  1. ^Is what you have the official entrance or a custom object? And if so, why isn't there paths actually going into the park from the entrance so the peeps can get in? Not familiar with RCT2 stuff. Terry
  2. ^What he said. What are the specs on the machine that you have? Will it accept a pci-express-based graphics or AGP? You need to know this before you get the card to make sure you can install it so you won't be mad on Christmas because you got something you can't use. Also, a higher number doesn't necessarily mean a better card. The 8800 GT 512 beats both the 9600GT and 9500GT and I saw it on Newegg for about $139. I have this card on my machine and it runs really well... even in PC emulation mode on my "Hackintosh" through Parallels. The card you are looking at is a budget card, and although it should be enough to get some good rates in RCT3, if you can swing a better card try to get one. Terry
  3. ^Actually I did it once under an assumed name... and it was very campy. But the kids ate it up! Got too busy for it though. Terry "Anne Landers" Weaver EDIT: Here's one of my old advice columns, "Ask Indie": Here was the response: Ooh! Don't make me start Lovin' myself... Stand back, 'cause when I throw this weave, somebody might get hurt! Thanks love! Ms Indie
  4. ^I have to keep the block brake thing in mind when I fix the coaster I just created in RCT3. I'm still playing around with the coaster types so I still have a while. I have a fairly long station as well, but I did put some block brakes in for a launch and at the end of the ride so it may not need to be as long. Ghost: I have to agree with spacing issues in the rides. Those are going to be some long paths between each of the rides! Tired and thirsty peeps everywhere!
  5. Being rude when you're off the clock: Yes Being rude to coworkers at work: Big no-no. This requires a talk to her supervisor for an attitude adjustment. You may not like someone, but at least be cordial when someone is trying to make small talk. I would have told her "You know, I haven't done anything to you for this attitude and it's uncalled for. I think I'll talk to your supervisor to see if we can correct this..." (walk off to look for her supervisor for added effect... you'll leave her with her mouth dropped. That will teach her to open her fat mouth at work; it's obvious she forgot where she was! ) Seriously, if you haven't, go talk to her supervisor and don't wait. Terry
  6. ^Okies! Don't see how we're rude when you didn't take time to read the rules, but that's life right? We look forward to seeing the real progress you make on the park! You know... buildings, scenery and rides; not this lone picture of water stuff. Good luck! Terry "made the thread worth reading for now..." Weaver
  7. Heck, I found a resort sign for the lake: Fits in perfectly. (Did we hijack this thread?)
  8. ^That's naughty! But I see it now... That's because the rule went into effect after he started his thread, so it doesn't apply. Starting your thread two months after the rule went into effect assumes you've read and understood the guidelines. Hope that clears up why I said what I did. The rule was so that members post parks and tracks that show progress made (rides, scenery, etc), instead of a teaser pic and nothing else. That's what the preview thread is for. I'm working on getting a park together, but I don't want to show anything until I get something worthy of viewing. Personally, a logo just doesn't do it for me. I designed two coasters/dark rides yesterday and I want to clean them up and add them a themed area. I'm still learning how to do the custom scenery so I know I'm still weeks away from having something ready so it wouldn't make sense for me to just throw up a logo and nothing else, then post nothing else to it for weeks. Terry
  9. ^Karma is something else. I remember a long time ago a person I dated did the same thing with an acquaintance of mine. I thought everything was ok until I introduced them one night while we were out... big mistake. A week later after I got dumped, he walks in with my friend. I was not happy; but I just rolled my eyes and kicked back a beer. About two weeks later, I was at the bar sipping a cocktail and my ex comes up all depressed. His antique car he was fixing up went into the shop for a repair and the shop kept the car overnight. They stored his car under a hydraulic lift holding another car... which lost pressure and crushed his car. I don't know why my exes think I'm the friendly shoulder to cry on, but he got a rude awakening when I said "Well that's karma for you cheating on me. I gotta walk. Later." I didn't bother looking back but I know I ruined his life right then and there. When I was younger, I used to let all the stuff affect me; now, when I meet someone, I just issue warnings on what's going to happen if they don't come correct... which is basically they'll come running back to me when they find out the grass isn't greener and I'm going to act like they don't exist. Of course, they never believe me until that day after they mess up and try to say hi and I walk past them like they are invisible. Those guys look so sad when I do it too! Life is too short to put up with messy people. I got better things to do with my time! Terry
  10. Looks nice, but aren't you using the wrong thread? This is more a preview and probably needs to go here: http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=47259 Only reason that it should go here is if you gave up on it and stopped working on it. That's one person's opinion anyway. Terry
  11. I would say that if you have to boost the coaster to get over the hills, you may need to make the hills lower or redo certain parts to make it more realistic. Also some parts seem a bit jerky coming out of the helixes including the launch; there should be a smooth transition coming out of the to reduce the headbanging that you would get. Other that that, it looks like a good start. Terry EDIT: not sure how accurate this is but here is someone else's recreation. Notice how much smoother it is, and the lift is different as well. If RCT3 doesn't offer the type of lift, you may need to substitute it for a different coaster type or find the track modding tool and play around with that to see if you can put the coaster car on a track type that does a vertical lift.
  12. Looking at what you have so far that's a lot of hard work... not to mention space! And to think I used to make pretend coasters with Hot Wheels track on my back porch! I don't think I would have the patience to put something like that together, because of the time involved to get everything perfect... so good luck with that. I'm having enough trouble making sure my RCT 3 custom scenery doesn't crash my mac... and that's after installing it on a pc and copying it over! Terry
  13. ^Right. But I saw more of you trying to plan revenge than wanting her back... Don't waste your time. Moving on and doing other things is better. Although my version of revenge is looking better than my exes after we break up. You should have saw two of mine trying to get my attention last weekend after they had messed up... they both got ignored as I socialized with my friends; and I didn't give them a second thought. In fact, I was wondering "What the heck was I thinking"? Terry
  14. Boo boo, I think you forgot to read the Game forum Etiquette thread when posting new parks: http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=47124&start=0 I wouldn't be surprised if your park adventure ended before it started. Terry
  15. 1. My sinuses are infected again... to the point of bleeding several times a day. Good thing I'm relaxing this weekend; it would have been a disaster while volunteering. 2. Maintaining multiple computers. I have to configure the laptop that I reinstalled windows on, upgrade my virtual machine images on my mac and maybe upgrade my "hack" to the lastest os version. Just don't have enough time on the weekend! 3. I had to put a VIP guest in her place last weekend. I was volunteering at a silent auction booth with thousands of dollars in merchandise and people kept putting their dirty plates and cups down on the bid sheets and tables when the trash can was in the corner! I walked by one table and saw someone put a half bottle of wine on the table and walked off. I picked it up and looked around and was taking it to the trash when a guy thought I was getting my drink on. I asked him if he wanted it since it was messing up my display. A few seconds later a lady comes up with a big attitude saying "Thats MY bottle!" I said "Then B$tch, what it's doing on MY table? I got thousands of dollars of stuff here and you're putting your wet bottle down on my stuff like you're at home! Take it and get the hell out of here!" The security guard that was standing next to me started laughing. She scurried off quietly. Some people. BTW, one of the cast from a former MTV Real World and Road Rules (the one that's gay) was at the party and was looking at a few pieces from the auction. I noticed he put on weight though... guess that happens when the 15 minutes of fame is up. Terry
  16. Round 1 of Christmas shopping and car insurance: $670. This includes about $220 worth of Christmas stuff going to boyfriend so he has one memorable Christmas before he gets cut off like the rest of my friends next year. Bah humbug. Guess it's cheaper than the week in L.A for New Years. I did notify him I'm doing the New Years morning party with my friends in Miami since he bailed on me for Thanksgiving... no one really goes out for New Years Eve here. Last year I did a new years party and it wasn't a large crowd, but there was a line getting in the 8am party hours later! Terry
  17. This was on failblog the other day. It was supposed to be mommy selling a shovel, but something got lost in the translation. Go'on, aspire lil missy! Terry I bet the teacher about fainted when she saw this!
  18. ^^That was what I was getting at. Without actually playing the level, I was saying the peeps would probably only ride covered up rides during rain. Thanks for understanding what I was getting at . Terry "at least give me credit for being on the right track without even playing the game" Weaver
  19. ^I would experiment with building a ride indoors and covering rides and paths and see if the peeps decide to ride. Terry "rain hurts while riding a coaster...Robb filmed my pain once" Weaver
  20. ^ I just got deja vu. And it's not featuring Beyonce. Really, I don't think you need to bump the thread to tell us you won't have problems with you. Showing us will be good enough. Terry
  21. Finally recovering from volunteering/party weekend. Need vitamins and to soak my feet! My roommate couldn't go to work at the mall today because it's on lockdown... someone robbed an armored truck! Tells you how bad the economy is because that's the first time I've heard someone do that in South Florida! Terry
  22. ^It may not be a problem with steelworks but another set you installed. Right now I'm going through my custom scenery to make sure none crashes the game before I actually start. Try installing Neton 2.1. It has most of the custom scenery you will need, including the more difficult to install stuff. Then once you make sure that works, add in other scenery until you are sure they are working without crashing your game. The link is at http://neton.rct-net.de/index.php?page=download Terry NOTE: This implies that you will uninstall the game and retry to clean any problems with scenery.
  23. Well the marketing director of my volunteer organization will appreciate these pics; he went and he had the nose bleed seats! My shift at the Welcome Center was quiet because everyone was at the concert! Also, I'm glad I didn't go to the concert; you can barely see her without zooming! It would be like watching ants dig for food! Terry
  24. I got a half bottle of champagne from the agency after my volunteer shift last night. So I had a toast with my roommates; a nice way to bring in the holidays. Terry
  25. ^^That's why I don't weigh myself that often, I usually go by how clothes fit and reactions from others. Usually I end up weighing more but slimming up, because I'm weightlifting more than anything else. But even when I do my aerobics only, I won't weigh myself because it's not really an accurate depiction of my goal. Besides now I have to change the type of pants I wear soon because my thighs are bigger and my waist is getting smaller.. straight leg jeans are out of the question! But keep going and don't get discouraged! Terry
