  1. This week my featured card comes from Erlebnispark Tripsdrill in Germany, one of my favorite parks visited on the TPR Europe trip this past summer. I found it to be one of the more quirky parks on the trip. Shown here is G'sengte Sau, which according to RCDB, is the first roller coaster by Gerstlauer. I think Robb may have had as much fun operating it as many of us did riding it. It sure did have some great pops of airtime, and I can't decide which I liked more - G'sengte Sau or the "6 man bathtub bare breasts" flume ride pictured at the bottom of the card. Translation: "Our park totally rules." Thank you Tripsdrill! Translation: "This coaster rocks!"
  2. I'm reminded of the time in 8th grade I lost 16 pounds in 2 weeks eating nothing but watermelon lol.
  3. ^Great tip! Thanks. Just finished my wood ballot but I'm going to sit on it a day or two. Bottom 5 for now: Rattler Fiesta Texas Anaconda Walygator Parc The Bandit Movie Park The Grizzly Great America Son of Beast Kings Island
  4. WOW interesting pics...and Orbit! That thing looks cool. I have never seen that ride before so thanks for sharing!
  5. I am loving this postcard tie-in to Shane's Kennywood Memories mini-series week. Great idea!
  6. YAY...Congrats Sammi! I'm so glad I and the rest of the TPR crew could help you win. Enjoy the cotton candy!
  7. goatdan said: I was surely the odd kid out at that age as I was already listening to heavy and hard rock by 3rd grade. My older sisters would bring home the latest Black Sabbath and Led Zep records and I was thrilled! I definitely would've thought this park was cool way before I turned 13. But you may be right that times have changed. Now the kids seem to be all into "High School Musical" crap.
  8. Shane it's good to know I'm still alive in the year 2028. Wow I guess the Camel lights haven't killed me yet!
  9. I have close-up photos of the bloody aftermath! Do I hear a high bidder? I need to pay for the Scandi trip somehow (Sorry Tom...hugs).
  10. Well I certainly had no idea you ever worked at Kentucky Kingdom Shane. More interesting finds from the attic! I hope that "Opryland Memories" documentary does materialize. Sign me up to buy it now!
  11. One person says it's a dump, another says it's beautiful. One person says they hate it, another says they love it. Sounds like just my kind of place!
  12. That's right...how could I forget the Texas Chute Out?! Always thought that was a bit of a clever name.
  13. No problem...and yes it would be sad if SFGAdv took out the parachutes. I'm not sure if there are any more left besides those and the ones at LaQua in Japan. In my opinion, SFOG should've kept the Great Gasp and moved it over to the Cotton States Exposition section!
  14. ^ No not that I am aware of. I think you might be confused over Shane's comment about Two-Face at SFA which appears to be on its way out of the park.
  15. Woohoo this sure looks like a good series. I'm looking forward to each segment. Great to see Laser Loop back in its glory years too!
  16. <3 I love watching construction of new coasters. Thanks for sharing the pics Robb!
  17. ^ Funny video! Love those old Hollywood stunt effects. It does make me wonder how some of it was filmed as parts of it look like they were actually filmed on ride and look fairly dangerous. Craziness!
  18. Looking forward to that upper New England/Montreal TPR trip some day! I do love Galaxis and hate to see a park take one out, but if it has to be for a mouse, then Maurer Söhne is the bizzomb.
  19. Don't forget Little Coaster at Joyland in Lubbock. That old Miler kiddie coaster is a blast. I think the ride op sent us around the circuit a total of 9 times!
