The WCB 2010 Appreciation Thread
WFChris replied to Sir Clinksalot's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^I couldn't afford to go this year, but I have been, and I am totally envious of all of you guys. It's nice to feel like a VIP and have a truly wonderful experience in a park you thought you already knew. R & E & C do a great job organizing all of this for us. Chris. -

What do you guys expect the advertising to be? I mean, come on. "We are opening a mediocre roller coaster, come out and ride it!" They invested a ton of money into the ride, it DOES feature a new trick, and a bunch of people think its pretty cool. Look at other commercials, everything is going to make you hot, beautiful, and perfect. It is not out of the ordinary to hype up your product. -

I really like your new format of showcasing specific segments of (for now) the Disney parks. Really in depth and fun to read, as always:) Chris. -

The GCI Mystery Project

Just because I am bored, I checked out Silver Dollar City on Google Earth, and it seems to me that there are a TON of amphitheater like terrain there that would be fitting to the examples shown on page one of this thread. http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=36.669416,-93.341246&z=17&t=h&hl=en You can't see much on that map because you can't zoom in too far. If you know how to read a topo, check this out: http://map-pass.mytopo.com/maps/print_mytopo.asp?print=20&scale=5&layer=DRG&layer=HILLSHADE&lat=36.66866554220027&lon=-93.34059208631516&orient=1&res=144 There are some areas that are nearly identical to the 3D land rendering provided on the first page. Remember that "up" is not necessarily north in the rendering provided by GCI. This concludes my weird internet research of a park I have never been to. I guess I was just trying to validate Robb's guess. Enjoy!!! Chris. -
I posted earlier that I am in the 'who cares camp' on this one. I know it is wrong, and a big deal and all that, and she totally did the right thing by contacting Security and the Authorities. Contacting the media is what is messed up in my opinion. These kind of people just create this drama so random people 3,000 miles away will make over 70 posts on an internet forum about something they really shouldn't even know about. The public does not need to waste its time searching for a boob grabber. There are much more important criminals to catch. If the park and the cops can get him, great. Perhaps even the local media can broadcast it. But me seeing it on the news on the other side of the nation is a little bit silly. This is just an example of Americans WAYYYY OVERREACTING to stupid little things. Somebody just got their ass kicked in front of a security camera right now and their wallet was stolen. Why isn't that guy's picture posted all over the news?
