  1. CoasterFantic.com is a cool site to Ted I am just playing. That would probably mess up the time/space thing also.
  2. This is a very tough question, so i will just throw some random thoughts out there. 1. Go back to Palo Alto (1975) and join the homebrew computer club 2. Stand in front of the Dakota apartments (12.8.80) and wait to push Yoko in front of John 3. Travel back to 1959 and fix the heater on Buddy Holly's tourbus. 4. Go back to November 5th, 1955 5. Go back to September 8th, 1997 and register the domain "themeparkreview.com"
  3. Happy Birthday Jerry! You are missed. My Last Dead Show Three Rivers Stadium, Pittsburgh, PA (Friday 6/30/95) Hell In A Bucket West L.A. Fadeaway Take Me To The River Candyman Masterpiece Bird Song Promised Land Rain Box Of Rain Samba In The Rain Looks Like Rain -> Terrapin -> Drums -> Space -> I Need A Miracle -> Standing On The Moon E: Gloria *(Rusted Root opened)* *(soundcheck included It's A Man's World, Truckin)*
  4. ^ I swear I didn't know until it was too late. I had already witnessed the act. I actually met my friend years later. Never actually met Tracy or ever plan to. The family kind of disowned her. Go figure.
  5. I was afraid to click on this thread for a moment. I was worried that it was another Random Photo TR.
  6. She is actually one of my best friend's first cousins. She grew up less than a mile from my house.
  7. ^ Precisely my point. None of the "all mag" Intamins have a mid-course block. The magnetic brakes will slow the train down to a speed where the drive tires can take over. CS has got to be friction. I can't believe that I don't really remember.
  8. 2002 Accord 2000 Marauder[/url]
  9. ^ Now that I think about it more, you are correct. From my understanding, Magnetic brakes cannot COMPLETELY stop a moving train.
  10. Ouch - Christian Gore Meet the Feebles - Peter Jackson Hated - Todd Philips Manchurian Candidate - John Frankenheimer Deer Hunter - Michael Cimino Brazil - Terry Gilliam Godfather I & II - Francis Coppola Amadeus - Milos Forman Any Mockumentary - Christopher Guest
  11. Many countries (Kuwait for example) don't have any drinking age. Because, alcohol is illegal. // count your blessings
  12. AS a rule of thumb, you should usually try to make your reservations at least 2-3 weeks in advance. The larger the party, the earlier you should make them. In my experience, the most popular are: France Mexico Japan They are also some of the most expensive. Go figure.
  13. Dodge twisters while running through a field of corn.
  14. ^ From my microscopic knowledge of block braking, there are only three scenarios where trains can collide. - Brake Failure (Very Rare, and doesn't CS use MAGNETICS) - Computer Glitch (Even More Rare) - Manual Reset (Almost always the case) Operator error would lead me to believe "Manual Reset". From what I had gathered after the BTMR incident. "Manual Resets" are pretty common at Disney, because of the high pace that they operate their rides.
  15. ^ just don't underestimate the park. The first time that I went there was last summer on the way back from a Canada trip and I was figuring maybe a couple hours to get the credits and then gone. How wrong I was as we proceded to stay damn near close and ride almost everything twice. There is just so much cool stuff in that park. My Favorite "traditional" Dark Ride (Wacky Shack) A Top 5 Log Flume My Favorite Junior Woodie My Favorite Spinner Good Food Cool Sky Ride
  16. ^ I was thinking the same thing, but then I remembered seeing Elissa's camera at Solace and it is very James Bond-ish. // hopes these poor souls never find TPR
  17. Waldameer Park Saturday July 30th, 2005 Saturday was a "free" day, and they have been pretty rare lately. Catrina and I decided to make the 2+ hr journey up north to hit Waldameer park. I had been there once before but Catrina had never experienced this one so off we go ... Waldameer is a "picnic grove" type park much like Williams Grove, but much nicer. As can be seen by this sign, they don't put up with any crap! After riding the parks two dark rides (some of my favorites), the first coaster of the day was the Maurer Söhne spinner, Spinning Dragons. It looks pretty tame from the outside, but this coaster packs a nice punch. The first drop got the "oh crap!" reaction from Catrina, which is a good sign. Parks really need to lay off of the Zamperla/Reverchon and Gerstlauer versions and install more of these. They are just so much damn fun. Here is a nice crappy (backlit) shot of the station. Another crazy spinning train navigates a turn. Catrina is like "are you done taking pictures yet, nerd" My second visit to Waldameer and I still haven't rode the Ravine Flyer 3. Not quite sure what their policy is on it, but I am all ears if someone can enlighten me. Another shot of the Ravine Flyer 3. They named it the Ravine Flyer 3 because they have been hoping to hoping to build 2 for a few years now, but just got the zoning clearances needed to do it. The best scenario would plant a custom Gravity Group coaster in their hands by 2007. Next up was the skyride. This is a nice SLOW journey over the midway that allow for a nice break in the action. It is also a good place to grab some photos. The first great skyride shot is this one of two kids wearing these silly unicorn hats. As you can see from this shot, the park had a good crowd and one train ops (pretty sure that is the only way it ever runs) on the Comet made for some pretty lengthy 15-20 minute waits. After getting disoriented on Pirates Cove and spinning on Steel Dragons, Catrina is happy to be on the skyride. More skyride goodness. Here is an aerial shot of Pirates Cove. This Tracy dark-walkthrough is a real gas, and Waldameer takes great care of it. After the skyride, we hopped in the gift shop for a few minutes. This photo is a tribute to USROADTRIPPER's quirky gift shop finds. Since there is already a propeller themed enthusiast around, my goal is to become "Horny Ted". This is a good value, but I want to ride something more thrilling than Sky Ride. At the end of the midway, Waldameer has a couple of rides including this Scrambler. You may have heard about them, but here they are. Waldameer's own lapbar bumper cars. "I need a hero. I'm holding out for a hero till the ..." Our last ride of the evening would be the ACE Classic Comet. This ride isn't big, but it runs great. If you like coasters that interact with trees, this is the ride for you. Anywhere on it's layout, you can just reach out and grab the nearest branch. For the last picture, I will end with this bit of PTC goodness. Notice the ACE compliant single position lap bar and lack of a seat divider. Thanks for reading!
  18. ^ No Idea. Here is the criteria. - No Seat Divider - Single Position Lap Bar (1 per row) - Wood (Of Course!) - You can choose your own seat (That would remove a couple of their so-called classics including Jack Rabbit, Waldameer Comet, etc. They used to require that the ride be manually controlled, but there would hardly be any left if they still required that.
  19. ^^ You can ride the Howler without kids. I know from my creidt whoring experience
  20. Did it only if you really want to p**s off everybody still stuck on dial-up
  21. Could I be a semi-god then http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1926587/
  22. If they would only remove the "no seat divider" requirement the list would make a lot more sense.
  23. Best: Knoebles Skooters Worst: PKI Bumper Cars I have always heard that the ones at Oaks are the best. Anybody?
