Mice TR, and not a bad looking park. I think the name Hellcat is just begging to be changed again. -

Wow, great pics. It sure is worse than I had expected. The park didn't look much different than this when I visited there late last August. -
PCN Tours - PA Amusement Parks
andy_e219 replied to andy_e219's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Yes, they were produced in 2002. The Knoebels one today showed the Whirlwind. -
For those who live in Pennsylvania, I just heard of the PA amusment park tours today. They air on PCN on this schedule: Tuesday, June 17th 6:00-6:30pm Hersheypark (already over) Wednesday, June 18th 7:00-8:00am Knoebels 6:00-7:00pm Knoebels Thursday, June 19th 7:00-7:30am Kennywood 7:30-8:00am Lakemont Park 6:00-6:30pm Kennywood 6:30-7:00pm Lakemont Park Friday, June 20th 7:00-7:30am Sesame Place 7:30-8:00am Waldameer 6:00-6:30pm Sesame Place 6:30-7:00pm Waldameer I saw the Lakemont one last summer and it was a bit out of date. I remember that they feature the Mad Mouse, which was removed in 2003. I remember that they take a tour of the park, showing the rides and explaining how they run. It was very interesting anyhow. Here's a link to their website: www.pcntv.com

These are the coasters which still operate with NAD trains: Thunderbolt - Kennywood (The 3 trains they have do not have headlights.) Big Dipper - Camden Park Little Dipper - Camden Park Conneaut Lake Park used their NAD trains on their Blue Streak until 2002, in years after that they operated them once in a while. They still have them and they look to be in working order.

Need some advice!
andy_e219 replied to Nosferatu's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I can only give you some advice on Hersheypark: There are several hotels around the area, I know when I was there last year we stayed in some cheap place called Econo Lounge or somthing for like 60 bucks. The park from what I remember is within 3 minutes of some fast food places, you can leave the park and be back in probably less than an hour. Hope this helps. -

How many times the same ride in a day ?
andy_e219 replied to mingsai's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The Blue Streak at Conneaut Lake Park I rode 25 times in a row without getting off, which was very easy to there on weekdays. I also rode the Exterminator at Kennywood about 9 times in a row, getting off and going back in line of course. -
I arrived today at the park for the volunteer cleanup weekend. I was given the assignment to weed-wack Kiddieland. So I week-waked around all of the little rides, which were actually in pretty good shape. I also cut down a bunch of little trees that were growing in the track of the Little Dipper. After Kiddieland was finished, I walked around the park to see all of the rides in good shape, even the Blue Streak. It looked bad, but it has always looked bad, at least it is in good shape. Next I weed-waked around the Trabant. After that we ate lunch in the Beach Club and I spent the afternoon cleaning the mini golf course and looking around the park. Here are a few things I noticed: - new security lights were installed in key areas all around the park. - they really need to lock their doors better, I saw a door in Kiddieland that was 'locked' with a bent nail. - the ride tickets building was broken into and the Tumble Bug sign was missing and a bunch of plastic darts from a game that were stored in there were stolen and thrown at things all throughout the park. - the park has been maintained. - the remains of Dreamland were cleaned up and there is almost no evidence that it was ever there. Here is some of the upcoming plans the park has: The Beach Club is going to try to be open by the 4th of July. It will cost between $40,000 and $50,000, which is going to be hard because the park has no money. The old dropped ceiling in the Beach Club has to be replaced because it is caving in in some areas. As for the Hotel Conneaut, they are awaiting bids from 2 companies to fix the old wing's fire escape. A new problem has arose however, they are having problems with the foundation in the old wing. That wing was is actually older than the Hotel itself, it originally was another building in the park (Probably the park's original convention hall) and it was moved across the park and was attached to the Exposition Hotel, which was the hotel that the Hotel Conneaut evolved into. This wing was used in the construction of the Hotel Conneaut in 1903. This wing has a series of piers in the foundation and some of the 100+ year old piers are shifting and crumbling. So they will have to get that, the fire escape, and anything else that is wrong fixed before it can open. I don't see that happening this season. That is all I can remember, pictures will come soon.

I just got back from riding it. It is just amazing, pleanty of airtime. It is easily one of the best wood coasters in the nation. It's a great coaster, but it is badly operated. The line was an hour long and they only had 1 train out. It would take them about 8 minutes from the time the train entered the station until it was dispached again, but I'm sure these bugs will be worked out by the middle of the summer. I'll say it again, it's a great ride. -

I think this coaster should be removed and replaced with a major coaster, it dosn't fit in with the rest of the coasters in the park. It looks very cheap. -
Tumble Bug or Turtle
andy_e219 replied to kidcoaster's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^Yes, but we are talking about full size Tumble Bugs. The Kennywood Turtle is the last one still operating. There are 2, Chippewa lake Park's which most likely won't operate again, and Conneaut Lake Park's which could operate again someday that are currently are SBNO. There are several small sized Tumble Bugs on the planet, but only 1 full sized one.
