Photo TR : Hans' and Benny's mini Germany-France trip
WFChris replied to Groteslurf's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Is it me, or did I just read two different versions of the same trip? Either way, that coaster looks super fun and I really wish I get the chance to go one one (of that style) at some point in my life. Thanks for posting! Chris. -
I know a lot of people are saying that the lack of freefall cleared up some space, but come on. Really? It's a tiny little plot of land, and furthermore, doesn't anybody remember that RR literally went OVER the ride? It would take some mean custom fitting to get something else to go there. I know that it is a possibility, but there are many other, larger, pieces of land to work with. Chris.

Philrad's '09 theme/amusement park visits

I'm curious about that log flume. Looks deliciously home made. Chris. -
I have a feeling that SFMM is not advertising their Season Passes because while most other SF parks are closed, ours is open all year. They are still trying to get people to buy a 2009 season pass for dirt cheap before they start offering the 2010 pass, I'm sure. As for the "E" ticket attraction, it was a term used at Disneyland when it first opened. The park was not a Pay One Price park like most are today. You received a ticket book with various tickets in it, A representing more tame rides, and E being the best attractions. From Wikipedia, the world leader in super accurate information: From Disneyland's opening day until 1982, the price of the attractions was in addition to the price of park admission.[25] Park-goers paid a small admission fee to get into the park, but admission to most of the rides and attractions required guests to purchase a book of tickets that consisted of several coupons, initially labeled "A" through "C". The coupons were also sold individually. "A" coupons allowed admission to the smaller rides and attractions such as the vehicles on Main Street, whereas "C" coupons were used for the most common attractions like the Peter Pan ride, or the Tea Cups. As more thrilling rides were introduced, such as the Monorail or the Matterhorn bobsled, "D" and then eventually "E" coupons were introduced. Coupons could be combined to equal the equivalent of another ticket (e.g. two "A" tickets equal one "B" ticket). From the thrill ride experience at Disneyland, the colloquial expression "an E ticket ride" is used to describe any exceptionally thrilling experience. Chris.

I like how each of the vehicles on the Cars attraction will have their own personalities. Sounds fun. Chris. -
^Per capita is one thing, but overall income is another. If the other parks bring in more visitors in their shorter operating season, wouldn't that make them the revenue flagships? Even though SFMM is open all year, with ALL of their non-busy days, and there are a lot of them, I'm sure operating costs are considered into this figure. I have absolutely no idea which parks makes the most income, I just thought I would throw in some mundane business nonsense. Chris.

^^^^^People take pictures of the photo monitors all the time, don't really know what the big deal is. At around 18 bucks for a simple photo you would probably catch me doing the same thing (if I actually cared about onride photos)...not to say I endorse breaking any rules. Is there a sign or rule that says 'do not take pictures of the monitor'? I have never seen one, or an employee stop anybody from doing so. Thanks for the report! I wish I was closer to the area to check it out, after all of this hype:) Chris

This is pretty vague. What exactly are you looking for? Chris.

To answer the question asked a while ago, I thought the Psyclone trains are GREAT on Colossus backwards!!! I recall it being a very smooth, and fast ride. We had the pleasure of trains (ZOMG!) being raced, and while it took considerably longer for the B&M to get up the lift hill, we zipped passed the normal train in no time and beat them by a mile! Chris.

Fun:) That was interesting what you did to the 'leaving the studio tour' photo. The studio tour sign was normal, but everything else was backwards! Caught me off guard. Chris. -
Thanks for the awesome reports! I vaguely remember a Xuxa show here in the states when I was younger, I don't recall it lasting very long, but once you mentioned her, it all came back! Chris.

THORPE PARK's New Queueing System
WFChris replied to Koolkid's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I dunno, I kind of like it. I think you guys are being overly critical. It IS more simple, you can more easily narrow down which rides are '1's' and choose from those to ride. It's not like everything needs to be exact in this world. Look at traffic maps; 'green' means 'above 45 mph.' That sure isn't 'green' in my book, but it is what it is. I kind of like the new system. It's dumbed down for a dumber generation. Chris. -

^What is wrong with the photoshopping? Glad you enjoyed SFMM, Bas! After all the negative things people have to say about it (Like Cedar Point), your TR really displays how great of a park it really is. Keep up the great reports, yours are incredibly fun to read Chris. -
