All the Intamin rocket coasters use the hydraulic launch, but yeah Lynet uses LSMs. -

That's a sharp logo, and if that's really the layout than I may have just peed a bit. -
The Disneyland Railroad will always have a special place in my heart as my first attraction. I've liked trains since I was a little kid and through pure luck, I was hired in to be a conductor on the DL RR which is considered a very sought after and hard to get position. The layout itself is pretty interesting, I love how the track cuts through Splash Mountain and goes over the Critter Country bridge, it's fun to wave at the guests below you and see all the kids exstatic about seeing a train. The diorama scenes are really cool and add a unique touch to the ride. We also have Walt Disney's presidential/VIP rail car, the Lily Belle (currently attached to Holiday 5) If you're ever in the park a ride in this car is a must.

Kraken at Sea World Orlando. Love the elements, colors, theming, it's just beautiful. -
Speed: The Ride in Las Vegas .... Closed?
ECZenith replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Don't forget Canyon Blaster! There is a rumor that Circus Circus will be getting a spinning coaster, with all these removals and now this possible closure it's good to know at least the Adventuredome is doing decent business with their rides. -
Speed: The Ride in Las Vegas .... Closed?
ECZenith replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Awee, I hope it isn't going to be removed, it's my favorite coaster in Vegas and one of the last survivor's from Vegas' coaster genocide. Noooo! Not my baby! -

Looks amazing! I've yet to ride Mystery Mine so this is just another Euro Fighter out of reach for me. Some day one will show up in Cali, I just know it. -

Yeah, those areas that are completely empty right now will be landscaped and trees will be added later, I was just showing off the complete track. -

Awee, I miss Reithoffer shows, it's the only show I've seen that has a Huss Flipper. I was fortunate enough to ride an operating Tango earlier this summer at the San Diego Fair. (not to mention Evolution) Nice TR, I love seeing different areas' fairs. Evil... the good kind. -

Finally a second aquatrax! Hey Intamin... we want one in the states too! -
I definately welcome the changes to Sun Wheel and Orange Stinger. It's true that a lot of people see these attractions as dressed up carnival rides but in retrospect so are Dumbo and Astro Orbitor and they are very popular rides. I think there are more complaints about DCA's Paradise Pier rides not being "Disney" enough and this will definately satisfy some of those thoughts. I agree with Darkling when he says the pier has these rides to keep with a boardwalk theme. If you pulled out all of the "carnival" rides and replaced them with typical Disney dark rides or shows it would just lose that nostalgic feel. I do feel, however, that Maliboomer should get the axe just for the fact that there's a great drop ride already in the park and if DCA is going with it's current plan, a nice shady place to rest is just what that area of the park needs. I think Maliboomer is the most out of place attraction in the park, if they had built it like the original concept art showed (with brown tree trunk towers and giant palm fronds at the top) then it would at least be interesting and a new "landmark" for DCA. The park is adding enough new "non-carnival" type rides in the near future with Radiator Springs/Route 66, Ariel's Adventure, etc. so I say keep the spinners! All of this talk about the new rides almost makes you forget about world of color... that's just going to be epic.

Riptide Reef (RCT III)
ECZenith replied to ECZenith's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
As promised, here are some screenshots of progress on Riptide Reef. Trackwork on Neptune is done but landscaping, theming and supports are not so it's about 90% complete... Park progress as of September 2008. In the near future expect to see a wooden coaster, yet another B&M and some water rides. Thanks for checking out the shots! Neptune's finale The "tidal twist" area has just begun landscaping, this area will have lots of theming when completed. Neptune's turnaround gets up close and personal with Riptide Airtime! Riders get ready to take the plunge... Neptune climbing it's massive lift Riptide Reef has received a second B&M coaster, Neptune. The station is not even close to being done and I'm just playing with some concepts here. Note how the monorail passes through the dark ride... "Mermaid Falls" has been put up by Riptide's finale. This area has some food and souvenir stands. The new Mutiny Cove dark ride, I won't spoil the interior, you can see for yourself when the park becomes available to download. A couple of new flat rides for the midway -
Riptide Reef (RCT III)
ECZenith replied to ECZenith's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
I can't believe it's been 3 months since I've updated this thread... I have been busy with new opportunities at work and moving to the OC, but I have been consistently updating my RCT3 project. I have since added a new multi-level dark ride, a new B&M coaster (which is just as impressive as Riptide IMO) and several flat rides have been added to the midway. I'm sorry it's been so long but screens are on the way! Screenshots coming soon... -

ECZenith replied to itnotfair's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Murd-a-horn is two tracks so of course it's two "credits". Add to that the fact that the two tracks aren't exactly the same and there's no way you could count as just one track. -
I was gonna say it looks like Disneyland and Knott's (and the mailman) had a baby...

Riptide Reef (RCT III)
ECZenith posted a topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
I've been working on this Pacific Ocean themed park for several months now, andf since I've picked up the pace on the project I thought I'd show some screenshots... Back into daylight, the coaster flips through a vertical loop, glides through a helix and threads through the loop in the brake run. That's all for now, more screenshots of other RR attractions coming soon! After this flat spin, riders take on some pitch black airtime under the station building. After a Zero-G roll and a glide through the block zone, Riptide dives into the triple-chop and narrowly misses the monorail beam, rocks and giant jagged shells! ...followed by its signature Pacific Knot that features a mist-filled cove. Riptide's 65 mph tire-drive launch surges riders over a massive airtime hill and a cobra roll... Riptide's station, structure's done but some theming will be added. Guests enter the park via an underwater tunnel and come face to face with Riptide's wraith. The midway starting to take shape... Deadwood Inn is a multivel dark ride themed after an abandoned beachside motel. The monorail runs right through the building! -
Oh wow... I remember riding the HurriPain when I lived in Rhode Island, besides the fact that it smashes you around, it's the one ride that always feels like it's going to break! Coming back from the San Diego fair, these pictures make me feel... dirty. Just kidding, I'm known to never just drive by ANY carnival.
