  1. Best Drunken Barrels of Death ride ever! This really is an awesomely fun ride at Sea Paradise, and I don't understand why more parks haven't kept or installed them. I appreciate the update Robb!
  2. Phantasialand rocks. I liked this place...a lot. Thanks for the cool winter photos!
  3. It will surely be a cruel summer if Bananarama turns out to be a hoax.
  4. Continuing with my unofficial winter weather theme, this week the forecast is calling for 100% frozen precipitation! Here's one I think TheRapidsNerd will enjoy...
  5. ^ Terry that reminds me of checking into the Disneyland Paris hotel for some odd reason!
  6. It must be for Beechx Bendx! Well if they can't afford an Intamin it's the next best thing.
  7. ^ Classic postcard restoca! Alas it's one of the few John Miller designed woodies still operating. I rank this at #31 on Mitch's poll, and really I would rank it a good bit higher had my visit to SFA in 2005 been better. EXTREMELY lackadaisical ride ops can definitely kill a good coaster vibe for me, but this coaster was fun, and one can only imagine how amazing the back turn was before reprofiling!
  8. Screw Wiggles and Thomas...bring on Mr. Six and Yo Gabba Gabba!
  9. I think the cartooning of Mr. Six is a really good idea. Exaggerate his bald head and make it really big like Michael Stipe's or Billy Corgan's...or mine in a few more years at the rate I'm going.
  10. My Mr. Six bobblehead is doing the happy Mr. Six dance! Hopefully we see some new Wendy's kids meal Mr. Six toys to go with his return.
  11. YAY! It's like the return of Sid and Marty Krofft shows I loved when I was a kid. The green character reminds me of Sigmund the Seamonster. This is awesome!
  12. I was thinking Johnny Cash too. Great pics and thanks for sharing!
  13. Jeff Pike explained on the Kentucky Rumbler tour that the concrete slab allows the coaster to be all tied together much like house construction built on a slab. Thus, with the footers locked into place, the ride holds up better with much less maintenance required over time. I wonder if it might be possible to use a "waffle" slab which would allow vegetation to grow through and be a little more on the enviro friendly green side.
  14. It has been a week of some of the coldest weather yet of the off season. So, it seemed appropriate to present this woodie of colossal proportions, Shivering Timbers. BRRRRRRR!
  15. $1.65 in Nashvegas.
  16. Nice to see video of Opryland. Thanks Shane!
  17. Hmmm...That Mountain Express postcard in the Sky Tower looks familiar. Great to see Terminator go vertical!
  18. Don't pay the Ferryman...good one although I was thinking more along the lines of Lady in Red.
  19. That view of Colossus brings to mind a certain Chris De Burgh song. Sexy!
  20. Shane you're probably elated to know I don't have anymore Colossus postcards with awful logos...in fact I think that's the only one in my whole collection. I really must change that someday when I can ever get back out to Cali. ^^ I'm always amazed people wore those kinds of clothes to parks in the early 1900's. Then again we saw more than quite a few Japanese people dressed up in the parks in Japan. Girls rockin' stilettos and all!
  21. So I did go see "Let the Right One In" over the weekend, and it was really good. It was definitely not your average "vampire movie". I thoroughly enjoyed the stark and very minimalist qualities of it, and it made me look even more forward to the Scandi trip this summer. Definitely worth checking out!
  22. Amazing card restoca! According to a reliable friend of mine who lives in the area (Hi James), that is the Scenic Railway from White City in Shrewsbury (i.e. Worcester) as listed on RCDB.
  23. When I lived in NW Alabama we had a little hole in the wall Cajun restaurant that served awesome gator tail sandwiches. They were oh so delectable!
  24. Here is Colossus with what appears to be a 6 car Morgan train... Why do I not remember the "climactic jump"? A different train yet again
  25. Elissa can you go ahead and sign me up for that Brazil/SA trip?!
