  1. ^ It is a very interesting angle for this element, looks impossible to maneuver through. And yes, Hanno those are some very very nice photos.
  2. B-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l! I love that this coaster basically is consisted of new elements (for a B&M flyer), especially happy to see B&M do a straight drop on one!
  3. Very nice theming on this one, the dinosaur bones remind me of Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. Yeehaw
  4. Beautiful coaster, lovely photos. That airtime hill looks really effective
  5. Looks very nice ! Now I may actually go to this park for the first time.
  6. I'm surprised one hasn't been built in Dubai, they're probably the only ones that can afford a 500'+ coaster reasonably. Remember this one? Was going to be 750' drop into a 415' drop... and made by Arrow Dynamics. Never got approved, for better or worse... we will never know. Fish hook indeed
  7. This coaster and Raptor look incredible. Kudos to Merlin for delivering some sweet B&Ms with a high level of theming, to be it doesn't get any better than that.
  8. That's right S&S... you tell them what's up. It's only their most prized design, I'd defend the rights to its originality too. It's something to be proud of.
  9. Vigil, Busch has recently built similar coasters at both of their parks within a year or two of eachother, Alpengeist & Montu, SheiKra and Griffon, and now Cheetah Hunt and likely this project. I assume it's a better decision business wise to purchase two coasters from the same manufacturer. I'm so excited to see BBW (which I thought was a classic but just ok...) be replaced with something like an Intamin launched coaster, can't wait for both this and Cheetah Hunt.
  10. Does anyone have any photos of this type of coaster in operation?
  11. You're right, it is spelled without the L now that I look at the translation. I can see it being a play on words to get 'bolt' in there, to represent speed.
  12. I love the name Verbolten, hope it gets picked over the turbo name... still can't get over the name Cheetah Hunt. Verbolten translates to "forbidden", and to me that would make more sense for a theme, especially for a new attraction replacing the Big Bad Wolf. Launching through a forbidden forest with indoor sections and special effects, this is starting to sound like the ride I was always hoping Busch Gardens would build.
  13. Looks like that mystery orange and blue coaster track spotted headed to the northeast will be for the new "50 foot tall, orange and blue spinning" ride Lake Compounce hinted at. Between this and Untamed at Canobie, and a new mouse at SFNE, it's a good year for New England coaster fans.
  14. Yet another B&M for an already sweet collection of them.
  15. I love the color of the track, should look great on an already beautiful landscape and expected theming elements.
  16. Maybe moving back to the east coast isn't going to be so bad after all! I love that launch out of the trench, the views from the skyride will be awesome!
  17. I really like this design, and I can imagine once the prototype opens we'll see some stateside soon enough. Screamscape was showing off new B&M track today, it could possibly be X-Raptor's given the color is very close to that in the concept art. http://screamscape.com/html/bm_track_0.htm
  18. It's not to avoid an illusion, protocol for most rides would be to cycle out the vehicles/trains already on the circuit rather than just stop them dead in their place because if there were a major earthquake or catastrophe, you would want the vehicles to have a chance to get back to the platform rather than have a building come down on top of riders who are strapped in with a seatbelt or lapbar. I was operating Indy at the time and did just that.
  19. That's good that so far the only ride closure I could be dealing with is Splash Mtn., I have one practically in my backyard so I can afford to miss it. Thank you for the great tips so far, looks like aside from the weather, January would be good crowdwise and with most of the big attractions running. Still hoping SpectroMagic returns after MSEP ends' I guess only time will tell. I'm hoping that whenever the electric parade returns to Disneyland it goes back to DL and not DCA. which I think is most likely given that World Of Color is already taking the night spotlight. I like the idea of doing 4 days at WDW and only one at Universal, I would be able to see every nighttime show and have plenty of time do check out all the rides. It's an added plus that me and my girlfriend will get into WDW for free with my blue gate pass. What rides at WDW do you think are superior to their DL counterparts? If I remember correctly they had a really good haunted mansion but the west coast version of pirates was way longer. And we all know the goooood tower is back east, but what else should a DL regular be sure to visit at WDW?
  20. Wow, I had no idea there was another one in Japan. What is this one like for those who have been on it? I'm curious to know what features will make Transformers next-gen versions of Spiderman, given how already impressive these rides are. What upgrades can we expect? For those following the construction of the F1 park, what will there 3d dark ride be like? And while we're on the topic, which company makes these things?
  21. Hello all, I was hoping some Florida locals could help me out with my upcoming WDW trip this January-March. I had a few questions as I haven't been to the Walt Disney World resort since Everest's paint was still drying. I can only go on vacation between January and March because I'm a Disneyland cast member and any other time of the year I'm working quite a bit in either the holiday or summer seasons. I would like to spend 3 days at WDW, 2 days at Universal and 1 at Sea World. Some of my best memories from my childhood were from seeing the Magic Kingdom's SpectroMagic parade, the east coast version of Disneyland Resort's Electrical PArade. I really, really would like to see this parade again... I know Magic Kingdom is "borrowing" the MSEP from California until mid-August when Summer Nightastic! ends, but my question is will the SpectroMagic parade return after that? DOes SM run around January to March or is it only around during the busy seasons? My other question was, where did the SpectroMagic parade go while they are using the electrical parade from DL? I just want to make sure the thing is still in existence. What fireworks show can I expect to see (if anything) in this part of the year? I'm wondering what attractions I might find closed when I go this time of year, as I know Disneyland is usually refurbishing their major rides in the winter for the upcoming busy seasons. Are Dinosaur, Everest, Test Track, and Mission Space going to be running if I go in late winter, early spring? Also... is it true that you can't be late for your fastpass return times like you can at Disneyland? A few people that went out there told me they were more strict about exact return times, which I find hard to believe. Any help is greatly appreciated!
  22. Wow at the first drop. Please let Ghostirder be the next "re-do"...
  23. Great! I love these types of rides. That now brings the total of these 3d dark rides up to 6 counting the ones under construction. This shows me an explosion of popularity recently. The Spiderman rides sat for years before the technology was implemented elsewhere. Spiderman (IoA) Spiderman (Tokyo) Transformers (USH) Transformers (USS) Darkastle Speed of Magic
  24. Wow, this actually looks really cool, I love the rise after the launch, very different.
  25. My favorite launched coaster is California Screamin'... It's such a long ride with great pacing and a nice atmosphere. The loop halfway through the ride always catches me off guard. My favorite launch ON a coaster is still Kingda KA by far, it's one of the few coasters that can wow me every time. California Screamin', my favorite launched coaster My favorite LAUNCH
