  1. Beech Bend is open tonight for New Year's Eve and through the night til 1 am. jimths08 this was a fun and good PTR. Thanks for sharing!
  2. Robb both vids played fine for me which is really quite amazing considering I'm in Tennessee. No laggage...just totally stellar Intamin sexyness! I watched both versions full screen, and as I think everyone else has said, the larger file did look better for me too.
  3. ^ Nice! It's a $1.41 here in Nashvegas.
  4. ^^ I concur U23D was brilliant. A couple of times I literally felt like I was on the stage with Bono & Co. Did anyone see the Scorsese Rolling Stones film? Others I enjoyed: Into the Wild, Wall-E, The Dark Knight, and Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian. I suppose those are my tops of 08...tonight anyways and always subject to change.
  5. ^^ I found the hidden Mickey in the half sleeve. Very cool!
  6. It's not quite New York City's Times Square, but I imagine ringing in the new year in Las Vegas could be almost as fun. Here's Manhattan Express umm excuse me The Roller Coaster (the older name was so much better!). Happy 2009 TPR! ...3, 2, 1...Happy New Year! 10, 9, 8...
  7. Hey Peter awesome card! It really makes me wish we were riding Euro-Mir again...love the Santas. Thanks for the contribution!
  8. Thanks Elf Shane! I hope the index will help those who casually visit this thread to find a particular card they might find interesting. I'm actually debating an update to the index by sorting the cards by continent. It might help people find particular cards easier/faster. I think so far only Asia, Europe, and N. America are represented. Any thoughts on that? Come on...where are the rest of you people on other continents? Please share your cards with us.
  9. Merry Christmas Bill! Great seeing you in here...reminds me of how I wish we were back at Aventure Parc sharing that snack tray hah! That was truly an awesome way to spend an afternoon in the Belgian (it was Belgium right?) countryside. YES!!! Please share with us your postcards...would love to see any and all of them. I'm sure you have quite a few gems from the 70's! Wishing you and yours the BEST for the holidays and hope to see you in 2009!
  10. I voted TPR TV. Branding is essential...Coke, Nike, Disney, TPR!
  11. ^ You can still ride Florida Hurricane at its "new" home, Magic Springs: http://www.rcdb.com/id418.htm Europa Park truly is AWESOME and Euro-Mir totally rocks!
  12. Here's some more holiday cheer from "The Happiest Place on Earth"...Merry Christmas everyone! What is figgy pudding anyway? O Tannenbaum, o Tannenbaum
  13. Obama and the Scandi trip.
  14. I'm not sure it's worthy, but T2 could at least use the X2 treatment with the new Vekoma trains and vest restraints. By all accounts of what I've heard about Great Nor'easter, the new trains vastly improved the ride. I guess then it could be called T22.
  15. ^ That's too bad to hear. When Jay Thomas was GM in 2007, the park had really transformed into the best I'd ever seen it in any of my visits since 2000. Now that Jay moved to Valencia, I guess SFKK is reverting back to its former self.
  16. Great Alpine Sleighs cards. The second one looks like the Heat Miser paid a visit.
  17. Potter defo! Can't wait for that. The 6th book was good...better than 5 I thought, although book 3: Azkaban book and movie still remains my fav. I've begun book 7 and reading about a chapter a night. Hmm so no new Spiderman next summer?
  18. Space Mountain is gorgeous. Loves it! How was the ride? It's so hard to believe how empty the park is. Did it ever get busy? Jeff thanks for sharing these awesome photos!
  19. Prices already rose to $1.48 in Nashville when I left work tonight. Glad I filled up last night. Still, gas is pretty cheap right now compared to where it was just a few short months ago.
  20. Still a $1.38 in Nashville. I think it's probably reached its bottom price here, and we'll know for sure towards the end of the week after this OPEC meeting. Anyway I went ahead and filled up and for less than 20 bucks again. YAY!
  21. OPEC has a meeting this Wednesday where it looks like they will announce a production cut of 2 million barrels of oil per day. I guess we better enjoy the lower prices while we can.
  22. Here's a little holiday Christmas card cheer from IOA... Upgrade to the sleigh
  23. I just noticed that the Pilgrims Plunge construction webcam is up and working. Looks like they're working in a little bit of snow right now.
