  1. Shane I love the slide colors. Starburst should reimburse you for all the extra candy sales they will now have in Utah. Oh and I think they match your Amusement Attic logo ensemble perfectly. Great job on the choices!
  2. Congrats Big Mike on a GREAT first year! It was cool to finally meet you on the TPR Europe trip last summer. Keep it up, and I look forward to the Road Show rolling into Nashvegas! Ps...Boy does my postcard thread have a lot of catching up to do!!!
  3. I missed AR tonight since I was watching the Oscars. What team was #1 this week?
  4. Mmmmm Intamin track. I really like the cog wheel picture. Tornado looks like it will be really fun. I love watching construction so thanks for sharing the new pics! I do wonder if it is going to be indoors, why bother painting the track unless there are going to be lights where you can actually see the track. Otherwise, it could have just been left unpainted except for the load area. Regardless, I think it does look good!
  5. Shane I'm sure you've probably already thought of this, but will there be a Cowabunga Bay mascot? I was thinking the surfing cow in the artwork would look good on t-shirts and would be a cool costumed character to roam around the park.
  6. From the snowy peaks of the Alps and the Swiss section of Europa Park, I bring you a postcard of Matterhorn Blitz: Hi Euro-Maus! Cool stunts.
  7. As promised, today I went to see the hottest and arguably the hardest working and most talented lady in the tattoo biz...yes, that's right...none other than Katherine von Drachenberg - aka KAT VON D!!!!! Here are pics from Kat's "High Voltage Tattoo" book signing in Nashville...Enjoy! Thank you Kat! Hottt Dude! Stars Kat and her sister Getting closer We're here...and so are a lot of other peeps Up close and in your face The poster for the book signing
  8. ^ Shane that would be cool in Nashville. However, we do already have Nashville Shores and Wave Country located close to the former Opryland area. I do think it would be possible to successfully add a Cowabunga Bay here though if it was near the Cool Springs/Franklin area about 10 miles south of downtown Nashville. That's the disposable income side of town with lots of young families who would probably eat this up. Chattanooga would be sweet too. Bring it on!
  9. Wouldn't you know prices would drop 2 cents today after I put gas in my car last night lol. It's now $1.64/gal.
  10. Yes it's too bad Xpress was down and Robin Hood was just ok. They did have a nice giant wheel on which I enjoyed freezing. It was seriously gusting some forceful winds at the top. One other ride I enjoyed at Walibizzle was the forwards/backwards flume. Otherwise the park was rather lackluster. So yeah...what is such an awesome ride like Goliath doing in that park?!?! The backside of that card is simply astounding!!!!
  11. Yes I think so Shane. I was just humored that Carowinds included such coaster dork terminology on a general public type postcard. Last time I checked, the GP really didn't know or care what a B & M or Flat-Spin is, but maybe times have changed.
  12. Kat Von D will be in town for a book signing on Saturday, so I'm hoping to go pay her a visit. I'll tell her you all say "hi". By the way, does anyone here have any tattoos from her shop? Nice Tom...what was the inspiration for yours?
  13. ^^ restoca I think that is our first Australian postcard submission. Nice! I like the sea life stamps too. ^ I find it interesting that the Vortex description on the back of the postcard says the coaster includes a "B & M 'Flat-Spin'".
  14. Beech Bend has one, and yes it feels faster than a Scrambler.
  15. Great MillenniumChild! Isn't it awesome when you find forgotten stuff hidden away in your basement/closet/attic like that? I should hide some of my park junk away now for future posterity hah! Thanks for the Carowinds eye candy!!!
  16. Although I initially voted for TPR TV, I think the final official name incorporates the best of both worlds and was a wise choice for the broadest possible appeal to anyone looking for coaster/park vids. Smooth move Robb! Dig on the logo too.
  17. Only 7 years? It has been 7 plus about 20 more years since I've been to BGA. I loved it way back in the 80's, but I'm not sure I'd recognize the place now. I really need to get back to FL...once Potterland opens.
  18. WOW Jeff I can't imagine the time you spent scanning and then posting all those cards! Craziness but great. I guess I know what I'll be doing the rest of the night and possibly on into this week and next...indexing hah!!! Awesome contributions and many thanks. The Myrtle Beach Swamp Fox card looks like a major hurricane just hit. At least I hope that's the excuse for the area around it looking so bad! I really like the vintage SFOT card. Shane...very cool Python card back when the park was still Dark.
  19. Shane this looks awesome! Combined water play fun with an In-N-Out Burger visit and you've got what I predict is a real hit on your hands. I wish you the best!
  20. ^ Good point! Mmmmm Switzerland, and WOW what a great season opener. I was actually laughing out loud at the cheese roll. Some of that was HIGH-LARIOUS. I loved it and was very glad to see the mom/son team win the first leg. Great elimination too lol.
  21. Carrying on with my previous unofficial winter theme (ok so I'm stretching it just a bit with this one), here's a coaster I was fortunate to ride at least half of before SFGAdv modified and then tore down...Batman and Robin: The Chiller. Robin was the only side open during my one visit to SFGAdv back in '05. I remember the ride op was having a hoot teasing the riders with the launch. It was hilarious, and I wish more ride ops were like her and had fun with their jobs. The scan of this card doesn't really do it justice as it shimmers when moved and tilted in the light. Yes, it's supposed to look all icey and cracked too.
  22. Cool...if you can please scan front and back of each card. Thanks man!
  23. Hi Jeff...AWESOME additions to this thread! Is the Thunder Run photo an actual postcard? I hesitated before adding it to the postcard index. Great picture of what I consider the hidden gem of the South. Thanks for the contributions, and keep 'em coming!
