  1. I suggest doing the Wild Cave Tour at Mammoth, but that's going to eat up an entire day. Still, it's a great experience that will definitely test your strength, stamina, fear of heights, as well as ability to deal with EXTREME claustrophobia. I also agree with Erik that Louisville is a great home base to do all these parks because it's centrally located, has cheap hotels, decent roads, a reasonable amount of dining options, etc.
  2. Don't forget painting the 2-piston calipers red And extra loud after market exhaust kit. That'll replace displacement, for sure.
  3. ^Could he get away with a hood scoop if he added a Type-R sticker? I heard those add at least 40 HP, bringing him up to a more respectable 210 HP.
  4. I've never understood why the Legend has such a relatively bad rep. I think some people think it's rough, but it's never been a problem for me. And I do not like rough coasters. I've been to HW about 5 times since Voyage opened and have always found the back seat of the Legend to be a fun, out-of-control ride. Also, it's nice to hear that Voyage is running well again this year. Frankly, I thought it ran like crap when I went last year. Sluggish and rough.
  5. I agree with you in principle, but in practice you'd just end up being another one of HRP's unpaid creditors while management tries to petition the bankruptcy judge that they absolutely deserve another $50 million in bonuses. I suppose it could be a good idea if you really need a nice write off.
  6. I think Dave is smart enough to not sell his name or ideas to this fail park.
  7. I love Phantom Manor. It is by far the best dark ride I've been on.
  8. ^I've done ~$100/person dinners and not felt ripped off. For lunch that's really getting up there for me though. I guess I'm too used to running to the crappy deli across from work so that I can pick something up and work through lunch.
  9. For $300 for lunch you better have received a table dance from Mr. Flay or something.
  10. I'm not a fan of flyers, but it's very interesting to hear that you think that this one is the best of the bunch. Also, that's some serious hair you've got going on there.
  11. ^Apparently everybody comes at opening in Texas. Nobody comes later, like for a starlight rate or whatever. Everyone had a 9 hour day.
  12. Coaster hang time doesn't scare me. Flight Commander, the old Intamin flight trainer ride at Kings Island, had HORRIFYING hang time. You fell against the restraints so hard when you would do the barrel rolls.
  13. Thanks for posting this, Cameron. I'm mostly just glad to hear that they're giving Cornball the love it deserves. Also, going to free admission is probably a good move. It works out quite well at Knoebels. Unfortunately, I don't think I'm going to find the time to make it out to IB this year. We just have too much going on.
  14. http://www.pvresort.com/content.php?link=home.php This place is very close to IB. Close enough to easily take a nap in the middle of the day. It's basically just a budget motel, but I think the location makes it worth it. If you're looking for a more posh room, there's a Best Western further away from the park. You'll pay more and drive further.

  16. ^^What about those stupid airline ads that say "London - $195", but that's for one-way with no taxes. And then round trip with tax winds up costing the normal $1,000.
  17. ^Right. Bodily fluids released by coughing, sneezing, etc. And actually there is a real disease transmission route called the "fecal-oral route", but that's not what's happening here.
  18. Just a clarification here: generic drugs can only be sold for drugs where the patent has expired. Drug companies are used to losing revenue as soon as their drugs go off-patent. It's been happening for a long time before Wal-Mart start selling generic prescription drugs at loss leader pricing.
  19. ^It's serious now. They're shutting down the taco stands! http://www.breitbart.com/article.php?id=D97SCBL81&show_article=1
  20. For everyone who wants to panic about this: http://www.smh.com.au/world/only-7-swine-flu-deaths-not-152-says-who-20090429-aml1.html
  21. The CDC only reports cases that they have confirmed with lab testing. The real number is likely to be much higher. Geographically, yes, this is rapidly moving around. The real question is the acuity of the infected. From what I had read about the several suspected cases in NJ, the cases are relatively mild. http://www.reuters.com/article/domesticNews/idUSWAT01136620090428
