  1. Thanks! Yes, the zoo here is totally worth checking out for at least a few hours. The bowling pics will be coming soon!
  2. Last Sunday, my married friends, Josh & Emily, and I decided to go check out the Grassmere Zoo in Nashville. I had a free ticket and had never been to this zoo, so naturally I called up my two closest animal-loving friends and off we went! Here's an exclusive look at our visit...oh and afterwards we went bowling with Emily's brother, Jeff, where we discovered they were hosting a very luxurious high school prom. Check it out! Overall, we had a really great time at the zoo. As you can see here, we are still perfecting our camera skills. Next stop bowling...with a high school prom! Josh has too! Emily has gone wild at the Nashville Zoo! Baby lynx says hi TPR! It must have been intimate moment day at the zoo. Touch my monkey. The zoo has a carousel themed to what else...animals! How very creative!!! I tell you that Conor Oberst sure does get around. Giant man-eating pachyderm! Someone attached some of Slash's hair to this poor animal's tail. This giraffe was sharing an intimate moment with a tree. Emily and Bobo the giraffe say hi TPR! Emily and Josh brought their pet giraffe, Bobo, from home so he could frolic with his captive zoo buddies. After escaping death with the mighty fine swine, we ventured over to see the zoo's collection of giraffes where we caught these two sharing an intimate moment. Nobody breathe! Next we risked our H1N1 fearing lives to bring you exclusive photos of the zoo's mighty fine swine. All this looking at animals can really make you want to eat one...mmmmm burger. We see you other mr. unseen iguana like animal. Hi mr. unseen iguana like animal! This frog is totally unseen. Seriously! Next we went into the Unseen New World attraction where all of the animals on display are invisible. Josh and Emily just couldn't resist playing with this escaped meerkat. The celebrities from Meerkat Manor dropped by to say hi to TPR too! We got pretty close to the gibbons as there was only a small moat separating us from them and our certain death! Next, this gibbon swung down out of a tree to say hi to TPR. Upon entry, we were greeted by these two hyacinth macaws. One of them was named Tim. Josh, Emily, and I at the zoo entrance displaying our talents for not looking straight into the camera lens.
  3. To coincide with the season finale over at Shane's Amusement Attic, here's a postcard from the world's first Intamin rapids ride, Thunder River, at Six Flags AstroWorld. Hi RapidsNerd!
  4. Some of you may remember when Shane allowed me to borrow the keys to his patented time machine for a visit to SFOG the year Mindbender opened. Well that was so much fun I asked if he'd allow me to take the time machine out for another spin, and he said yes! Without delay, I hopped in the contraption, cranked the engine, and was immediately transported to Houston circa Halloween 2005, the final closing weekend of SFAW. 5. Right on Rich! Thanks for sharing. Can't wait to see a full on POV.
  6. ^ Woo my first and still my favorite Schwarzy! Thanks Scott. ^^ Sadly Shane I remember seeing the Astro Wheel carriages sitting by the employee entrance when I visited for final closing weekend in 2005. They were really colorful! It was as if the employees could take a picnic lunch and eat inside them. I have some up close photos of those I need to dig out. A new milestone has been reached today for the Paradise...50 pages and over 50,000 views! Thanks everyone for looking and contributing!
  7. Great tie-in to your AstroWorld mini-series season finale Shane! I'll miss the Attic over the summer. Thanks again for sharing all your amazing memorabilia. It was another fantastic season! Oh and by the way, the Postcard Paradise will still be open for business this summer, so feel free to continue your great postcard contributions when you're not too busy at Cowabunga Bay (<---would love to see any postcards from there too if you are getting any made).
  8. I voted for you! Nice pics by the way, and I hope you win!
  9. Great news Peter. I'm still holding out hope that it opens and no one breaks it before we get there in a few more weeks. Thanks for keeping us updated!
  10. OhmyWOW it's an AW mini-series!!! I know what I'll be checking out for the next week or two at least. Thanks Shane!
  11. Great season finale Shane! I too have always loved anything to do with AW. It amazes me that Randall Duell was able to cram 12 themed lands into this park! Has any park ever exceeded that many lands/themes at once?!
  12. If you took your memory card out of your camera to download the pics to your computer, are you sure you put the card back into your cam? Just a thought.
  13. I just love the old KI logo and font. Great card Shane! While on the subject of KI, here's a unique postcard of sorts featuring the Eiffel Tower. ? For all you jigsaw puzzle fans
  14. ^^ Tom you've obviously never eaten the food from my junior high cafeteria!
  15. I absolutely LOVED Drievliet's Formule X on the TPR Europa trip last summer! So great and probably the biggest surprise of the whole trip. Thanks for the photos of Falcon too. It looks good! Edited to add that I'm really glad the name changed to Falcon. Rick's Delight just sounded too much like that yucky marshmallow dessert garbage from the cafeteria during my junior high school days.
  16. Good to see another Mew fan on here! Serena Maneesh and Kent are two other bands I like from northern Europe as well. Because I rock mostly British bands, I've been known to spin a few Placebo and Muse tunes too.
  17. Seriously Elissa?! I just looked at the application and it doesn't look too bad. It's 13 pages, but the last 3 pages are just waiver type stuff. The questions look fairly easy. Application. I wish I knew how to answer some of the questions and I'd totally submit the app for you! It looks like there are no casting calls at the moment, so I wonder if they've already selected the teams for AR15.
  18. This was a really good season. I think my fav episode was the stop they did in Switzerland with the cheese roll. So now that Amazing Race 15 is next, Robb and Elissa what do we have to do to get you guys on there?! With your world travel experiences, I know you two would totally rock it. Plus it'd be a blast to see you guys on TV every week. Do it do it!
  19. Wow I'd like to get one of those Balder stamps! Will the park be selling them by chance?
  20. Shane those Time Warp renderings are cool to see! Congrats on your big splash too!
  21. This place looks awesome, and I totally want to go there! Thanks for sharing your trip photos!
  22. Well I'm all for progress, but shoot that is my fav mouse I've ever ridden! Hopefully some other park can pick it up although it sounds like it's very costly to maintain.
  23. It might be time to call the Guinness Book people for what looks like the world's fastest erection lol. Seriously I'm amazed at how fast this is being built!
  24. From one Cedar Fair park to another, here's a postcard of Vortex from when Paramount still owned Kings Island. Anyone got a Diamondback postcard yet? Coat hanger enthusiasts rejoice!
