  1. Larry, I really enjoy your take on the Japan Tour. Less emphasis on OMFG AMAZING PHOTOS and more on experience. With so much ridiculously good photography on this site its nice to see a non-professional take on things. Umm, yes. That IS a compliment. The TPR 'Don't Be Late' golden rule was in full effect at Knotts yesterday...we had to be there at 5:45AM and not a minute later...we were escorted into the park at 5:43AM, so even those 'mostly on time' were LATE! (if there were any).
  2. This thread really does recycle itself monthly. I love it!
  3. ^The lady with the stroller (no baby, for those of you wondering) was SOOOOO weird! I felt like they accidentally let a transient in with us or something. She didn't even ride!
  4. Forget Superman, they need to come up with some kind of ToT type thing with the sky tower!
  5. I used to love calling people from the Log Flume, back when cell phones were new and exotic and people just couldn't believe that I was actually on the flume calling them! How lame. But standing? Yeah, no. And those guys on the flume, to quote my friend 'This is why I am not allowed to carry a shotgun.'
  6. I just wanted to mention that my ride on Ghostrider today at about 11am in row 4 was AWFUL. That thing is a jerky hot mess, and 'the drop' is officially dead. That was the only disappointing thing about the day. That ride NEEDS a rocky mountain treatment.
  7. Hey, thanks for the spur-of-the-moment media day invite! I had a blast! And now I'm at work, not having a blast. Hope you are still all out there enjoying the park
  8. I don't think the US General Public would find a MegaLite too crazy, I'm pretty sure Californians would look at it and think it is too small to be good, and then ride it and complain that it is too short. Like they do with Apocolypse. And Green Lantern. SFMM needs a larger ride experience to be added soon; the last 'long' ride they built was Tatsu. We like long rides.
  9. I never realized how ghetto our swing ride is. Hrm.
  10. ^^I agree. Tatsu is definitely a terrain coaster, even though it is quite elevated most of the time.
  11. I enjoy reading in depth P:TR's, especially ones from TPR trips. There are only so many photos with silly captions that I can handle; this instead tells an actual story. Thanks, and keep it up!
  12. I just want to mention that I am embarrassed to be an LA Times reader after reading that poorly written article. The part where he starts going off on his opinion is very 'enthusiast message board-y' and totally unprofessional.
  13. Goliath and Goliath Jr at SFMM? totally kidding I was thinking about Silverwood with their two woodies but they were built 3 years apart with a junior in the middle.
  14. ^huh? (point?) Anyway, I would love to see some more Intamin out here on the west side as well. We seem to be dominating the looper world, but I would just love to have an airtime machine nearby. Ghostrider was a DREAM when we got it, something like that, but made by Intamin (wood or steel, don't care!) would be awesome.
  15. Some parks have two wild mice next to each other. You guys are getting a hyper *and* a mega in the same park. I would consider myself lucky if this was my home park
  16. Steel: Superman The Escape Wood: SOB
  17. It seems to me that the back corner of the park has always been kind of like the red headed step child of the park. In order to really get the crowds back there they HAVE to build a world class attraction. I actually think that whether or not they keep deja...which I hope they do. I like the dive machine idea too, but we already have superman, which faces straight down; and x2, which flips you over your head into a vertical drop (way more badassness than a dive machine is capable of imho). SoCal needs an Intamin megaAnything.
  18. I just had deja vu about six flag's ride share program. Or maybe it was a flashback, I'm not too sure
  19. Shh! That mystery will be revealed next time! Be sure to tune in to TPR to catch a glimpse of the next part of the trip report! I too, am excited to see the GL MCB pushers
  20. You know, if you took the final price tag of X2 (Building it, upgrading, painting, maintaining, and staffing), it just might come out to a quarter million a week. Then again, unlikely.
  21. It really is a cute P:TR
  22. 272,000 sounds super accurate...I checked with the dippin dots guy and he totally agrees.
  23. Cool report, I am fascinated by this park. I am a little disappointed to learn that it is not open in the evening though; I am definitely more of a fan of theme parks by night than day. There is a cool vibe at night that I really can't compare to anything else... Thanks for posting!
