No, I'm saying just don't count on it being slow on the second weekend with the new ride opening up the weekend before and everything. -

On the second Saturday of the season that they're opening their largest coaster ever? I'd budget more time if I were you. I've been there on opening days where no new rides opened and the place was SLAMMED. Granted I've never been there on the second weekend of the season, but with the new big coaster opening up it could get quite crowded. -

A senior citizens' sightseeing bus is a senior citizens' sightseeing bus. Unless, of course, you're talking about the VIP coach some of us had last year in Europe. Now that was traveling in style. We had to pull the shades so the people on the other bus wouldn't get jealous. -
EGF shattered all my expectations as well. There's just not a boring moment on it. That was definitely the best ERT session I've ever had.

I absolutely <3 sushi. Great idea for a thread, Dave.

The splashdown is to put out the fire. -
Grona Lund is a concert venue and apparently this fellow was doing a concert there. So, I wouldn't get carried away just yet.

I tried Red Bull Cola and found it to be quite nasty. I do like regular Red Bull though.

I actually did laugh out loud at the Batman illustration. -
^Yes! Watching that on the bus was one of the best parts of the trip. Every rough woodie should sell on-ride videos.

Wooden Coasters that Need a Renovation

One key difference though: The Der Mammut trains had nice soft padding, as opposed to the rocks they normally use for seat backs. -

I guess. It doesn't really matter to me since I've never actually bothered to look at the webcam. -

^Maybe they want to make sure the first test runs go well before they show the remainder of the testing to the public. -
Yeah, I don't really buy the employee abuse argument either. That just sounds like typical spineless management. They don't have the gonads to directly deal with the ~5% of employees who excessively abuse sick time. They find it easier and less confrontational to just punish everyone. Fortunately, my current position is really flexible. If I'm feeling ill, I can just work from home so I don't get too behind on my projects. That way I don't get the whole floor sick.

http://www.bizjournals.com/sacramento/stories/2006/06/19/daily46.html I think the thing was that they never got that big money offer they were hoping for. So, they brought in Jay Thomas to clean the place up. -

Didn't they desperately try to sell SFMM, but failed to attract a decent offer? -
^Those onion rings look really good. I wouldn't touch the fake sour cream, but everything else looks great.

Awesome, Divv. I also loved Efteling. I'm a sucker for aesthetics. I also felt that Efteling was the only park on the trip that had dark rides that rivaled Disney in quality.

^Or when they put that stuff on a t-shirt.

Skoosh.com for booking a hotel
ginzo replied to Moose's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I got some VERY good deals on European hotels for my pre-Scandi trip using Priceline. For example, a Holiday Inn in London for ~$70/night. Though I didn't book anything in Scandinavia specifically. You might give Priceline a try. Here is some bidding history: http://biddingfortravel.yuku.com/forums/113 -
