Sturgill Simpson, Portugal. The Man + Cage the Elephant, and We Were Promised Jetpacks!
  21. Really appreciate the non-park updates. It's awesome to see all of the changes going on that make the Disney area a long vacation stay. Seriously, if I were to go down there for a vacation I'd probably want a week to see the water parks, theme parks, downtown area, resort hangout spots, and dining options. Thanks for the photos!
  22. Am I the only one that read this? Or did everyone else just focus on the "90 mph" and forget everything else? Good god, people, don't you all know the only legit information comes from the Dippin Dots dude? "We asked for world's first launch but we're giving you world's fastest. Take it or leave it." But seriously, if the launch isn't working just build a lift hill and the ride will be just as amazing. I wasn't a fan of the launch because personally I'd rather have a slow climb to the top to take in the views. #It'sPossibleIt'llOpenButNotProbable
  23. When did we become known for our famous BBQ? I know KC is, but I have never heard that reference about this city. We have a few decent places and that's about it. Salt + Smoke, Sugarfire, Pappy's, Roper's, Smokehouse, Shaved Duck, Adam's, Andre's, Smoking Barrels... We have quite a few. Most of this pretty recent. We weren't known for it 15 years ago - but we have a pretty darn good BBQ scene now. Absolutely, brother. Bogart's Smokehouse was stellar and had the best ribs ever!
  24. Was this a vegetarian burger? Hey so there's a dark brown circular patty under the cheese. It's a hamburger, you chucklehead. Also, a hamburger is made of meat just in case you were about to ask if a hamburger is vegetarian.
  25. I didn't find the park's "charm/atmosphere" any different than other Six Flags parks. It was probably my least favorite based on almost all categories: food service, rides, atmosphere, friendliness. SFOT, SFFT, SFOG have a cleaner atmosphere and have better ride offerings, imo. SF StL is a solid park worth the drive if you've never beer but I'd go to St.Louis for the bbq, not the theme park.
