^^I did some research and the guy that made the tower pulled a prank on the interviewer. When the interviewer went off screen to take the call, someone pulled a wire causing the tower to fall. I think he got him good... but that will teach you not to answer your cell phone on the job! Terry

RCT3 Scenery Packs
terrancew_hod replied to coasters 4 me's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
^If you bought it from itunes then you probably can't use it, since it's protected. Of course there are programs that allow you to get around it but you're gonna have to search for that, since it's not legal... but I do it under "fair use"... like some people that bought their music from microsoft and got ripped off when they shut down their servers could have. If it's not protected, but in apple's format, you could right click on the song and select "convert to mp3". That should convert the song to use. If you have a mac, I believe if you create a playlist in itunes called rct, the game will import it... I believe there is an option for it. Terry -

RCT3 Scenery Packs

^I shoehorned them in the program files directory and they showed up in the dropdown. This also included MP3 files. I did find a switch in the options to use the my documents\rct3\music directory in the game; so I guess you would have to click this to enable that directory. Terry -
[WIP[RCT3]] Mining Madness
terrancew_hod replied to Steffen_Dk's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
^I was looking at the tutorials and examples just to see if what I had envisioned for my park could actually be done, which I think can be... so I'm happy about that. I'm just using my development principles to get an idea of what the program could do then starting working through it. What rock set are you using for this pic? Terry -

RCT3 Scenery Packs

^I saw that directory today and figured that's probably where it needs to go. I'm on my laptop that i reformatted so there's no songs here. Terry -
^It's is a great thing to see. I haven't had one myself, since I'm veeeerrrry independent (which isn't a good thing when you're dating someone. Seeing someone look sad when I want to do a weekend trip is kind of wearing on me ). But the guy was near tears the other day when he thought of where he was several months ago... having no friends, being used, sleeping on the street.. to having a stable home, working and going back to school. He was very thankful for everything. He was dreading the holidays because they reminded him of how alone he was, but now he has a new family that are fighting over where he's going to spend Thanksgiving dinner! (I won btw) So hopefully he will have a good time at our house... and there will be some kids and my roommate's younger cousins there too so he won't be in a sea of 40 year olds like my old butt! At least I have a better pet name now... and no, I'm not saying it. Terry

Whats The Weather Like Where You Live?
terrancew_hod replied to RtherBOnACoaster's topic in Random, Random, Random
Partly cloudy and in the 70's. Hope the weather holds for next week, although it would be nice to be clear and in the 80's for the beach party next sunday. Nicer weather = bigger attendance. Terry -

^Just make sure you turn off you PS/3 when you're done. I just read an article that those things suck up massive amounts of electricity. They use up 9 times as much electricity as the Wii... even when you regularly turn them off! Keep up the good work Robb... now I'm on my way downstairs for my Dance Dance Revolution practice/workout. I can't be showed up next week at the Thanksgiving Party! Terry -
RCT3 Scenery Packs

I haven't tried it but the faq says to copy the fil into my documents\rct3\music for the song to appear. You may have to create that directory if it isn't already there. -
RCT3 Scenery Packs

^I already got the elements of the dance club. I found a different scenery pack that gave me what I needed. JJ's house mix won't be spinning though, got much better planned... especially when I can pull a snippet off of one of my dance CDs. I think I have the plan for the first section of the park with the first two rides. I'll only say that the purpose of this section will fill a need similar to "One Mighty Weekend" that happens every year at Disney. Now I just need to get through the tutorial and practice!! Terry -
^No! When I say a younger person, that's usually 18 and older. I do remember some drag queens a long time ago taking in a 16 year old that was homeless after his parents put him out and he kept running away from foster care. So basically he ended up with 3 mothers. They were really protective of him. However the person I'm seeing is 21; not that I was looking for someone that young, but he was really persistent! But he was in foster homes for a while after his parents disowned him. He was on his own for a while; then was homeless after falling in with people that used him, bouncing from friend to friends until this older couple took him in a few months ago. But now he has a support group and he's doing waaay better than when I met him. Terry

RCT3 Scenery Packs
terrancew_hod replied to coasters 4 me's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
I know I pulled some items from Vodhin's site... I don't have any narrowed down, but I was looking at the first few links in the first post of this thread. I clicked on a few of those and couldn't find them. But honestly I have to go through the tutorial levels again to refresh myself. I know I was looking at importing a few of my old coasters that I created from RCT 1 to see if they could be reused. The last time I played around with RCT 3 it was on my laptop that had a ATI 9800 mobile on it... and the park got really laggy. Now that I have a better card I can go back to throwing a park together. I guess when I find something I actually need, I'll ask specifically for it. I have to plan out my park... I do know it would be nice to have some night club elements if they are available.... kind of like a "Pleasure Island". My peeps need a place to party! Terry -
Luckily where I stayed, the parking lot is gated and I'm used to walking quickly in dodgy neighborhoods. The nearby neighborhood isn't too bad and it was less than a mile to some of the parties I attended... so I could leave my car at the hotel and walk through the neighborhoods away from the main street (where the dodgy people hang) until I get to the bar. But then it was a $70 a night hotel so I'm not complaining. But staying overnight in Anaheim is really good advice. I usually do that when I visit Disney and Knotts just because it's closer and cheaper. I stayed at a budget hotel that actually had a whirlpool in the room and I made my own waffles for for breakfast. I think I paid about $70 a night for that as well and was about 1/2 mile from the park. Yeah I'm cheap when it comes to hotels because I'm just sleeping in them for a bit... as long as it has a place for my car, I'm happy. Amen to that. I think the drive from the airport to the rental place was almost a mile and there wasn't anything but industrial buildings with a scattered hotel. You're screwed if you're hungry and didn't get anything at the airport. Terry

RCT3 Scenery Packs

I have a question. As a late starter on RCT3, I was looking at the links on the first post and a lot of them are dead. Does anyone have these packs still or is there an alternate place I can get them? I could probably host them on my website (which is gathering dust), if need be... if only for a short period. Thanks! ^Am I supposed to use my imagination to see the rides? Seriously, I would go back to cleaning up the other park you were working on. That way you can get some practice on how to organize rides and other things in your park. Look at the comments that the people made and see if you can implement them into that park instead of starting over. Also, I wouldn't actually start a new thread on a theme park and just show land. I'm feeling this like is almost a useless thread. Take a look at some of the other threads where people are building their parks and ask yourself "Am I really showing anything interesting?" Honestly, I wasted about a minute of my time on this to see how others are doing their parks in an effort to work on one of my own and there really isn't anything here. I'll probably start my own "Terrance attempts to play RCT3" thread, but I won't show anything unless I have the following: 1. Some rides 2. A little theming. 3. Paths leading from the entrance to the rides. I know you're 8 and I'm not trying to be mean, but I really gotta say that you need to show more than this off the bat. Terry

^I haven't heard such a speech since I gave an ex-roommate my "Your womb is your temple" speech after his alcoholic boyfriend got arrested for throwing dog poop at my landlord! Cut down on the sugar! Terry -
^What he said. When I go to L.A. for New Years (which I will miss this year), I stay at the cheap econolodge near Hollywood and Vine. It had parking (some spaces were a tight fit though). I think they even had a shuttle service to Disney (wasn't by them though) and I know you left at the crack of dawn since it was across town from the park. But if you want to see the fireworks and get around, you need to get a rental car. L.A. is way too big to depend on mass transit if you're on an amusement park schedule and want to see everything without rushing. I believe it could be done though, you would have to find the light rail and bus schedules. But you could probably just get a rental for that day, if parking is too much. Terry

^1. Give yourself time. 2. Keep yourself occupied with something during the time you would normally call her. 3. You're 14. She wasn't the first and she isn't gonna be the last. Don't get too depressed over it, because there's gonna be better heading your way. Terry
