  1. I felt like I "grew" as an enthusiast last year when I'd rather ride Bizarro one more time than get SFNE's kiddie coaster credit.
  2. Awww... TPR's pov video made the ride seem pretty enjoyable.
  3. Wild rumors and speculation make the enthusiast world go around.
  4. As an enthusiast, I'd kind of like to see Cedar Fair engage with some other manufacturers (and maybe they are) than B&M. I'd really like to see an American park (not just CF) receive a Blue Fire type coaster or a custom variant.
  5. Cedar Fair did invest in two huge coaster in 2010 with the two Intimidators. So it wouldn't be unprecedented for both KD and CW to each get a $20+ million coaster in 2017. Not that I think KD needs a $20 million coaster. T'would be nice though.
  6. See, I'm the opposite. I like sitting in the front and getting pops just as the train goes over the top. It really depends on the coaster. Some are definitely front row rides, but for me some are best in the back For me, Goliath really fits this description. My first ride on it was in the front and really underwhelming. Much better ride in the back. Outlaw Run was totally different as I enjoyed all parts of the train. I suspect Lightning Rod will be more like Outlaw Run than Goliath
  7. I thought that was debunked as not being anything of significance.
  8. Hah--I'll remember to give it another shot next time I'm at the park. On another note... how is Nitro running this year? When I rode it last year I noticed a rattle and it didn't seem quite as smooth.
  9. Totally disagree with that last part. That drop tower is messing with how frequently trains can be dispatched. I think that's a New Jersey regulated issue but I wouldn't want to risk that with Dragster.
  10. I really don't remember much about my one ride on Skull Mountain. I was surprised to see all that praise people were giving it. Maybe being 6'2 the ride became more forgettable for me.
  11. Top Thrill The airtime/speed hill (whatever you want to call it) on KK doesn't do much for me and TTD's restraints and sense of freedom are dope.
  12. It is not a coaster, so by definition, it is not. I fail to see how an amazing flat ride isn't a massive upgrade from a terrible coaster. If given the choice between Maxair and a piece of crap standup I'd pick Maxair in a heartbeat, this will absolutely be a better ride than many of the coasters at KD. I just sent a picture of Maxair to my (GP) friend and he wasn't impressed. I told him that I had a lot of fun on it at CP and Delirium would be a big upgrade over Shockwave. His words: "Looks kinda average to me. I feel like I can can get a comparable thrill from The Berserker or Da'Vinci's Cradle." Which is completely false, berserker sucks and hurts, and davincis cradle isn't even worth standing in a 5 minute line for. My response was along those lines. His point is that it's all just "swinging" the riders when you get down to it. My counterpoint was that not all flat rides are created equally and I hadn't ridden Berzerker in ages because of how brutal it is.
  13. I swear, this is turning into another situation like that dress uproar a little while ago! Clearly, some people are seeing this track color as being something other than what it is. I see it orange as clear as day, and everybody I've shown pictures to says the same (although it's definitely a darker orange). I've never seen it in person though, and people are reporting that it looks brown in person... Very bizarre situation indeed... Just out of curiosity, I wonder if the people who see Valravn as brown, also saw that dress as blue/black? Seriously though, there may be something to that, scientifically, regarding the way different people see colors. Again, I know the color doesn't affect the ride, so on that level, I don't care, but this disparity in what color people are seeing does fascinate me... I think it looks like "sienna" on the Crayola color spectrum. I'm half-kidding, half-not.

  15. I don't get it. I think he's stating that because coaster track has shown up onsite, RCDB is finally acknowledging that Cedar Point is getting a coaster for 2016.
  16. I think he was a special ed teacher. Which makes this all really awkward.
  17. I don't remember which thread it was, but I thought I read somewhere that the Huss topspins may go on the chopping block across the Cedar Fair parks (I'm not sure how many there are) relatively soon--1-2 years. I think I only rode the Crypt once and vowed never again. Are there any signs that that particular ride's days are numbered (obviously not going away after this year)? Is the ride down a significant amount of time?
  18. Not sure if I posted in this thread already but here's the latest: Shockwave Hypersonic XLC Galaxi Drachen Fire Big Bad Wolf Thunder Road Great American Scream Machine Rolling Thunder Deja Vu (SFoG)-- rcdb lists it as being in storage so I'll count it for now Gwazi Are people counting pre-RMC Rattler and Texas Giant? If so, add those.
  19. Well, I hope to make my first visit to VF within the next 12 months. It will all be new to me.
  20. A lot of rumors out there suggesting both KD and CW will be getting a wing coaster in 2017.
  21. Pardon me if I missed it earlier, but when is Valleyfair's 2016 announcement supposed to be?
