  1. I'm going also for the first time this August. I am trying to fit all of it or at least most of it into one day. My plan is to go to Dorney one day, and then the next day SFGA. Is it possible to fit it all or most of it (Kingda Ka, El Toro, Superman, Nitro) into one day?
  2. The coaster looks to be in a lot better shape than it was last August at GL.
  3. It's a high speed ride all the way that thing is.
  4. What Nickolas Dean Pope said to investigators was released, Pope told investigators he had driven to the amusement park with another friend early that morning and they walked through the park. He said he entered the Dreamland Ballroom/maintenance building through an unlocked door. Pope said made a torch out of wood, rags and cooking oil he found in the building and walked around inside it. He said he tossed the torch inside the building after awhile, which caused a fire and he left. Pope said he re-entered the building in an attempt to extinguish that fire, but wasn’t able. Pope told investigators he and his companion then left the park, but returned later to watch firefighters battle the blaze. In a later interview with Wick and Trooper Dana Beckwith, a Pennsylvania State Police fire marshal, Pope changed his story slightly. Pope said he ignited debris inside the Dreamland Ballroom before departing the building, rather than just tossing the torch.

  9. I don't know... In all of my dreams involving coasters, I get on them, they start going and they crash and then I wake up. I often have dreams of amusment parks, but not coasters.
  10. I actually read some sort of good news today, "Park Board Continues Work on Master Plan The Trustees of Conneaut Lake Park are continuing their work on the master plan for the park. As part of this effort, the board is still looking for investors for both the short term and long term of the plan. The short term plans include opening parts if not all the park to establish an income and operating capital while the long term plans are developed and implemented. Camperland and Boat Docks To Open for 2008 Season The Conneaut Lake Park Camperland and the Boat Docks have moved to the definite list for areas of the park to be open in 2008. Inquires for these two areas can be directed to the park office at 814.382.5115 or Camperland at 814.382.7750. Decisions on other areas of the Park are yet to be decided." This was on their website, which hasn't been updated for about a year, until now.

  12. I drove past the park today, and the Ghostwood Estate building is almost finished. It looks like it is almost bigger than the Thunderbolt. It is looking really nice, won't be too long before we are riding it.
  13. Awesome, I plan on going there this August. Any tips?
  14. The word is now official, it has collapsed. A man said he heard the building creaking on Saturday, and the center of the roof collapsed into the building. The front side is leaning in twards the center and it will most likely fall also. This is not the worst thig that could happen, the building has been empty and unused sience 2004 when a storm damaged the roof of the buiulding and the Scrambler ride, which was the Ultamate Trip, was moved outside and half assembled in 2005, but they found problems with the ride and took it back down before the end of the season. The roof had been in such bad shape for so many years, it isn't a suprise this happened. A little history on the building: It was built in 1909 like the Dreamland Ballroom. It origanally was the park bowling alley. It was at some point turned into a fun house and then in 1976 the Scrambler was moved into the building and it became the Ultamate Trip. In 1990 the Scrambler was moved back outside next to the Devil's Den to fill an empty space in the park. In 1999, it was moved back inside and became the Ultamate Trip again. In June of 2004, a storm damaged the roof and the Ultamate Trip was closed. The building has sat empty sience then.
