  1. Bookmark this in case I am right later (I like being right) My Guess: Flight of Fear = gone New ride = Indoor coaster in the same exact location with the same exact layout and same exact trains with a MTV theme.
  2. As a wise man once said "Google is your friend" Here are some examples/prices: http://www.mysimon.com/4007-6720_8-0.html?qt=lipstick+camera // good ones aren't cheap and cheap ones aren't good
  3. Can someone please tell me what page that is on at that site? i'm having trouble finding it. Thanks! Here is a better link: http://www.coasterfanatics.com/sec_news/news_detail.asp?id=658 Don't ask how I know these things // the real credit goes to the Sandusky Register.
  4. FynnGER, I dig the Kangol man.
  5. Parks are not opening ... they are closing. Sounds like a bad investment to me. Seriously, I think the only way to be successful these days is to start small (putt-putt, go-carts, etc) and build off that. The days of getting any venture cap. for building a park are OVER.
  6. ^ Check back a couple pages in the thread. I posted the link. Now to this: Looks like wood to me. Would you also put the Jack Rabbit at Kennywood in it's own category? It also deviates from the standard "stacked" layer construction. It has sections (most notably the turns) where the boards are laid sideways.
  7. Mow some grass, deliver papers, etc. Pay your parents back and admit you made a mistake and it will never happen again. You should have asked in the first place. If you have to send them back, put them in the mail (in a new envelope) and send it them to Robb. It may be a while till he gets back to you. He is in Europe right now. // this seems to happen a lot
  8. Yep, if you get there early (by early I mean 30 minutes before the gates are "Scheduled" to be open) AAA. Other than that they're really isn't any good unless you are a Florida resdient. You save a little bit on the second day, but nothing to get too excited about. They do have a two-park/one-day ticket, but it is a good jump in price and would be pretty pointless in the summer. If you are a pro wrestling fan, you would love Medieval Times. If you do one day, do the Magic Kingdom. The rest of the parks are nice, but I normally don't spend all day at them. Except Epcot, which is really not the park to do if you are only going to Orlando for one day. Wet & Wild, Sea World (If you are just doing the rides), Disney Water Parks, Putt Putt, Mini Golf, etc It is very crowded on Summer weekends. They offer deep discounts on their season passes and a ton of locals fill the parks when the weather is nice. But, even crowded, Busch is still pretty managable. Yep. The only people that will put it down are people that have been on 300+ coasters.
  9. You got to ride a Nautic-Jet  Now, I am really jealous.
  10. This is somewhat true, but not only when you walking around the park. Also, go left any time a line splits at any of the Disney properties. It may look like there are more people waiting to the left, but they're isn't. Most of the time Disney makes the queues to the right longer to make up for the people who naturally walk that way. Look at Pirates of the Carribean and Great Movie Ride and you will see exactly what I am talking about. I think the queue is about twice as long on the right for Pirates.
  11. ... and this place is getting a GCI! I had no idea about this place. Where did they get the money to pay off Clair? Did they rob the local 7-11?
  12. In your case your GPA would be: (5*4 + 9*3 + 2*2)/16 = 3.1875 Not Deans List or anything, but respectable. Like Gregg, I was a slack-ass until my last two years of high school. 23 on my ACT for anyone who cares.[/code]
  13. Gregg Another Airport that you might want to consider (if you are considering as far away as Dayton) is Pittsburgh "PIT". I have always been able to get cheap flights to LAX from PIT and I figure it probably works well the other way also. It is probably somewhere in the neighborhood of 3 hours from Cedar Point with Geauga falling in the middle. The only problem with flying into PIT would be the temptation of Kennywood, Waldameer, and Conneaut.
  14. I thought we were the only country that was evil enough to put Premier trains on a woodie. I stand corrected Have a Bitburger for me!
  15. This should be a big help. http://www.coasterfanatics.com/sec_map Please note that this is not yet "live" and the functionality is limited. However, it is still pretty handy when planning trips.
  16. If you haven't already checked it out, go to the link that Robb provided earlier in the thread. All these parks have their own policies and I don't want to tell you one thing and then another be true. I only mentioned the CP Policy because it is very well known. It isn't even worth asking at Cedar Point. It wasn't always like that though. You probably have the best odds at Coney.
  17. I have always thought that those "self-operated" rides looked like a blast. http://www.heege-freizeittechnik.de I have been wanting to ride a Nautic-Jet ever since watching the Marchenpark video. // I think about every Heege ride is in that park
  18. I just got the DELL Inspiron 9300 a couple of months ago and I love it. It has great battery life for a 17" monitor and does anything I need it to do. If you shop around and use http://www.slickdeals.net, it can be had for as low as $750. Don't forget to double the RAM. It is required
  19. At the current time, CP will not allow anyone to take ANYTHING on ANY ride without prior arrangement. If you are going to try to make arrangement. Your website will probably not have a chance without being in the 1,000,000 Page View per month category. // it's a cruel world ... sorry
  20. Sure does. There are some decent hotels in Elyria and it isn't too far. Check it out on Travelocity or the site of your choice. It can be pretty damn bad! Especially that time of the year. The good news is that no matter how bad it is, 2 days will be plenty. The ops at Cedar Point are excellent and runmost of the rides very well (Millenium Excluded) Plenty. You should be able to get some waterpark time or beach time in there too. Maybe opt for the twilight coupon one night and full day the other. BOGOs are available on the Cedar Point site for Twilight passes. There isn't much else except CP and GL, but I would highly recommend the R&R Hall of Fame if you are a music nut. If I had to go those three days, I would probably opt for: Friday: Soak City / CP Twilight Pass Saturday: Geauga Lake (This park has had pretyt low attendance and would probably be the best Sat. choice) Sunday: Cedar Point all day. The crowds will really start to thin out in the evening Let me know your final plans (if any). I live about 1.5 from GL and 3 for CP, and would love to meet up.
  21. Plan on hitting the parks in Mid-May and hit Cedar Point mid-week. The place is always a ghost town for the first couple weeks.
  22. They did it with the Starliner, but they ended up being right anyway.
  23. In the parking lot. It is Six Flags after all // don't be that guy
  24. I think you will be able to find answers in this thread. http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=17222 // please search Closed
