  1. According to Expedia, GWL Mason features room fridges. Maybe you should call and confirm. I doubt they'll let you picnic in the water park, but you can do whatever you want in the room. And a trip to Jungle Jim's is always a good idea.
  2. See if you can request a room on the top floor. That way you won't hear a bunch of kids above you running around through the hallways doing the MagiQuest thing. The water coaster was a HUGE disappointment for me. I was very excited to ride my first Proslide Rocket, but it turned out to be very weak. It crawled through the uphill sections. Crush 'n Gusher at Typhoon Lagoon is 91023901230123120312093912309123012031920390123912x better. I need to get back down to SFKK to ride Deluge. Other than that, you really can't go wrong at Great Wolf. It's very nice for an indoor water park. The hotel itself is super nice. The basic family room is huge. You might look in to some restaurants outside of the lodge though. The food in the lodge is bland at best. There's a Culver's nearby if you're into that.
  3. Will Jeff Johnson get the senior rate, or is there a special deal for being over 5,000?
  4. I'm still blaming the crack.
  5. I know some medical schools have this thing called an "honor code" where if your cell phone rings during an exam you get an automatic FAIL for the exam. No questions asked. You fail.
  6. I think the trains are longer, but it really didn't seem any more intense in the back. It's still a B&M and not an Intamin.
  7. People said the same thing when the Behemoth trains were revealed. In my experience, it didn't really make that big of a difference. I think the point is to give everyone a good view no matter where they are sitting. The outside seats are nice and exposed/isolated with this new seating arrangement, but really it didn't seem to matter that much. It still feels and rides very much like a B&M Mega.
  8. Not a fan of the new SROS color scheme. Purple always reminds me of Barney The Dinosaur and a certain networking equipment vendor that makes very lousy gear. But, if this helps the park justify the investment required to get this coaster running as it should run with non-shin-bashing restraints, then it's all worth it.
  9. $73 million? In this economic environment? In New Orleans??? At least stop smoking the crack long enough to write a coherent call to action letter.
  10. ^That one is amazing.
  11. ^Are you going to drive all that way, Craig?
  12. I hate painting. I've incinerated the past several weekends painting my condo in order to get it ready for sale. Ugh. It seems like it's never going to get done, especially painting the trim!
  13. He also made for a crappy James Bond.
  14. Ditto on that. Instead of booing, ACE should be putting out their own videos. Why can't they see that they are an excellent tool/resource? If I'm going to drive possibly several hundred miles or fly, I'd like to see a little bit more than pictures beforehand.
  15. Very clever stuff, Shane. All the best!
  16. This thread confused me at first because I associated "Star Flyer" with the giant swing ride. Apparently, they're talking about this coaster: http://www.rcdb.com/id4179.htm
  17. That would be a pretty amazing punishment indeed.
  18. ^Motion shots are very difficult with point and shoot cameras.
  19. Yes it was stupid crowded that day. You had to push the kids out of the way just to walk down the midways. ERT really saved us that day! Thanks again to R&E for getting us that exclusive kiddie coaster credit. What's coming up next, Aventure Parc, was one of the very best parts of the trip.
  20. I doubt they'll try to put SFMM up for sale again. They tried and epic failed back when the economy was in much better shape than it is now.
  21. Actually, P&T's central point in that episode, that PETA's opposition to medical research is hypocritical and stupid, is a pretty good one. While I personally wouldn't want to be involved in carrying out animal studies, they are a very necessary part of research.
  22. ^Yeah, I don't understand it that well either, but I work for a company that made a bad investment on a much larger scale. We spent like ~$4 billion on a national telecom provider that almost bankrupted us. After spending all that cash, we sold it for $128 million. But we got to keep the ~$2 billion in debt!
  23. I think it's his tendency to make absurd statements to the press even when he's completely and utterly wrong. For example, he had a well-publicized interview a few years back where he blasted Google for purchasing YouTube.
