  1. I guest my most 'Overrated' ride for 2012 would be Wild Eagle. Looks fun, love Dolly, but this coaster has by far the most boring B&M layout I have ever seen.
  2. I personally love the JG Wentworth commercials, btw. The commercials that I hate, and I am NOT an evil person, are the 2 minute long ones pertaining to starving children, children with disabilities and abused animals. I wish there was some way to donate to them and therefore remove the commercials from my set. I would totally send them $14 a month for that. You may think I am an ass for saying this, but deep down inside, you agree with me.
  3. Do you still work for the mouse? Can we call that a hidden Mickey?
  4. Goliath Touche. Goliath in the hail, media day, February 2000. That was an incredible morning.
  5. I thoroughly enjoyed this one. Thanks, guys.
  6. A giga or strata or whatever would (likely) be a total waste of that wonderful terrain back there. Just sayin'.
  7. That has got to be the bitchiest princess I have ever seen! Love your reports.
  8. For some reason, The Los Angeles Times has added an article about the announced coaster.
  9. ^Welcome to a world where gray and yellow fill your downtime
  10. ^Do you know if they discontinue WOC fastpass distribution for the really slow periods or is it always there? I also have a random question. Does anybody know why Soarin' shows Disneyland in holiday mode all year? I was there last week and thought I was all special for noticing it was a holiday scene, only to be told it is always that way (I don't ride Soarin much; I have the row 3 curse). Just wondering if anybody has insight on that
  11. ^I doubt the ride would need to be stretched at all. Remember, the steepest drop on the ride is only 43 degrees. I don't think it would be difficult to add height with the steeper angles you can work with in the space. In fact, I feel the layout is already stretched as it is.
  12. I would also like to see Colossus retrofitted to its original layout. That whole neutered 2nd drop to 2nd turnaround, not to mention the camel back, would be great to experience considering we all thought they would be gone forever.
  13. So in the 2nd picture, those three kids are all attempting to climb UP the slide, right? Looks like a fun place!
  14. ^^Thank you, Captain Obvious. Anybody who realizes that a phone in the pocket is a loose item that needs to be secured (especially on a flyer!) can perhaps provide more insight. Maybe the parks will have a drop off area for iPhones used to check in. I do not ride coasters with ANYTHING in my pockets anymore. It's a much more enjoyable experience. Thanks for a reply with dignity, Larry, however zippered pockets are really not the norm for your typical park visitor. I still see this idea as fairly contradictory toward park policies.
  15. LoQ for iPhone seems kind of difficult to implement at SF parks with their loose item policy. If you 'check-in' at the gate via your iPhone for say, Tatsu, how do you then store the device in a l.o.c.k.e.r?
  16. ^Clearly, it comes down to opinion I agree that there was not much of a sensation of weightlessness in the original format and it is more noticeable now.
  17. This is definitely a good step for Disney, especially with future FP integration and possibly a credit card link (or at least a way to preload it like a gift card). The current FP system is seeming more and more dated as I see RFID systems expand elsewhere. I find myself 'swiping' less and less, and 'tapping' a heck of a lot more. This system will definitely require a staff presence though, as a red mickey is hardly going to stop somebody from coming in. They use the RFID system on the LA Metro rail unsupervised, and I can assure you the system is losing millions on people not tapping when they go through the gate. They are still issuing paper tickets AND tap, and if you have a paper ticket you do nothing...you just walk through the gate. If you have tap, you tap and go, but you REALLY don't have to. It will be very exciting seeing what Disney's take on the whole system will be and how it will affect crowd management over time!
  18. Hollywood: The Walk of Fame stretches 1 mile on both sides of Hollywood Blvd, and is largely populated by people you have never heard of. There is even a Michael Jackson that isn't 'Michael Jackson' (which was interesting the day the real MJ passed; the OTHER MJ was getting flowers too!). "Famous Theater:" The Chinese Theater? The El Capitan? Either way, they are across the street from each other and ON the walk of fame! 2 birds, 1 stone! Truth be told, Hollywood is kind of crappy and usually is a letdown to most guests (especially if you are staying in the Disney bubble). Plan on spending really no more than 2 hours in the Hollywood area. That will be more than enough. The Getty Museum: You can easily spend a half day up there, it depends on your love for art. It has amazing views of the city, as well. Rodeo Drive: Cool to see to 'say you saw' but once again it is only a 1 or 2 hour trip. Most of the stores that were once considered exclusive to the area can be found at any high-end mall nation wide. The stores are small by todays standards and the attitude is HUGE! Venice Beach Canals: The canals are not the draw they once were, but are nonetheless nice. The beach itself is pretty interesting too. Definitely a unique feel that you can't find elsewhere. Lately, the focus is on pot doctors and bong stores. It's cool, but looses its steam within a good hour of your visit. A good alternative would be to visit the Naples area of Long Beach. It's more upscale and quite a bit more romantic. The Newport Beach Amusement Zone is close by to fill out a trip to that area as well. So in short, you can plan to have the Hollywood attractions, Beverly Hills, Getty Museum, and Venice Beach last ONE DAY. It will be a pretty packed day though as the drives between the attractions average about 30 minutes. I would recommend Venice Beach -> Getty -> Hollywood Blvd. The first two attractions require daytime, Hollywood does not. Regarding Elissas recommendation to go to Big Bear...if you are Skiers and are looking for something different, this is still an easy choice. No joke, parking lot to parking lot is just about 2 hours. Friends and visitors that have done this have really left their vacations with an 'epic' feel. Where else can you do a beach, Disney, and skiing in ONE trip? If you would like to take any Culinary adventures, by all means please post your tastes here as well! If you have any other q's please ask! Directing people to fun in LA is part of my job, and I enjoy it!
  19. SFMM WCB is on my birthday this year! Do I get a prize?
  20. The rock work is becoming VERY visible on Harbor Blvd, much more awesome looking than a month ago. While DCA is a pain to get around these days especially with the entrance the way it is, I do appreciate seeing progress EVERY time I visit the resort.
  21. I'm glad I wasn't the only one thinking this when this ride was announced!
  22. Right now though, the chance of rain is hovering between 30% and 50%, depending on where you look it up. Usually, these forecasts work out for the best, but keep an eye on that as well. Rain was forecasted all day yesterday, but by 10am it cleared up to a really beautiful day with a short shower at the end.
