All accelators close in even a light rain. Once I saw TTD close during a very light drizzle, or perhaps it was stormclouds. I forget. The only other thing I know is that Thunderbolt at SFNE will run in light rain.

La Vitesse [NL]
asr replied to IwantRevenge's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
I like the ride, but it seems really spread out for an accelarator, and the supports on the top hat seem like overkill. Skycar has a straight up-twist down top hat. And what are the rides stats speed, height, length etc? -
I'm thinking the new ride is a recreation of Manhatten Express. As for the ride, the only coment I have is that the turn in the picture looks a little drawn out (I don't have NoLimits )

Alton Towers Discussion Thread
asr replied to Ed's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
It does. But 118 feet tall? I'm thinking seventy feet at the most, with alot of terrain utilization, and like a 100 foot or so first drop into the valley, or maybe a 60 foot or so first drop, then a helix or airtime hill, then a big drop into the valley -
The Airtime, the G-Forces, the speed, and of course, it sure beats sitting around all day

I believe it launches you like a Space Shot and then holds you at the top like a Turbo Drop and then drops you like a Turbo Drop. Not all the time. It has Combo, Space Shot, and Turbo Drop modes. If you are lucky, both towers (it has three but one of them never operates) will be running Combo. If they arn't you're screwed. I haven't rode the Turbo Drop mode, but the Space Shot mode is like 200 foot tall kiddie ride

Chiller in Six Flags Great Adventure
asr replied to Shmoclo's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Premier LIM coaster, and Chiller in particular have lots of downtime and maitence problems, plus there was an accident on Chiller earlier in the season, the specifics of which are unknown as far as I know. -

I'm pretty sure that he was saying that while enthusiasts prefer Renegade, the General Public would have like a Beemer better -
Chiller in Six Flags Great Adventure

Chiller is closed for the rest of the season. Fortunatly I rode it in May, and it was great . I didn't ride Batman though, so no rare credit for me -

Roller coaster tycoon 3 wild?
asr replied to thrillrideseeker's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
The Extended Coaster in Wild! is designed to replicacate the Mauer Sohne X-Car coaster (An example of which is G-Force at Drayton Manor Park). While it does this badly, it has every type of coaster train in RCT3 from coasters using B&M style Box track, and a wide range of element (Including correct Dive Loops!), which make it very usefull, espiecally to use enthusiasts that hold realism so highly in our virtual coasters -
NL 1.6 "spinner"
asr replied to jarmor's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
I'm a Jimmy Neutron hater, but the coaster looks great. I wish I had NoLimits And, on "What Griffon Should've Been", do those first too inversions count as a Sea Serpent roll, or an Immelmann and a Dive Loop? -
The Looping-Slide strikes back!
asr replied to DragonKhan's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Probably not. Unless the tube was only semi-circle instead of a completly enclosed tube (like that would ever happen) it would be pretty hard or impossible to make it any different from straight track or an airtime hill. A Corkscrew on a waterslide is more plausible. -
The Six Flags: A Roller Coaster Superhero Comic
asr replied to Roy56's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
It is kinda hard when we don't know what there abilitys are. All we know is that Ninja can see the future, and that SuperX can fly in Flipdude's comics. In my head, the two outcomes are Ninja just dodging attacks and taunting SuperX to death, and eventually winning, or SuperX completly destroying Ninja. But like I said, we don't really know what any of the Flags can do, and that makes it hard to guess. But my gut feeling is that SuperX will win, so my money is on her. -
Uh... i live just North of Boston and doesnt take 90mins to get to Whalom..It takes 45mins TOPS. Well, in my defense, it was just a estimate based on how long it takes me to get there (some 30-45 minutes) and how long it takes me to get to Boston (2 hours) I am not doing well when it comes to posting factual information lately

That is actually SuperX (The superhuman protector of X at SFMM) from Roy56's comics. -
Pepsi Max Big One POV, with a slight twist!
asr replied to martinb's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The idea of an F1 car on a coaster is neat, and it was probably an extremly impressive ride for the local residents when it opened, but let's just say that I understand the PMBO bashing after watching that video -
#2 Both Chippewa and Idora are in Ohio, Medina and Youngstown respectively. Chippewa is an hour and half away from Sandusky, and Youngstown is 2 hours away. Mapquest links; Idora: http://tinyurl.com/jd32a Chippewa: http://tinyurl.com/zmco3 Whalom, however is not close at all. It is in Lunenberg, Massachusetts (About 1 1/2 hour from Boston), at the very shortest a 11-12 hour trip from CP. If you are doing a big Ohio/Penn/NY/NE coaster trip, then it could be plausible, but if you want to stay in Ohio or the midwest, it shouldn't be high on your agenda. #3 Big Dipper at Chippewa is estimated to be rather small, some 50 feet by the website I found. Flyer Comet at Whalom is bigger at 70 feet, and has an out-and-back layout. You can find an aerial photo of the Flyer Comet at the Save Whalom Park website; http://www.whalom.com/. The Wildcat at Idora Park was 85 feet tall, and supposedly gave a wild, intense ride. #4 I doubt it. Unless built at a small park (Knobels Grove comes too mind) replicas of these rides just are not big and thrilling enough for today's audience, but would still be too intense for younger children.

Wow. From the one picture it looks awesome, at first I though it was a real picture not a NL screenshot! -

Millennium Flyers. I don't think that GCI uses non-GCI trains anymore. Anyone know more about that? -
He said second most forceless. And the Superman clones all pull like 5 or 6 Positive Gs, so if your stats are right, Tatsu is not the most forcefull.

The closest city on that list too me is Boston, at #39. However, I live in the middle of nowhere out in Western Mass, and the nearest city to me is... There isn't quite one really the closest would be Springfield like 1 1/2 or 2 hours away.
