  1. I'm downloading the file at home now... 450mb! That's huge! Oh and I'm begging for any custom ride events (or GermanTaco's) you got! I got a coaster to theme myself. I'm not proud! (And I'm reading that you're gonna release them after this POV comes out... so let me know!) Terry
  2. ^I'm getting flashbacks of Bobbejaanland! Now I need some shooting gallery sound effects! Looks great so far! Terry
  3. ^You probably need to PM me about that sticky issue. But if you look on the Atari forums, it can be done. Terry
  4. Don't you think you may be posting in the wrong thread for the fun and games? That's like posting for postings sake, in my opinion. Terry
  5. ^Was it through looking at porn? I say that because when I had to rebuild my friends' PC they were always trying to look at those "free" sites. That's how you pay... Also (and I've said this many times), back up your documents! I have my coaster park on backup DVDs, a keychain drive and backed up through time machine. That's a lot of places, but then I put a lot of work on my stuff not to have it disappear off the face of the earth. Terry
  6. I had to look at the atari forum to see which version is more popular. Over the last month rct2 had over 4 thousand threads and RCT 3 had about 48 thousand. Somehow I think you're in the minority. All versions of the rct series had cartoonish graphics and the earily versions were saddled down with a limit (because of the 2d graphics) of what you could put in the park. Also you had to hack the program to get the sandbox mode as well as other features, because Chris Sawyer was dumb enough to think that people should only be allowed to play the game when people were clamoring for the additional features (it's called replay value!). Personall, the only thing I miss, being a sandbox player, is the screams the peeps made when riding coasters! With custom scenery, you can put together some pretty cool items. The only disadvantage is that you need a pretty good graphic card to handle it! Anyway, back to topic. I like the tower coaster in your park, and having not made a river rapids, is the extra wide parts available in the game or is there some trick to it? @Anfronee: I got this from a hint book: * keep ad campaigns going to get people in * drop in a ATM machine or two * try putting a path sign near the entrance so peeps can't leave. * no need to add food or drink because the peeps don't want them and it requires hiring a janitor. * put in lots of thrill rides, not necessarily coasters Terry
  7. Well, I spent most of the weekend on my ride again! I had an issue with certain things that stopped working when I added another ride station. So once that was fixed I started working on the scenes again. I've learned how to use the waterfall custom objects, and made my first blocky building... yay for me! The updates for today consists of a little cave cleanup, the interlude to the Act 3 and parts of Act 3 without giving too much away. I did work on a bit of the front of the ride building, but nothing that looks good to take pics of. No hints on the ending, but it looks like we'd better high tail it out of here! I used exploding barrels from Dasmatze's Coal Mine set and hide them within scene for timed explosions! If anyone has ride events that can be hidden, I would love to have them! Looks like we brought a little nasty back with us! How about getting caught in the middle with a fire and water? And watch those hands! Remember the teaser image to act three? I built it up a little more. We're not quite home, but we're not in Hell either. We're at the Waterbearer temple (at least the first attempt)... but how will we get home? Now you can see the demon coming out of the last cave. A drop into the cave with just a little hint of lava... Nothing like not having rocks slap you in the face at high speeds! A little turn in the dark hurts no one though...
  8. ^That's what I was thinking as far as the car as well. Can't wait to see what you come up with. Terry
  9. I'm a lot more pleased with the changed scene. Probably needs a little more tweaking but it's much closer to what I want. I also cleaned up the caves a bit, but I forgot to take a picture of one of the changes. I'm about to go back into the game now, but I took this pic yesterday: Go'on come closer, he just wants to give you a hug!
  10. I had to giggle at some of the warped things you did in the video. Nice work! Terry
  11. ^Like I said before, I'm not sure what it is. Except for the one pic from the ride we got on in Europe. But if you wanted to put a bench on a coaster or a dark ride... go for it. I'm pretty sure whatever you think would work would be great, considering what you've made before. Oh, and your making the volcano a ride event was one of the best things ever if you noticed my coaster I'm working on. Terry
  12. ^I'm still playing around with that trying to figure out how to time them correctly. But right now I managed about five and there was still a wait to get on at the beginning. I think it may depend on the order where I laid out various elements and block brakes. I may add another station just for the exit to see if that evens things out.
  13. ^Just don't name a peep Terry; he just might start pacing at the bottom of the slide looking at that area saying "Aw heck no!" Terry "Really using his imagination" Weaver
  14. I think the caves are coming out pretty well... actually the whole coaster considering this is the first time I've built something like this. I think tonight my goal is to finish the caves (which includes deleting a track section and lowering the ground to get all the cave pieces in) and cleaning up the Waterbearer scene... which was the point of me staying up last night! See how I get distracted? And the waterbearer scene got created because I got distracted on the crypt building! A few more stats for the current coaster: Number of drops: 39 Number of loops: 11 Number of really nasty surprises awaiting riders: 3 Times the Waterbearer wasn't on her J.O.B.: 1 Terry
  15. How did 2008 treat me? Like I owed it money. Terry
  16. My other rant is drunk or drugged up people getting way into your personal space trying to feel you up. I went out yesterday and while walking through the club a "tweeked" person tried to stop me and wanted to do things I shall not mention. I said "Thanks, but no thanks. I have a boyfriend." (that's about the extent of me being nice). His response: "Well he ain't here now." Then he tried to make his move. I hit him over the head with my water bottle and he scurried off. Later he tried the same thing with my friend while he was hugging his boyfriend. I stood there watching while my friend politely tried to push him away. I said "That's not how you do it! Get OFF my friend." He ran off again. Another guy fell off the couch laughing at me. After laughing my friend said "You're such a b&tch." "You say it like it's a bad thing." Terry
  17. Yesterday I gave a entire family at a restaurant a lesson how to share items from the condiment table... much to their amazement and dropped jaws. At this restaurant, in addition to the salsa, onions, etc. , they give you these neat little cups to put your condiments in. There is also a bottle of hot sauce and you should be using the same principles as getting the salsa: take a little cup and put what you need in it... not take the whole darn bottle to your table. Please note: At the most there are only two small bottles at the table; so taking it back to your table does not work when there are 50 people inside. Anyway, I went to get some hot sauce and saw an empty bottle. I looked around and a family took the whole FULL bottle to their table. So I grabbed a little cup and walked to their table, put the cup down and proceeded to give a demonstration of how to put hot sauce in a cup. I finished up with the following sentence: They just stood there, not know what to do. I then took the bottle back to the condiment table, took what I needed and left the restaurant. Terry
  18. Right now, I think there may be a little lag in POV, but I also have all the settings on high; turning down the LOD settings should help when I'm ready to record. Also the video drivers on my hack-mac aren't optimized (which everyone complains about) so when I do my POV I'll record it in windows. I'm also running a bunch of programs in the background, so closing them will help as well. I'm running with a 512 8800GT, it's still not that bad. I will probably buy a better video card later when I get some extra cash... and this europe trip paid for! Terry
  19. ^^I'd be scared to get on that slide, considering that thin pool at the bottom. If you move the wrong way, you'll hit the sides or not go in the water at all!
  20. Yeah with all of the lawsuits that went flying with RCT3, I doubt this will happen. I'd just be happy with them fixing the bugs in the current program! But being a Mac user, I'd be happy if there's a Wild expansion pack. Not that it's stopped me from getting all the stuff in the pack... But I'd rather have an official version than what I've spent hours piecing together and debugging. BTW Apple's video card drivers suck! Not optimized for videogames at all... and they're coming from Nvidia! Terry
  21. The hunt continues for the ride effects I want to use, but I did a bit on progress on the demon encounter in hell. When I slowed down the train to do a pass by the demon, it knocked my excitement way down. I had to figure a way to get it back up and still be able to get a good look at the demon before resuming. So I played with enclosing the parts that speed through that scene, which included a drop that had kept the rating up. I began creating some caves to speed through, which also will block the coaster's view of the demon until it actually slows down for the pass by. Now a few pics: When I finish this area, the drop that the car is on will be hidden as well. Now we slow the car down for the demon encounter. We are also above the last cave walls so the demon is in full view. Also my ratings went back up almost to where they were before. The caves are built around a volcano. I have to get rid of that annoying lava fountain, but I was playing around with those as well. But after a banked turn with a view of the volcano and lava, it goes back into the cavern. The exit from another view. Notice the exit is a bit tight... yep, you're in hell! Coming out one of the caverns... The cliffs now hide the demon from the train until the last turn. The uncompleted caves. I have to redo some parts where the cave causes some real head choppers! Ouch!!! Now going into the cave scene and I included a slightly bigger drop to get the speed up. Yay! There is at least one loop in hell!
  22. EZFlash and R4 eh? [PIRATE_VOICE] Looks like we doin' a wee bit of pirating, aye matey? [/PIRATE_VOICE] Just get it from the different places and pay the shipping. The places that offer that hacking stuff pretty much only specializes in that stuff not the accessories; so they're keeping their costs down like you're trying to do. At least pay for something... Terry
  23. VIP tickets for tomorrow morning's New Years party (yep... morning. Ain't crap going on tonight) -- $95. Terry
  24. ^^Meh. Maybe that's why I decided not to do it for next years trip. Terry
  25. I think that may be the same McDonald's I drove past when I did my cross country road trip a few years ago. I guess the same person still works there but they were selling burgers "2 for a doller" Terry
