This town is on my sightseeing short list, but for the food, not the amusement park. -
Sindibad Morocco by Walibi [2013]
ginzo replied to xRene1993x's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I agree. It seems odd to make a gigantic investment in a new park when they refuse to reinvest in and properly maintain what they already have. I am very happy that they're rehabbing Turbine, but in general the Walibi parks seem very neglected. While other European parks are steadily adding rides and attractions, they're ripping them out or leaving them to rot. I remember the grounds at the Belgian and Dutch Walibi parks being good condition. The rides, not so much. Though I guess a Walibi caliber park would be a welcome addition for a country like Morocco. -

Photo TR - Cedar Point 2011 - Worst. Opening Day. Ever.
ginzo replied to Real's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
I like these fogged-in photos. It might be fun to ride a lot of this stuff in the fog. I've been to Cedar Point when several of the major rides were down at the same time. It's not fun when they're posting a 2-hour wait for Blue Streak. -
As I alluded to before, my comments were directed at the Saudis. You're not the only one still angry about 9/11. If you think I was joking about 9/11 specifically, you're wrong.

^So, it wasn't all that funny. But you're also reaching to be offended about a hypothetical situation 100 years from now. And it was frankly an absurd question to begin with. Of course there's a reasonable way to demolish a building if it can be constructed in the first place.

It was obviously a rip on the Saudis since many of the hijackers were from there and much of the funding for Al-Qaeda pre-9/11 came from there.

Mitch Hawker 2010 poll
ginzo replied to Skycoastin Steve's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Though I'm not a huge fan of the Bizarro theme, it did give them a way to market some very expensive and necessary upkeep on the ride. Otherwise, they'd just have been spending a lot of expense money without being able to add something "new". Sure it's not the greatest "new ride" in the world, but a company with severe money problems needs to be creative. Regarding the results, I need to get to Doswell and Japan. i305 and Kawasemi are the only 2 of the top 10 that I do not have the credit for. -

I think Empire has aged better than the other two, but it has been a few years since I've seen any of the original Star Wars trilogy. The second trilogy is beyond awful, especially Attack of the Clones. -

Ha, you should see the prices at Legoland Billund. Those were truly painful. A large soda was something like $10. If I remember correctly, when we went to Legoland California we went on some sort of attractions combo ticket that made admission very reasonable. -

Aww, it does look like they just threw the new Star Wars display together. -
Six Flags raises parking fees.
ginzo replied to thrillrider's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'd rather complain about Six Flags' lousy food quality than their parking rates. Though Derrick does have a point that there is no excuse for the lousy condition of the parking lots considering the rates. -

This is not a huge surprise as this is apparently the wettest April on record for this area. I'm sure they'll get it open soon enough. They did get Diamondback to open on time, which is a huge accomplishment for any US park. -

Serious bummer. I had it in the back of my mind that I should get out there soon because this coaster would not last much longer, but I never got out there. Grrr. -
This coaster needs airtime.

^I love how the genius from ACE says, "There's nothing wrong with it. It just needs some tweaking," when you've got an actual engineer earlier in the article describing major structural defects with the ride. "Just needs some tweaking" is exactly what KI tried after the big 2006 accident. What was the result? Additional rider injuries and lawsuits. -
