*** THE BEBES *** Rainbow Magicland ITALY TR
WFChris replied to The Bebes's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
I love the fact that you not only pulled the watermark joke, you also took the time to overexpose and wash out the rest of the image. *Oh, and Bebes, I guess you guys get my 600th post. Hooray! -
The restraints on x are much more versatile when factoring rider size in. The restraint system moves up and down AND is put on like a backpack. Viper only has the OTSR, and its quite wide at the top. I agree with those height requirements based purely on their restraint system rather than 'thrill.' I remember riding Goldrusher right when I hit the 48" mark, and I do remember a couple of little pops, particularly at the back of the train, where I felt that I could have popped up a bit too much for comfort. I was a skinny kid, too. The Goldrusher restraints go down to a set height, so once again I think it may be a safety issue with their system. Then again I'm not a pro. Ta da!

Gardaland Discussion Thread
WFChris replied to Rockman89's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I don't understand all of the negative posts about this thing. NONE of you have ridden it so is there really any room to criticize it? It looks to be the same concept of Furious Baco, minus a launch. Regardless of competition or what it does, it looks a lot like X2, so you will get the comparisons. I do think this is a 'step 1' for B&M in that direction, but thats just my opinion. The ride looks great! Very elegant. I think it is the natural evolution from their '10 seats wide' train design. If the outside seats are more popular, this is a good way to emphasize those seats. -

Nice report. I also think those food prices actually looked pretty reasonable. And yes, I also think the '#' sign is major tackiness. -
Fuji-Q Highlands Discussion Thread
WFChris replied to Ed's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I don't understand why, of all parks, Fuji-Q would build a potential capacity monster like this. . . . -
The 7th Guest....man, I even bought the strategy guide for that one!

Is nobody else noticing that the outer ring of the ride is a repetitive and boring ride? The interior is the excitement that your eyes are drawn toward yet there are significantly less seats there.... Make the outer ring just for mechanics and put all of the passenger seating on the interior. Thats a good ride

^Waterman has been running a special on their season passes where they let you use it the following year if they open for less than 5 weekends each year!

Remember, Apocalypse has that new fangled base design that is all one slab of concrete. This alone is going to make the ride earthquake proof and last forever and ever. -
Cool reports! Do you ski locally in Southern California? I mention Mt. Baldy whenever I can, its the best skiing experience you can get down here! No lines, steep runs, and more skiers than snowboarders

The outer ring, where the majority of the seats are, looks like a boring repetitive ride.

I think if you show up to the TPR event early and have a social attitude, you will link up with some very cool people in seconds. WCB is a very mixed crowd and unlike some other parts of the country we are very open and casual. For an example, just look at the stats on this thread. According to this, almost a third of TPR is GLBT and even regardless of that, everybody is super nice at WCB.

Erik & Smisty's Florida Oddventures

Looks like they are doing ok for business too! Seems like the kind of park you see closing up shop these days so it's nice to see a successful marine zoo. Thanks for the fun reports! -
So we have Roadrunner Express and Apocalypse. Standing by for rename of Green Lantern to 'Vertical Flippy Ride.' I am glad they gave the roller skater a 36" requirement though, even if it DOES reside over with the rest of the under 54" rides. Maybe SFMM wants to keep all the kids stuff right there, like at PKI? I find it kind of nice exploring the park without a bazillion kids around, its the #1 reason I have not visited the Disney properties more than I have.

TPR's Ever Evolving Park Index
WFChris replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Looks awesome. With this system, we will see how our 'top 10' parks stand. Cant wait to see all the 1's and 5's for SFMM and CP from their respective fanboys -
I can direct you to some other local hot springs that I learned of when I lived in the Sierras....not any farther than Hot Creek. Let me know!

^ There are plenty of people to hang out with at WCB...its a *huge* TPR event!
