  1. Hanno I'm always amazed at how you capture the wheels not touching the track. I've never seen anyone else come close to capturing that, not even in published books. Amazing!!! As always thank you for sharing.
  2. Yeah they really should just retheme the whole park to comics and be done with it already.
  3. Thanks Olov...keeping my fingers crossed too. RCDB lists the opening date as May 30. Miracles do happen.
  4. Thanks dj snow. My parents are probably a little too aged to do the cave tour since it involves climbing and stairs, but noted for future reference. Is there any type of shuttle to the park from Branson? At Dollywood I often park in Pigeon Forge and take the Dolly Trolley to the park. It saves a bundle on parking fees which I'd rather spend on food and souvenirs.
  5. ^ We'll probably be there next Sunday. The weather forecast is looking great right now! Thanks both of you...this is just the kind of info I'm looking for! Last year I took my parents to Dollywood (they'd been before but not in a few years), so this will be our theme park excursion for this year. They LOVE the shows, and that's one of the main reasons I'm taking them to SDC. "World Fest" will be happening, which looks to be awesome by the way...can't wait to see the Irish dancers and Chinese acrobats! We'll definitely hit up the Silver Dollar Saloon show too. I'm not sure how much riding I'll get to do since this is mainly a trip for them, but I'll try to hit all the coasters if time and crowds allow. Mmmm if the cinnamon bread is anything like Dollywood's, I'm already hungry! The apples sound amazing too. We had the skillet food at DW last year and loved it, so is it kinda the same at SDC?
  6. I'm planning a trip hopefully for next weekend to Silver Dollar City in Branson, MO. Having never been there before, I was wondering what things I should not miss such as any special food or hidden attractions. Also, I'll be going with my parents who don't like thrill rides, but are there any mild rides they can enjoy? Is Flooded Mine a mild ride with no hidden drops? Any help would be appreciated...thanks!
  7. Actually I was referring to these cool dudes... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NtFTwaQhSDU
  8. YES and can we have the Banana Splits back too?!
  9. Since the Enterprise ride seems to be a hot topic lately, here's the Huss version, Zulu, at Worlds of Fun. Do you like my sexy sliding doors?
  10. It's interesting that one half of Lightnin' Loops is still operating today at Frontier City!
  11. It's been a LONG time since I've been over to the more Eastern part of Europe. I would love to get back there again, and your pictures really reminded me why...so beautiful and amazing. Thanks MUCH for sharing!
  12. I can never decide if I like the Schwarzkopf or Huss Enterprise more than the other. if I remember correctly, with the Schwarzkopf version there is more of a bench to straddle and you sit higher off the floor. I also love that slam sound of the Schwarzkopf version when you pull down the lid of the car. Oh well both versions are cool!
  13. Ok I think I've had these GG Timberliner trains confused with the new PTC one benchers this whole time, which is why I said "clunky" (referring to the PTC's) in my post up above. So Timberliners are not related to the PTC one benchers at all correct?
  14. I really love the "openness" of the seats and hope they don't get enclosed in shells. I think these look MUCH better than the original (clunky)Timberliners I remember seeing last year.
  15. Hey Scott...that would be awesome! Enjoy Diamondback tomorrow too!
  16. That wacked out looking building in Prague is by world reknown master of modern architecture, Frank Gehry. Very famous and quite cool looking if you ask me. Here's some more info on it... http://www.galinsky.com/buildings/dancinghouse/index.htm Prague is one of my fave cities ever, so thanks for the awesome photos. Great photo TR so far and I can't wait to get home from work to really czech out all your photos.
  17. Hmmm I haven't driven out that way in a while. Looks like I may have to go investigate and see if I can find that Jurassic machine.
  18. ^ That looks very tasty Dave! I could so go for that right now.
  19. 5 fatalities and decapitations?! Now I'm really intrigued by this postcard and coaster. Unfortunately, there are no pics of Coaster Dips on RCDB that I could find, and it's not ringing a bell with me right now. Looks like I'll have to peruse the coaster books to search for more info unless either of you have some photos you could share with us.
  20. One of my favorite parks on the US west coast is Bonfa...err Gilroy Gardens. Those Circus Trees are amazing! You can see one of them forming a garden gateway arch in the lower right corner of this card as well as on the back side of the card.
  21. Since I just saw the movie, "Adventureland" last weekend, I thought I'd mention that there are several arcade/pinball scenes. I'm not sure if those were shot in an arcade at Kennywood, but I did notice the Gorgar machine in particular. Take me back to 1987 please!
  22. Woohooo suddenly the upcoming TPR Scandi trip just got a little more exciting...than it already was! Thanks for the pics!
  23. ^ LOVE those colors. That is gorgeous! I would love to have tried out the wicked looking hairpin turn on the Dips!
  24. Noted for the Scandi trip. Thanks Lou!
  25. restoca...I just noticed it looks like both your Cedar Point and Lake Compounce cards were made by the same company. Also, the same company name appears on cycamps' Riverview and CP Ballroom cards from p.43, so this company must've been one of the major park postcard makers back in the day.
